Havran Frieden - Scout

Havran smiled as Kostis supported his sanguine words. The assassin himself knew that the mission held better chances of coming out as another victim to the killer but nothing sugar-coated words couldn't help in this situation. At least, that was what he believed.

Havran untangled his arm from Zed, opting to rest them inside of his pockets as he followed Kostis' lead. They soon passed a guard who quickly saluted the Champion. The blue-haired knight stepped closer towards the guard, asking for what Havran reckoned was a fellow knight's whereabouts.

"Uh, he did say something... about 'finding the dead assassin's body in the woods' or something of the sort while he was leaving. Said for anyone who wanted to come along," the guard answered.

"The dead assassin's body...?" Havran muttered to himself, mulling over the guard's words. He must had been talking about the late high ranking assassin Capricorn whose death was nothing but mere rumors to most people. As far as he knew, no one, not even the assassins knew where he met his demise.

"It sounds like they're in a forest, but there's nowhere I can think of where a knight would lead them all, so it seems like it would be somewhere an assassin might know. Do you have any ideas?" Kostis asked, turning to the red-haired assassin. Havran crossed his arms across his chest and tapped his forearm as his mind drifted to the forest surrounding the kingdom.

"Well, there's nothing particularly interesting there although I s'pose some killers would disagree with me. There's this one ruin located in the western forest congested with foliages. I've never seen it for myself but from what I gathered, that place is heaven for killers. They can perform as many murders as they wish and come out innocent since they can either throw the body into the many rivers there or let predators eat it. Only a handful of people would dare visit that godforsaken place due to how dangerous it is," Havran explained, "One time, one of my acquaintances was stupid enough to venture that ruin. He came out barely alive and by barely, I mean he lost his left arm and caught anemia because of his massive blood loss. It could've been worse, I guess."

Zed and Xayah

[Zed]

“Of course we will, kiddo. We’ve got each other’s back so there’s nothing you need to worry about,” Harvan said reassuringly, surprisingly wrapping his arm around Zed’s shoulder. The boy found it odd at first, but he had to admit that it did comfort him a little. Again, that comfort was disturbed when Zed felt a light sting on his cheek after Harvan had pinched at it. “Also, stop being so insecure. Just because you’re a newbie doesn’t mean you’ll be useless throughout this dam.ned mission. We’ll help you train with that scythe of yours and teach you about combat in general. Well, at least I will as I have given you my promise.” the Scout rebuked.

“As will I,” Kotsis added, Zed noticed how the senior knight’s had was clenched around his father’s ring. “Havran is correct. We - as of us, whether we like it or not - will find the killer and stop them. It's just a matter of when and how we can. You'll have your part of course, but not without help. We three, along with the others, are allies for the time being so we'll aid you along the way." he said, patting the boy’s shoulder.

Zed sighed, he knew whatever he was sent here to face would be dangerous, he was expecting it to be since that’s how it’d always been. But this time was different, he could tell that both Harvan and Kotsis were trying their utmost to put the boy at ease, not to mention how they both made sincere promises to look after him.

Kotsis lead the way, towards the front gates, stopping a guard along the way. The two conversed until the blue haired knight eventually dismissed the guard and turned around to ask Harvan a question.

"It sounds like they're in a forest, but there's nowhere I can think of where a knight would lead them all, so it seems like it would be somewhere an assassin might know. Do you have any ideas?"

Zed’s eyes switched over to Harvan, who appeared to be in deep thought after the knight had asked the question. Soon enough, he came out with an answer.

Only a handful of people would dare visit that godforsaken place due to how dangerous it is," Havran explained. "One time, one of my acquaintances was stupid enough to venture that ruin. He came out barely alive and by barely, I mean he lost his left arm and caught anemia because of his massive blood loss. It could've been worse, I guess."

Zed’s body shook as he imagined the gruesome scene. After what had just been said, he wasn't too keen on visiting the place, but he realised it couldn’t be helped so decided to remain silent and await for a reply from Kotsis.

[Xayah]

“Whoa,” Wallace said in awe, looking at the sight in front of him.

Xayah shook her head, fool, let’s see if he says "whoa" after setting foot in that place.

"Hopefully the da.mn body's actually here," The Ranger grumbled as they grew ever nearer on horseback. "Then maybe we'll actually get somewhere and finish this gods' forsaken job."

Xayah nodded, The sooner I end this, the sooner I can plead for my sister’s treatment as payment.

It wasn’t long before the three entered the eerie forest. Xayah knew exactly when they reached their destination when she saw that they were surrounded by fog and also when the sound of the fast flowing rivers filled her ears.

“We’ve arrived. The ruin isn't too far ahead,” Xayah muttered, dismounting Callus, “We should leave the horses here, sure it’s risky if they’re spotted but we need to remain silent from here on out. You never know what kinda shifty folk could be lurking around here. Of course, I’m sure Syle shouldn’t have too much of an issue with that but, Wallace, try to keep up. If you don’t think you can be stealthy, not even in the slightest, then perhaps you should stay with the horses, the choice is yours.” she warned, glaring at the knight with narrowed eyes.

Wallace gulped. Truth is that's not sure if he's prepared enough to go in with them as he grew more anxious another truth is that his guardian instinct also told him to go with them an offer some sort of shield for their protection, another truth being her worried about the horses, and another truth is that he's afraid to be left out here on his own. Not to mention that they've come in this far and they really need to learn more about this murderer, why else would he come all the way here. Just to watch the horse?

but then again, the cleaned sight of prince's death started him already it would be worse if the body's still there to be investigated

"I---I can stealth!" Wallace almost add I think But he know it would be an imediate ticket to being kicked out "I will go in with you"

[Kostis Wither||Champion]

Havran briefly considered the question Kostis had asked, crossing his arms over his chest as he thought for a moment.
"Well, there's nothing particularly interesting there although I s'pose some killers would disagree with me." The Scout began answering. "There's this one ruin located in the western forest congested with foliages. I've never seen it for myself but from what I gathered, that place is heaven for killers. They can perform as many murders as they wish and come out innocent since they can either throw the body into the many rivers there or let predators eat it. Only a handful of people would dare visit that godforsaken place due to how dangerous it is. One time, one of my acquaintances was stupid enough to venture that ruin. He came out barely alive and by barely, I mean he lost his left arm and caught anemia because of his massive blood loss. It could've been worse, I guess."
Kostis raised an eyebrow as Havran concluded his theory of where the place could be. Though the knight knew it was obvious killers wouldn't impart the place where they went to preform their murders, he was still rather surprised he hadn't heard rumor of the place floating around, seeing as how it was so dangerous. There was a lot more to assassins than Kostis had even begun to know.
The Champion placed a finger against his chin for a moment in thought. The idea of Wallace going out on his own without another knight to accompany him was all the more worrying now that Havran had disclosed the dangers that where the Guardian was suspected to be might hold. However, it was already late in the day and Wallace's party had left quite a while earlier while Zed was being fitted out in is new gear. Kostis and the others might make it to the western forest before nightfall, but without perhaps even Havran knowing the exact location, which Kostis suspected as the former had said he hadn't visited before, they would be quite hard pressed to find it in the thick and vast forest before nightfall. Not to mention, if it were as dangerous as the red-haired man had suggested, bringing along the seemingly inexperienced Zed without the Reaver having any preparation in case an unfortunate event occurred... suddenly an idea occured to the blue-haired man.

"I think it might too late to try to travel all the way there," Kostis began. "But my family home is westward, in the same direction. We can move on to there and already be on the correct course and can continue the rest of the way in the early morning if they haven't returned. Besides, we should teach Zed at least some basics in how to defend himself in the limited time we have, which we can do there just as well as here. I would suspect you would feel more comfortable with your weapon if you knew how to better use it." The knight said, nodding to the white-haired boy's new scythe.

[Syle||Ranger]

They soon entered the dense forest. Xayah lead them further and further in before the three on horseback were surrounded by fog, but not before the sound of harsh rushing water touched Syle's keen ears from off in the distance.
“We’ve arrived. The ruin isn't too far ahead,” Xayah said in a mutter as she dismounted from her horse. “We should leave the horses here, sure it’s risky if they’re spotted but we need to remain silent from here on out. You never know what kinda shifty folk could be lurking around here. Of course, I’m sure Syle shouldn’t have too much of an issue with that but, Wallace, try to keep up. If you don’t think you can be stealthy, not even in the slightest, then perhaps you should stay with the horses, the choice is yours.”
Syle stayed quiet about the other assassin's advice towards Wallace as she waited for the large knight's answer. Instead the assassin quietly dropping down from his horse's back and immediately began looking at the ground and surrounding brush. It didn't seem as if anyone had come through this exact area to arrive to the eerie location recently, but the Ranger knew there was every chance someone could have arrived from a different direction closer towards where they were about to head by foot as of recently.
Perhaps they'd even come across someone else by time they got to the ruins, but Syle certainly hoped not as it would make things unwantedly complicated.

"I---I can stealth!" Wallace responded, though he seemed a bit uncertain despite his words. However, he pushed on with his other comment, "I will go in with you."

"Just try to step where we step, and don't talk unless you have to, then." Syle enjoined finally at the knight's saying he will join him and Xayah in going further into the forest. "That'll at least keep down the chance you'll make noise and attract attention."

"I think it might too late to try to travel all the way there," Kostis began after mulling over what Havran had said, "But my family home is westward, in the same direction.

Havran considered the Champion’s suggestion. He could actually lead them to the ruins with his sensitive perception. All he had to do was enter the western forest and let his senses guide him. However, his hyper awareness would be worthless if Zed couldn’t defend himself. Even though he could sense approaching figures, there was no guarantee he could protect the young Reaver whenever the latter needed it. With that in mind, the assassin decided Kostis’ plan was a sound one. He had just one problem with it.

“Well, it’s a nice plan and all but I don’t think your fam would allow an assassin near their place, wouldn’t you think?” Havran asked.

[Kostis Wither||Champion]

Kostis sighed when Havran pointed out the seeming flaw in the knight's plan, though the Champion knew avoiding telling the others the reason would end up being futile once they arrived at the house anyway.

"Believe me, I have no intentions of leading an assassin on my parents' front steps. I suppose you'll find out once we got there, in any case." Kostis finally admitted, crossing his arms. "My family do not live in the house I speak of. We still own it in theory, but when... my family had it's downfall in power, it was near impossible to keep the place up to standards while living in it. As such, it is currently vacant while my mother and father live in a smaller house they can better afford. Though it is not quite ideal for an assassin to know the location, it would not gain you much as no one lives there and there's nothing of value to steal inside."

The knight had to keep his bitterness from his tone, always disliking to bring up his family's disreputable past.

"No complaints? Then I trust that you understand, please do make sure that word doesn't get out" Z said going back to pick up his Codex. Z felt that the book had become slightly lighter, but not enough to raise suspiscion.

Miriela stood up once again and asked "where should we go next?"

No one speaks after Ishmael's little analysis. With brief silent Z decided to break it, possibly regarding to the other two women who was summoned who has yet to speak "No complaints? Then I trust that you understand, please do make sure that word doesn't get out"

"I know what effect it could have, we're already on our toe as it already is, we don't need more knight to go witch hunting on each other at this already weakening time" Said Ishmael

Miriela then stood up "Where should we go next?"

Ishmael frowned "Wallace Seaward mentioned that he and a couple of assassin's heading to investigate the sight of the head of assassin's murder in some kind of forest, but with repect, your highness, but I don't think that you should , you've alrady endangered your life back there and if these assassin's anticipating your---demise so much  they banded together they would surely do it again to make sure it's delivered. We can't afford to let that happen. It is too dangerous"

--------------------------------------------------------

Wallace

"Okay" Wallace whispers back and nod in apreciation at Syle's advice "I know that you might think it's unlikely but I can walk very very soft, like an elephant" He realize that elephant isn't as common in Draoma as oppose to his homeland so he made a step as if to demonstrate, it's indeed quiet, except "but my armor might made a little noise though"

[Zed]

"I think it might too late to try to travel all the way there," Kostis began. "But my family home is westward, in the same direction. We can move on to there and already be on the correct course and can continue the rest of the way in the early morning if they haven't returned. Besides, we should teach Zed at least some basics in how to defend himself in the limited time we have, which we can do there just as well as here. I would suspect you would feel more comfortable with your weapon if you knew how to better use it." The knight said, nodding to the white-haired boy's new scythe.

Zed nodded in response, it would be better if he learnt how to use the scythe quickly. Otherwise Harvan and Kotsis would need to hold back in fighting any foes they may encounter, due to having to babysit Zed.

“Well, it’s a nice plan and all but I don’t think your fam would allow an assassin near their place, wouldn’t you think?” Havran asked, in reference to Kotsis’ idea to take them to his family’s manor.

Zed remained silent, he wasn’t fully aware of the dispute between the knights and assassins. It was somewhat confusing, Both sides slay their enemies in the end anyway, so what’s the issue? He thought. Could it be because one side does it for money and the other for their country? But then again, those in the army still get paid, right?

The sound of Kotsis’ voice tore Zed away from his thought, "Believe me, I have no intentions of leading an assassin on my parents' front steps. I suppose you'll find out once we got there, in any case." the blue haired knight finally admitted, crossing his arms. "My family do not live in the house I speak of. We still own it in theory, but when... my family had its downfall in power, it was near impossible to keep the place up to standards while living in it. As such, it is currently vacant while my mother and father live in a smaller house they can better afford. Though it is not quite ideal for an assassin to know the location, it would not gain you much as no one lives there and there's nothing of value to steal inside."

Zed frowned after Kotsis revealed a little bit of his past, the downfall must’ve been quite humiliating.

“That must’ve been awful...I know how painful humiliation can be,” Zed said, muttering the final bit of his remark. “Anyway, shouldn’t we get a move on. I want to learn quickly.” Zed suddenly added, trying to change the subject.

[Xayah]

"I---I can stealth!" Wallace responded. Though Xayah raised a brow, the Guardian didn’t seem to confident in himself.

"Just try to step where we step, and don't talk unless you have to, then." Syle advised. "That'll at least keep down the chance you'll make noise and attract attention." he explained.

“Right, but if you give us away...I’ll k.ill you myself, haha!” Xayah threatened with a smirk, laughing evilly.

With that settled, the Rouge began to proceed through the forest. Each step was carefully made, being sure to tread lightly and only on the areas that had little to no leaf litter or twigs, minimising the sound of rustling. The white haired assassin was used to this kind of thing, particularly when she was given thieving/ retrieval missions. The fog didn’t bother her either, in fact she prefered it. After all, the assassin loved striking from the shadows and when she was unseen, moreover, she tended to blind her targets with smoke bombs before striking them with a single killing blow. Therefore, navigating her way through the fog was a breeze.

Soon enough she noticed a broken stone pathway come into view. They were close to the ruin, all they had to do now was follow the path. The assassin continued further down when she suddenly stopped, noticing that there were figures hanging upside down from the trees. Xayah walked closer, identifying them as the dead bodies of several men, attached the the tree branches by rope.

“Hmph, I’ve seen this before...It’s a warning message, saying, ‘Get lost!’” Xayah said. She leapt up, towards the bark of one of the trees and punctured it with her clawed katar so that she could stay gripped on without sliding down. She then reached out and began feeling the man's skin, once she was done she released her katar and immediately jumped to the next tree and started feeling one of the other men’s skin.

“Hmm, their skin is rough...but not stiff.” Xayah informed to other two below. “These men have been killed relatively recently,” she concluded, jumping back down to the ground and landing softly. “Now, we have more of a reason to be wary. Let’s find this cursed body and get the he.ll outta here.”

Havran rubbed his nape and averted his gaze. He hadn’t meant to drudge up the knight’s bad memories, especially after noticing the latter reacted poorly to his remark when the two introduced themselves.

“Ah, sorry for souring the mood. Forget I said anything,” Havran said apologetically. He quickly thought up of anything that could drive them to another topic but Zed thankfully beat him to it. He decided to stay quiet, waiting for the Champion's cue.

"No complaints?" Z said into the following pause, just about concluding the emergency meeting of sorts.

"Then I trust that you understand, please do make sure that word doesn't get out." Rynn nodded again and shifted her weight slightly uncomfortably. The others seemed to be in agreement as well. Then Ishmael suddenly spoke up.

"I know what effects it could have, we're already on our toes as it already is, we don't need more knights to go witch hunting at this already weakening time."

Miriela stood before anyone responded to that.

"Where should we go next?" Hm, good question. Rynn really would not have minded going straight home at the moment , but Ishmael mentioned Wallace saying something about "investigating the sight of the head of the assassins' murder in the forest." The knight also told them that he didn't really think that Miriela should come along for her own safety.

Rynn shrugged and said, "I don't know Ishmael. It is dangerous, but if Wallace is still traveling with his group, we will be working together with even more knights and assassins. I don't think we should leave Miriela, she can defend herself just as well as everyone else, right?" She straightened and paced over to stand next to the door with an expectant look on her face.

"Well that's just my thoughts. So when do we leave?"

"No complaints?" Z said into the following pause.

"Then I trust that you understand, please do make sure that word doesn't get out."

Lyra tilted her head, wondering what the entire purpose of the meetings was. Besides, she wanted to exaime the page of his presious codex that she snagged. As a result, she did not really hear what Ishmeal was saying in response, she only caught the last bit of his boring sentence.

".. witch hunting at this already weakening time."

"I don't know Ishmael. It is dangerous, but if Wallace is still traveling with his group, we will be working together with even more knights and assassins. I don't think we should leave Miriela, she can defend herself just as well as everyone else, right?" Rynn briskly walked twoards the door.

"Well that's just my thoughts. So when do we leave?"

Lyra lifted her chin.

"Woah." She objected. "Who said we were going anywhere? Besides, If the entire point of this meeting was to tell us not to say anything, what is the point of blackmailing us in the first place?" Lyra challenged Z. "Unless that is, there is a draw back to what you are telling us." She tapped her foot impatiently. There has to be a 'but' somewhere in that.

"Merely a precaution" Z replied to Lyra giving away nothing.

"Going to where Wallace's group may not be such a good idea" Miriela spoke up "If we accidentally end up fighting eachother there will be blood. Omisan joined in suggesting that they should go and give Wallace a hand but if they're to do that they should bring Miriela along to "But..." Ishmael tried to interject

Raven throughout the whole ordeal could careless about there little drama and instead focusing on the elephant in the room about Z blackmailing them, Z was anything but fased

"Going to where Wallace's group may not be such a good idea" Miriela spoke up "If we accidentally end up fighting eachother there will be blood. If I don't end up unintetionally becoming bait to a hive a of assassins, and this time Z won't have his traps nice and set up to help us out"

"--Which is precisely why it would be much safer if you don't go" Ishmael said quite bluntly " I worried about Wallace too, Miss Omisan, if we're to lent him a hand it should be just a small group, perhaps just two, someone who's fast and isn't easily target, you still need to rest for your wound to fully healed and I believe if it come down to it Wallace can handle himself pretty well. He's way tougher than a lot of people have giving credits to.

"As for where else could we working on, I'm afraid that I'm out of ideas too. I don't like standing around waiting for something to happen but right now Sir Blakesley have yet to have any say in this other than for us to be prepared"

Wallace

Wallace only sweated at Xayah last remark.

He tried his best to silently followed the assassins' footstep, stepping quietly and avoiding the leaves was easy enough but he had to be careful for his armor, made sure to made it sound as quiet as possible.

but when he saw the bodies, the boy has to tried his best not to made more noise than a tiny gasp. His hands over his mouth.

Xayah inspected the bosies, jumping from trees through trees and analysising the situation. Once the girl done talking, Wallace decided to ask softly "Who could have done such thing....is it the work of someone you know?" Wallace wasn't as knowledgable about how assassins work in fact he did not know at all but he guess that they might have some knowledge of how the other assassin work. At this point Wallace just desperately want his other two companion to know who they're about to face. Are they here for the body too? what if they're that infamous ki,ller themselves?

" just a precaution." Z said blankly.
Lyra wasn't buying any of this. A precaution? Does that mean Z was afraid of something? It did not add up. So, she decided to expect the worst.

Then Ishmael spoke up
"Which is precisely why it would be much safer if you don't go" Ishmael said quite bluntly " I worried about Wallace too, Miss Omisan, if we're to lent him a hand it should be just a small group, perhaps just two, someone who's fast and isn't easily target, you still need to rest for your wound to fully healed and I believe if it come down to it Wallace can handle himself pretty well. Lyra couldn't help but agree, but for much more selfish reasons.
"As for where else could we working on, I'm afraid that I'm out of ideas too. I don't like standing around waiting for something to happen but right now Sir Blakesley have yet to have any say in this other than for us to be prepared"

Lyra liked the idea of not doing anything, her shoulder had not fully healed.

Kostis Wither||Champion // Syle||Ranger

((apologies for my disappearance, I've been a bit ill these past few days and didn't really feel up for writing until now.))

[Kostis Wither||Champion]
"That must’ve been awful..." Zed said after a moment, muttering the last part of his sentence, though Kostis could catch the general gist of it. “Anyway, shouldn’t we get a move on. I want to learn quickly.”
"Ah, sorry for souring the mood. Forget I said anything," Havran rubbed the back of his neck, his eyes averted.
Kostis wondered if perhaps he could have responded better to the redhead's question, for he realized the assassin could not have been aware; the knight was just used to many people, at least those of nobility or other high standing, he came across already knowing details of his family's predicament, if not to the point they themselves are the ones to bring up the results of what happened, either derisively or out of pity.
Though it was far more a rare case as of the last few years, with Kostis at a higher rank than most in the military, the blue-haired man couldn't help but be reminded of the issue he had experienced during his younger years.
The knight considered apologizing himself, but decided to instead just take Zed's opportunity of a subject change to escape from the sudden, though unintentional, quietness between them.
"Indeed," Kostis agreed with the younger boy. "Let's just fetch the other two horses, then we can leave."

((I know they had been sort of walking off earlier, but let's just say Kostis had talked to the guard with the info closer to the stables than I indicated a few posts ago. just so we don't have to have it like they're walking back right after having just seemingly left. my bad, whoops.))

Kostis walked the few yards back into the stable to see his horse was nibbling on some hay in the food trough. In the few hours since they had returned with Zed, the stallion seemed refreshened from their earlier journey to and from the outskirts. The steed seemed to had been brushed and combed down by the stable-boy earlier, as well, and had been tacked back up with a saddle and bridle and was ready to head out again.

"Alright, Caspian," The knight murmured softly. "We're going home." As the horse was already tacked, Kostis merely put into place a saddlebag across the horse's back, as he was sure they'd be gone longer this time around than they had been on their earlier trip.

---

[Syle||Ranger]

"Okay," Wallace responded softly. "I know that you might think it's unlikely but I can walk very very soft, like an elephant. But my armor might made a little noise though."
It took Syle a moment to understand the knight's comparison to 'elephants'. Though the assassin was smart, he never really had much of an academic background, learning most things from mouth on the streets or from information he heard thanks to jobs throughout the years. Syle finally placed the animal after a moment of thought, however; though he didn't know exactly what the animal looked like, he recalled some smugglers he had been sent to catch several years ago. They had been stealing ivory and were trying to make their way through Draoma to sell them illegally for a hefty price, having gone uncaught for years and making their illicit fortune. The blue-haired young man remembered once he had tracked the caravan down, he had noted the size of the said tusks and how large the animal they came from must be. Though Syle had no problem with animals being killed for food, he thought it rather despicable for the elephants to have been killed merely for their bones to be sawed off and sold. Perhaps the young assassin didn't have much room to talk, with his own profession such as it is, but it made slicing the mens' throats once he found them more easy, in any case.
After a brief threat Xayah issued to Wallace after his comment, the group set off. The female assassin led them through the forest, taking care not to step anywhere with too many leaves or sticks that would crinkle or crack under their feet and give them away. Though Syle was used to fog, as he was often in forests where it rolled through, it was rather thicker than he was used to and made it slightly difficult to see. However, that also made it more difficult for others to see them, if anyone was around, and the assassin's other senses made up for his lack of visibility.
They came out near a broken pathway, littered with weeds and growth breaking the stones apart and showing the neglect and age the ruins they would be coming up upon. Suddenly Syle could make out the sound of a creaking sway in the air, something that wasn't tree branches. He heard a muffled gasp come from Wallace, whom covered his mouth to stifle the sudden sound.
Sure enough, as they neared closer, Xayah suddenly paused and looked upwards at several bodies hanging upside down from where they were tied with rope, high up in the trees.
The white-haired assassin made quick work of scrambling upwards into the tree with the help of her katar. As she felt one of the dead men's skin, Syle breathed in through his nostrils deeply from where he waited on the ground below. The bodies didn't look that old, from where he could view of them from where he stood, but his reckoning was only further proven by the lack of rotting smell. There was certainly an odor of death, but not so much to indicate the bodies had been strung up for so long as to start major decomposing.
“Hmm, their skin is rough... but not stiff.” Xayah confirmed Syle's theory and she jumped back down to the ground. “These men have been killed relatively recently. Now, we have more of a reason to be wary. Let’s find this cursed body and get the he.ll outta here.”
"Who could have done such thing..." Wallace asked, and Syle decided not to snap back at the knight that he were asking the question to two people whom could very easily have done the act themselves. "Is it the work of someone you know?"
"It could have been anyone," Syle instead just sighed impatiently, crossing his arms over his chest. "A bit too flashy for my taste. However, I think we can push aside the idea that it's the killer; it doesn't seem messy enough to be their work, not to mention unless they came back here since the day they killed Capricorn, these bodies are too fresh to be as old as the other body should be if it's here. There's someone else around," Syle concluded darkly.

Wallace knight

((Well guess I can post a little bit, not really sure if it's what you want though))

Wallace listened intensely at Syle's take on the situation, although it should be a slight relieve that they're not dealing with the national-wide ki,ller just yet, the idea that they might ran into some unknown flashy assassin might even be more worrying. Wallace suddenly felt self-concious about the shield he's carrying. He could imagine a dagger flying straigth at them already and he must make sure he would react in time. The boy kept silent this time though, he just tensed up and prepared. waitng for his companion to take the next action, either to dwell in deeper or something else.

Havran Frieden - Scout

Havran followed Kostis back to the stables, finding the mare he had borrowed thoroughly spotless. Her saddle and briddle were also already in place, saving the assassin some time. He grabbed her reins and began leading her out from the stables, stopping when he passed by Kostis.

"Hey, Blue. I don't know how the stable system works here so am I just borrowing this mare or not?" Havran asked, nudging his head towards the black stallion.

[Zed]

"Indeed," Kostis agreed with the younger boy. "Let's just fetch the other two horses, then we can leave."

The blue haired knight soon returned with the two horses, murmuring something to his own.

"Hey, Blue. I don't know how the stable system works here so am I just borrowing this mare or not?" Havran asked the Champion, nudging his head towards the black stallion.

Zed then realized the black horse didn’t belong to Harvan, he was merely borrowing it for the duration of the mission. He then turned to look at his own horse, smiling, before climbing on to his back. Diana began to trot towards the main gate, the white haired boy immediately pulled on the, indicating for her to stop in her track.

“Diana, wait, we’re going to follow Kotsis’ lead.” He instructed, though the mare only understood the part about having to stop.

[Xayah]

"It could have been anyone," Syle said, answering Wallace’s question, sighing impatiently, crossing his arms over his chest.

Xayah nodded, “Then let’s not waste anymore time, Syle, you’re good at tracking things down, right? So, you take Wallace and look for the body, I’ll be on the lookout for any dangers. Once we’re done, we’ll meet up here, at the Ruin entrance.” Xayah said, not waiting for a response, she began to leap across the terrain, finding a high vantage point.

"Wait, We shouldn't split---ah she's gone" Wallace half whispers, not wanting to shout but he still sounds distressed at her departure. So he asked the assassin next to him for a reassurance "Is she going to be okay on her own?"

----------------------------------------------------

Ishmael shifted uncomfortably where he stood, not really liking the idea of send two more assassin to the otherwise already-surrounded-by-assassins-Wallace. But as much as he want to be the one to go he knew that the assassin's more knowledagble about the areas and the idea of let the assassin be the one to watch the castle in his place instead doesn't sit well with him so finally, he nodded "I will, Your highness" He knew the dismiss when he see one and he isn't the one who made the princess' wish gone unheard. So he left to overwatch the castle as he was told.

Lyra The Assassin (Duelist)

"I trust youll keep up,Raven?" Z turned and asked her.

Raven placed her hands on her hips and stared at him. Once the others were out of earshot she spoke.

"Mmhmm. See, but sitting in the guardens and chilling while eating a stolen apple sounds much more appealing then galavanting around on a wild goose chase. Of course, I would of be so inclined to agree had you not attempted to blackmail me." She let out a haughty laugh, waving her hand dimissivly.

"So, Z, convince me why I should waste my energy." Lyra challenged.

Z: Artificer, Assassin

"Who said I was blackmailing you? Alot of people have secrets that the don't want others to know" Z said "though I suggest you beware, some secrets may not be worth the price you pay for it, and death would be a small price to pay"

Z placed the Codex into his cannon and leaned up against the window before giving a cocky smile to Lyra

"Go ahead and stay, do what you want, but if you think you can get away with something to harm me don't even try., if you decide to harm me it won't only be you that I'll go after. Before the prince's assassination I was one of the most feared assassins in the land, and most of my targets would kill themselves before letting me take them alive. Either way, I have an experiment to run good day!"

Z made his way into the dungeon where the assassins from the night at the pond were imprisioned.  he slowly made his way down to the last cell where the Frogman was held

"Who are you?" the Frogman asked

"Your worst nightmare"' Z replied.

Z opened the doors to the cell and chained the frogman to his bed. Screams of agony could be heard all the way down the hallway of the dungeon as Z cut open the frogman's belly and placed a trap full of flesh eating hornets inside. Before sewing him up again. After the frogman had passed out from the pain Z too a metal probe a drilled it into the base of the frogman's skull. He could only conrtrol 3 puppets at a time but it was still a welcome addition to his arsenal. Z moved the frogman's body over to a casket and began injecting various drugs into the body, some of these drugs would cause increased aggression, others would cause terrible hallucinations, still others would triple the man's strength to the point where he could tear down concrete walls with ease, but all of those drugs would serve to utterly break his mind., the toll on the body was immense too and the body, once deployed, would fly into a blood rage for about half an hour before the subject suffered an unceremonious death and the trap inside them would spring to life.

Injecting in one more solution Z closed the lid on the coffin and asked a guard to prepare a carriage as well as to give him a set of twin swords. If Raven didn't want to come Z could make his own. rather unwilling, partner.

Lyra The Assassin (Duelist)

"if you want to huarm me. Don't even try. I used to be the most feared assassins in all the land, my victims would usually kill themselves before being caught unwilling with me." Z warned.

Lyra sniffed at him.

"You seem to think that everyone is out to get you." She said as She walked off. "That isn't always the case."

Raven was left standing alone. She sighed and let herself sink to her knees and sit on the ground. She tucked her head into the knees and blew a rasberry as she exhaled.

This mission was far more straining than she thought. Maybe if she ran away...

That's when the screams started.

Pained howls of agony drifting down the hallway. Lyra head snapped up and she leapt to her feet. The voice seemed to be in so much blistering pain that it could not form words. In which case, it wasn't an interrigation at all. It was a death sentence. She could only think of one man,Z, who would go to such lengths. She flinched as the screams sounded again and backed up. She was an assassin true, but that did not mean she was heartless. Every night she thinks about her victims, then, shoves them back in that locked box, and throws away the key.

Raven placed a careful hand on her sword, suddenly Thankful for her gloves, for she felt her hands warm up inside them. She waited until the screeching stopped then breathed in deeply and calmed her facial expressions to point blank. Lyra sauntered casually twoads the dungeons, walking in on Z and the body of the Frogman. She looked down at him and curled in her bottem lip.

"Pity." She said emotionlessly. "We could of gotten more information out of him."

She noticed the sitches on his stomach and the holes drilled in his head.

"Was this really nessicary?" She mutttered.

The entire point of her job was to get in, kill swiftly get out. She could not afford to take her time with this level or brutality. If anyone heard, she would of been cooked meat for sure. However, she also understood that this was a display, a warning for her. Z telling her not to try and hinder him in any form. Raven tried her hardest to make it not work. She would not fear Z. She refused.

"We can't extract any more than he's willing to give up" Z spoke loudly so all the other prisoners could hear him while hefting the coffin "While everyone else here would think that they could bargain information for their lives and then run away I won't merely take that. If the information is accurate then I spare them. If not, well what you've just seen isn't the worst I can do. I would make you wish you were dead. "

Z dragged the coffin behind him as he walked down the dungeon hallway.

"Perhaps I could make you eat your own children as your spouse watches in horror, maybe I could turn your children into living bombs,. Oh the possibilities!" Z cackled as he passed the occupied cells, their occupants moving into the shadows upon seeing Z.

After Z had passed one of the men in the cells launched himself towards the bars of the cell and begged Lyra "Please, save us from that madman! He's going to kill everyone!"

Z loaded the coffin into the carriage and took the twin swords from the guard and placed them in the coffin right in the frogman's hands. Z waited for Lyra to get on board

Ishmael

"For once, I agreed with her"

Ishmael's making his way toward the carriage face sterned and serious. Eyes glared a dagger toward Z. He have heard all the reckus these assassin has caused in the cell.

"I was following the princess' order to oversee the castle and here I am checking on the prison ground to see if there're any breach. Then I met two of you who was suppose to be at the forest. I would have like it to use this oppotunity to have a word with you now that Princess Miriela's not here but instead I found you toying these men with your sick method" He explained. His blood is boiling. His hatred toward the man rose higher than ever before, it helps a lot too now that Miriela's not around

"There people, are going to be faced the judgement rightfully by the hands of law from what they've done. It doesn't matter if Blakesley made the temporaly truce or if you have once served for the knight, you are not above the law as much as the rest of us. . You freed the man from the prison without permisson, torturing them, made them your puppet. For what, to ensure the value of their usafe if their information proved to be false?  Are human lives that disposable to you assassins!?"

"Please save us madam. He's gonna kill us all!" On of the prisoners exclaimed.

He threw himself at the cell, eyes wide. Lyra crouched down to look him in the eye.

"Trust me. I could do much, much worse." She whispered softly to him, letting her eyes flash to the magic squirming deep within her.

"For once, I agree with her."

The sound of a voice caused Lyra to stand up. The do-gooder knight launched into an explanation of why he was here and a rant about human lives.

"Are human lives that worthless to you assassins?" He challenged.

Raven let a bit of sympathy leak onto her complexion.

"No." Was all she said. Let him interpret that.

She tried not to recall all those lives whom she ended. She did not do so out of guilt, but for another reason all together. Some part of her respected them, they faced death and discovered what's in the other side of the veil. Not that they had much choice in the matter...

Lyra hopped onto the xarrige and looked back at the knight.

Kostis Wither||Champion // Syle||Ranger

((hopefully I'll be able to post a bit more after I figure out the groove with all my college hw now))

[Kostis Wither||Champion]

"Hey, Blue." Kostis heard Havran ask as the former began pulling his horse out from his stall and leading him to the stable doors, noticing the redhead retrieving the mare from earlier along as well. "I don't know how the stable system works here so am I just borrowing this mare or not?"
"There are enough horses for most any guard or knight to ride one if the case were needed," Kostis began in explanation. "Though knights who just guard and don't usually have need for a horse or newer knights who haven't been in the service for long don't necessarily have a horse of their personal own yet, unless they have one of their own already that meets the qualifications to be used by knights on duty. Of course some people have preferences of which steed they may ride, but that mare doesn't seem to belong to a specific knight in particular so I don't see any harm in you borrowing her for the time being."

Kostis finished as he walked from the barn. He noticed Zed had already mounted onto Diana and the young horse had already attempted to trot off, the boy on her back slowing her down to a stop to wait on the others.

Upon bringing his horse closer, with Havran close by with his own, Kostis looked between the three horses a few times each, now realizing how Zed's mare looked similar to both of the older mens' horses, as if a combination of both. Kostis briefly considered if he were the only one to notice this, but considered the more likely theory that he were just late towards having figured it out while the others might already have.

The man stayed silent as he mounted his stallion, shifting into place. He closed his eyes for a brief moment; he still visited his parents' current home at least fairly often. That house was still rather large, at least compared to normal folks' standards, and considered very quaint yet beautiful, but it was many times smaller and less grand than their original family home and comparably so was nothing similar. Because there wasn't much reason to go there, it had been a bit of a time since Kostis had gone to visit the former of the two homes.

Kostis nodded to the other two men, indicating they were to be off and lead them back towards the gates.

---

[Syle||Ranger]

"Then let’s not waste anymore time," Xayah nodded. "Syle, you’re good at tracking things down, right? So, you take Wallace and look for the body, I’ll be on the lookout for any dangers. Once we’re done, we’ll meet up here, at the Ruin entrance.” The assassin immediately ran off after those words.
"Wait, We shouldn't split---ah she's gone." Wallace whispered loudly after Xayah, but she was already out of sight, now far enough away to be hidden by the fog. "Is she going to be okay on her own?" The knight asked his remaining companion.
"I wouldn't underestimate her," Syle responded, already turning on foot so that they, too, could be off quickly. "We haven't seen her in action, but I doubt everyone at the castle was that scared of her without a reason. Though knights seem to overact about some things, anyway." The Ranger uttered, recalling the reaction the guards had had earlier at the palace upon seeing Xayah loose.
"Anyway, quiet down and keep up." The young man said, ignoring the scent of death clinging to the air as they passed by underneath the trees holding the dead bodies in their branches high over the two young mens' heads.

The fog still obstructed clear view for looking too far in any direction, but Syle could still see the ground with good detail for several feet around them. He trudged ahead, eyes scanning the ground, though he kept his ears perked for any possible sounds of movement other than Wallace's or his own. However, as they were now nearing closer to one of the many rivers that seemed to run through around the area, the sound of the rushing water was starting to become loud enough that it was becoming more difficult for Syle to hear himself and the knight, let alone if know, by sound, if someone else was around.
He wouldn't admit it, but did find it at least somewhat reassuring that Xayah was on the lookout as well. That is if she didn't have intentions of backstabbing them herself, but Syle decided it was better than nothing and pushed aside his thoughts.
Suddenly Syle put out a hand to stop Wallace from walking another step further. The blue haired man scanned his eyes along the ground, noticing a thin wire running closely above the cracked stone path they were walking down, connecting to the base of a nearby tree. Being someone who wasn't unused to seeing, or even sometimes making, traps similar to this himself, the assassin wasn't overly impressed by the placement.
"Seems a bit obvious to me," Syle groused, leaning down to give the wire a closer examination. Still keeping a hand out to warn the Guardian to stay back, the assassin flicked the wire gently. Almost immediately, there was a swoosh as something long and thin shot by and implanted itself into a tree several yards away, opposite of the one Syle had noticed the wire being connected to. Turning his head, he could tell it was an arrow that was now stuck into the dark bark of the tree trunk.
"First the bodies," Syle muttered, standing up and stepping casually, yet with care, over the wire, unsure of if there were more potential projectiles that could follow if touched again. "Now this." Flicking his fingers forward at his side, Syle silently instructed Wallace to follow after as he had.

The two made their way further down the pathway before Syle stopped again, crossing his arms and turning around in a 360 degree circle to examine their surroundings to either side of the stone set into the ground at their feet. Something wasn't right.
Syle suddenly looked down to the edge of the path to his right, noticing brown stain of some sort on the stone, the same coating a few blades of grass on the side. And crushed blades, too, as if recently trod upon.
Syle fell into another squat, leaning his face close to the peculiar stain that might be mistaken for dirt and sniffed it. Mostly, he smelled the dank earth of the dark forest and nearby wet-with-dew grass, but he could also make out a very faint trace of coppery musk. He then ran a finger over a blade of grass, and over the days' old blood just barely still visible on it.
"I reckon there was a squabble here," Syle commented, getting back to his feet. "Could have been anyone, but..." He drew in a deep breath through his nose. The forest was mostly still, but there was still enough of a stiff breeze blowing towards them that it brought with it a recognizable stench. It was too strong and they were now too far away from the strung up bodies for it to be emanating from those.
"I'd recommend you prepare yourself," Syle warned Wallace grimly. "I think we're close now, judging by the stink. I can tell you it won't be pleasant on the eyes or nose once we get closer."

Wallace

"Knights seem to overreact about some things anyway"

Wallace don't know what to comment on the assassin's jab so he just follow along quietly

It was a silent journey between them, safe for the sound of the rushing water thank thankfully duller the sound of his metal plates. They walked for quite a bit until Syle put his hand in front of the boy to stop him. The guardian didn't question it but he tensed up as prompt knowing that Syle must have a good reason.

"Seem a bit obvious to me" He said, and as confused Wallace followed his line of sight he could see a thin wire disguise it self along the crack on the ground, Wallace wouldn't have seen it himself if he's here alone. When the blue haired man flicked the wire, the arrow was let loose and implanted it self to the tree several yards away.

"This reminds me of one of Ishmael's trap" Wallace muttered as he inspect the process, oblivious to the fact that he might jast rattle his friend trick out to an assassin. He recalled this being how Ishmael fought as a seeker sometime. He continue to follow Syle along once Syle signaled him to. But it wasn't long until they came to the irrupted haul again, at this point Wallace reminded himself to express the older man a lot of graditude once it's safe to talk. He wouldn't make it out alive without this assassin with all these traps and looming danger.

"I'd recommend you prepared yourself " Syle said once he finished inspecting the scene "and Judging by the stink I can tell it won't be pleasent to the eyes or nosed once we get closer"

Oh boy. The guardian could smell it already and body's shaking. He grimmance and gluped but nodding and continue to follow along.

-----------------------------------------------

Ishmael

"No"

Ishmael blinked, her response and the slight nakedness of her emotion shown on her face caught him off guard, is it remorse he saw? Normally, he would have ask her, urge her to explain herself as off why she'd become a cold blood killer in the first place but instead he just evaded her gaze and direct the hateful look back toward Z again, after all the question is being direct at him and he wouldn't let them leave until he got his answer

Yet Raven once again brought his seething hatred to the idrupted stop

"You coming?"

He didn't expect the assassin to ask but now that she ask him that's a good question, going with them would be against Miriela's direct order. but after witnessing Z's method there's no way in he,ll he would let the man near Wallace or Miriela unsupervized (what was he thinking trusting that man with Miriela even however brieftly?)  As much as it's hurting he would prefer to have Miriela being disappoint in the seeker rather than seeing Z harm someone he considered a friend, physically and mentally, beside the he could asked Omisan for help overseeing the breach along with numerous guard within the castle.

But Ishmael remain silent, he can answer once he got his answer from the ex-knight.

((Don’t worry about it, I’m sure I’ll be in a similar spot when I start college this September. :P))

Kotsis moved closer towards Zed, with Harvan by his side. The boy noticed how the Champion’s eyes rotated between looking at the three horses, though the reason was a little unclear since he didn’t say anything.

The blue haired knight then nodded, indicating for them to follow.

“Now we go girl,” Zed said quietly to Diana, who seemingly understood and began following the two larger horses.

((Not to much to post for Zed this time round, sorry. Guess i’ll wait till they arrive at Kotsis’ family home. Timeskip perhaps?))

[Xayah]

It didn’t take Xayah long to to find a suitable tree and climb her way up it. She leaped from branch to branch, swinging around one of them several times, before vaulting herself up to a higher branch. At such a height, she had a wide field of vision, enabling her to detect any potential threats. The only issue was the fog, which blurred her vision slightly, though Xayah was used to attacking from the shadows and behind the smoke created by her smoke bombs. Her sense of hearing had adapted, allowing her to pick up even the faintest sounds and pinpoint her target’s location.

All of a sudden, Xayah heard something rustle beneath her, down on the forest floor...or several things, rather.

“Wolves,” Xayah muttered, spotting a pack of about 6, stealthily moving below her. “They’re hunting, but, I they’ve already passed where Syle and Wallace should be. They’re after something else. The bodies perhaps? No, they’re to high up for wolves to reach. Then what is it they’re after?” she asked herself, then suddenly realizing, “Oh no!”

((Well since I just realized our character haven’t gotten into much action yet, maybe Wallace and Syle could run into the killer of the the three hanging bodies at some point, maybe after they research Capricorn’s body, while Xayah fights the wolves. Let me know if u have a different idea.))

Rynn | Fencer

After the meeting, the others departed fairly quickly, each going their own way. Rynn wasn't completely comfortable with the fact that Princess Miriela and Z left together again, but what was to be done? It was the princess' decision what she would or would not do, and Rynn had no say or over that. The fencer briefly considered going after Wallace and his two companions, then realized that she was in no shape to fight any other potential waves of enemies. Rynn winced internally; that cut on her leg was seriously setting her behind. Maybe there would be something to help it heal more quickly at home?

Ah, home! Rynn still hadn't paid her family a visit. I should probably go do that. It's not as if there's anything left for me to do here. Well, it was better than nothing. It was on her way out the door that Rynn realized she had nearly forgotten someone else! She doubled back and headed towards the kitchen to say hello - and goodbye - to her best friend. Larissa had curly strawberry blonde hair worn in a loose headband, grey-green eyes that dulled severely when she was bored, and suffered from the bad habit of eavesdropping. The kitchen maid nearly made a racket when Rynn stepped through the door - "My goodness, what in Draoma have you done to your leg? No, nevermind, I don't want to know." - and yammered on about being more careful for several minutes afterward. While Rynn did technically have all day to talk, she would really rather be laying down in bed and not thinking at the moment, so the encounter had to be cut short. Rynn nabbed a snack from the kitchen pantry when the cook wasn't looking and told Larissa a very basic overview of what had happened between the knights and the assassins. Larissa, in turn, complained to Rynn about the apparent idiocy of the newest chef.

When all was said and done, Larissa was called back to her post to stop "flaffing about" and Rynn was shooed out of the kitchen with an enormous piece of bread in her mouth. At least she wouldn't be hungry on the way home.

((Meanwhile, I'm still in high school and homeworks are piling up like crazy xD ))

"Alright," Havran said in acknowledgement as he patted the mare's back, grinning, "Guess you gonna be stuck with me for a while, girly."

Once outside the stables, Havran mounted the mare. He looked over to Kostis for his cue, briefly catching the knight looking between the three's horses. Havran raised his brow in curiosity though he decided that it was most likely nothing important if the knight didn't voice his thoughts. Afterwards, Kostis nodded to him and Zed, signaling that they'd be off. The redhead assassin tugged on the mare's reins, beckoning her to trot gently alongside the other horses.

Kostis Wither||Champion // Syle||Ranger

((thank you guys for being understanding :'D the main reason I was so busy this past week was bc I had 2 essays due, 2 tests to study for, as well as other hw on top of it all. all this and it was only my 2nd-week eeeek. good luck with all your studies ^^

also, that's good @zero the ruthless. you can go ahead and have Xayah start a fight with the wolves, @chameishida and I can have Wallace and Syle running into the killer of the bodies within the next few posts. just want to get them finding a bit about the body and their reactions first.))

[Kostis Wither||Champion]

Though the section of the kingdom where most nobles lived in Draoma was still technically part of the city, it was definitely quieter than the bustling that came with being in most parts of the urban areas in the land. The homes were more spread apart and not stacked atop one another, as well as far more noticeably cleaner and more well-maintained. It wasn't uncommon to see commoners moving around on the streets outside the large homes, but riff raff was rather scarce, only the most skilled - perhaps with a combination of stupid - choose to mess with the hierarchy, knowing that with most nobles, if they caught the perpetrator, that there would be consequences.
The road Kostis led the others down allowed for a rather nice view of a mix of large and grandesque manors along the way. Although none could compare to the size of the royal castle itself, many looked like miniature palaces in themselves, though others were more classic and subdued.
Because nobles owned much more land than the average person, every house was rather spread out accordingly, so though most homes were within sight of one another, each family probably owned a fairly good amount of land between them as well, which kept them spread out.
Finally, there was a curve in the road. A section of trees blocked their view ahead for a few moments before they rounded the bend, and Kostis could make out a house in particular in the distance.
The manor was quite large, though definitely not the biggest of what they had seen on the way over. The building was two stories, though the hints of a cellar were also visible due to the windows set low to the ground to allow light into the underground space case they needn't use candle light on its own. The roof arched up along the different intervals, while the center was flattened into something of a veranda, enabling it for people to hypothetically walk onto if wanted or needed, balustrades wrapped around the section. Several chimneys dotted the roofline, as well, indicating most rooms had a fireplace so as to keep warm in the winter.
The home itself was pretty but in a rather quaint way. It was built primarily of a beige-colored stone, and though was clean and not showing wear, was clearly an older structure, though what came with that was the charm. A large staircase led up to the front doors, connecting to the drive that branched from the main road, the path at least several hundred yards in length.
However, this is where some certain signs that something was amiss came to be seen; many yards of nobles were filled with varieties of flowers that differed from home to home, and the grass was seemingly perfectly trimmed at all times. Though this manor's lawn had been cut fairly recently, it wasn't caught up to the extent of most homes, the grass several inches higher than probably that of the norm. There were a lack of flowers, as if because of the home being vacant, what was the need? The hedges weren't quite what one would consider overgrown, but it was obvious they weren't kept up as often as expected.
Leading Havran and Zed up the drive, Kostis noticed some weeds had sprouted up along it, having not been kept up. The Wither family still paid for the average yard work and cleaning so that the house would not fall into ruins, but not living in it, they didn't really see much point in doing but little more than the necessities.
Pulling up in front of the house, Kostis dismounted from his steed and gazed up at the manor. The many windows glinted in the late day's sun, but what caught Kostis' eyes the most was the family crest engraved into the building high above the front doors. Depicted was an upside down crescent moon over the symbol of a rose. The design was what some might consider simplistic, yet quite elegant.

Clearing his throat, Kostis turned to Havran and Zed.

"There is a small barn to the right side of the house," The knight rendered, gesturing towards the structure he were referring to, almost hidden from sight as it was almost behind the house rather than to the side.

"The horses can stay in there for the time being. There is a large, flat greenspace on the other side of the house in that direction as well, as well as a large bricked porch. Perhaps not the most ideal of places to begin training you," Kostis nodded towards Zed. "But large enough to suffice, I think."

[Syle||Ranger]

Wallace seemed to also begin to notice the odor wafting towards them and grimaced shakily, but nodded nonetheless and followed after Syle's lead.
Syle continued on, taking note of their surroundings and keeping an eye out for clues, but there was really no need for the latter as the stench of a body beginning to deconstruct became stronger and stronger as they followed along the stone path.
The track eventually became steeper and led to the beginnings of a set of cracked stone stairs leading upwards on the hilly incline towards the ruins. Though the assassin guided them up quickly, he still cautiously placed his feet on the worn stone steps to avoid slipping on their uneven and slick surface.
Finally, they came up over the top on the last step and had a view of the surrounding ruins and area. It didn't take long for Syle to understand the scene in front of him; there was blood everywhere. The pools had, for the most part, dried up, though there were some piles of gore that still looked rather sticky despite the fact they must have been laid like that several days earlier. What was most impressive, as well as chilling, about the scene was the evident amount of struggle that had played out, based on the wide array of the space where the blood and gore had spilled out around them. Though the vague signs of bloodshed were obvious in the prince's rooms, it was all kept relatively close to where the body itself was found. Evidently, the murdered assassin had put up more of a fight than the young prince. Either that or the killer really didn't mind playing around with his prey.
However ghastly the sight was, the pungent scent in the air was several times as revolting to the young assassin. Despite having come into close contact with rotting bodies before, Syle didn't have immunity to the awful stench and involuntarily gagged, forcing himself to breathe through his mouth, though the action didn't seem to block much of the odor.
"We're probably..." Syle began speaking, his voice slightly more monotone and strained as he wasn't breathing through his nose. "In the right place." Looking around the scene some more, Syle could make out the sight of a lump laying on the ground a few hundred yards away. The blue-haired assassin reached into one of the pockets of the small satchels strapped at his side and rifled around for something. After a moment he pulled out a section of cloth around the size of a handkerchief and placed it over the bottom part of his face, covering his nose and mouth, and tied it behind his head so that it stayed in place.
"You can either stay here or come along," Syle spoke in brief warning, turning his eyes to glance at Wallace for a moment. "I don't particularly care." With that, the Ranger stepped forward and made his way closer to the suspected body.
Upon approaching closer, the body was more visible, as well as a generous amount of flies buzzing around on and around the still form. Even with the cloth over his face, Syle tried not to breathe in near the bloodied corpse any more than was necessary.
What was left of the person on the ground didn't leave much for identification, not that Syle knew that Capricorn looked like, in any case. A combination of the killer's gross work, the bloating of the body having been left out in the weather for the last few days, as well as some animals, having probably been of help along the way by tearing it up more so, the body was almost recognizable. The most obvious part of the wounds conflicted to the body were the deep slashes across the front, which explained a large amount of blood surrounding the body and the remainders of innards seeping out, if anything. Syle's shoes, slightly damp from walking on the wet ground earlier, stuck uncomfortably to the dried and crusty blood under his feet when he went to crouch down beside the ugly sight.
However, Syle's sneaking suspicion that this could just as apt not be Capricorn as it was likely to be, he noticed something shiny wink out at him from beneath a section of dark, blood soaked clothing that hadn't been torn away by the slashes and cuts across the stomach and abdomen. Using his gloved fingers, Syle gingerly lifted the section of stiff-with-blood cloth away to reveal the shiny object. Though the item was crusted over with brown blood, it still obviously boasted the sign of a ram's head.
Syle was briefly surprised the killer left the metal on the body. Most assassins who killed such another high ranking assassin would keep the symbol as a prize, if not to boast about the fact that they had killed the infamous Capricorn and deserved to carry the title themselves. Not that this happened to any of the Zodiac assassins; they were so highly ranked they couldn't be killed by others, except perhaps the leaders of the league. Until now.
This proved to Syle that the killer wasn't interested in petty titles. He wanted people who came across Capricorn's body to know who the body had been. To show how powerful the killer themselves were.
"This is definitely Capricorn, alright," Syle muttered, dropping the metal disk.

Wallace knight

Even though Wallace thought he was mentally prepared the boy still let out a small but audiable yelp when he witnessed the gruesome scene in front of him. and the scent made his eyes water. Wallace has to put everything in his compose to not throwing up right there. As Syle talked to him and begin walking toward the body on his own, Wallace decicded to keep his distance for once but still took a step or two to following the blue haired assassin, just not too close to the body.

"This is capricorn, alright" The other boy eventually said, droping the metal disk with the ram head on it

"How....you...who....." Wallace mouth didn't seem to be working, he's shaking from head to toe. He gluped "Clues...any clues you find--?" the reason we're coming for in the first place

Zed and Xayah
[Zed]
After a while, Zed and the two older men had arrived at Kotsis' old family home. The Reaver found the manor to be insanely huge, compared to what he was used to.
"Whoa. This place is huge," Zed muttered.
The white haired boy dismounted his horse and had a quick look around. He was amazed at the sort of luxury nobles possessed. Above the front door was a symbol: An upside down crescent moon, and below it a rose. The design was quite simplistic, yet elegant at the same time.
That must be the Wither family crest, he deduced.
Zed was taken out of his wonderment when Kotsis spoke up.
"There is a small barn to the right side of the house," said the blue haired knight, gesturing towards the structure towards the back end of the house.
"The horses can stay in there for the time being. There is a large, flat greenspace on the other side of the house in that direction as well, as well as a large bricked porch. Perhaps not the most ideal of places to begin training you," the Champion added, nodding towards Zed. "But large enough to suffice, I think."
"Alright," the young white haired boy replied, a determined look on his face. He guided Diana into the barn before heading over to the green space Kotsis had told him about.

Havran Frieden - Scout

On the way to Kostis’ manor, Havran looked around left and right, gaping in awe at the sight of large manors, as if rivaling the royal palace. His little shack paled in comparison, not that he was embarrassed. After all, his living place only served as his place to sleep.

Soon, they arrived at the Champion’s manor. It wasn’t as big as the manors the assassin had seen on the way there but it was impressive all the same. The most noticeable feature was a symbol of an upside down crescent looming over a rose inscribed above the front doors. Havran reckoned it was the Wither family symbol.

Havran’s attention was diverted when Kostis cleared his throat. The blue-haired knight gestured to supposedly a small barn to the right of the house, telling them that the horses could stay there. He also said there was a large greenspace and a bricked porch in the direction to the barn that could serve as a training place for the young Reaver.

“Alright,” Zed said in determination before heading off to the barn with his horse, Diana.

“Nice place you got here, Blue. Though, I never really understand why people would want to have such fancy houses,” Havran remarked as he dismounted from his mare, holding her reins and leading her to the barn Kostis had mentioned, “It’s just that fancy houses scream for their things to get stolen, y’know? I mean, no one would barge into dilapidated or small houses. Wouldn’t it be safer if nobles lived in small houses like us, commoners?”

Z: Artificer, Assassin. Miriela: Warlord, Knight

(( I've been extremely busy with work and school lately so I haven't been able to post until now))

Z: Artificer

Z finally responded to the knight "Human lives are merely a resource to be used, that's how it's been since the dawn of civilization. And mind you Miriela is staying at the castle, she won't be anyone near me for this one and mind you, I'm not the one trying to kill her"

"Now, will you stay here and protect Miriela or follow me and help with her revenge?" Z's voice took and edge as he smiled an evil smile

-----------------------------------------------

Miriela: Warlord

Miriela looked out over the garden from her window and sighed. Rynn had gone home and Z had gone to deal with another matter. She hoped that at least Ishmael would stay so that she could have some backup should the need arise.

Lyra The Assassin (Duelist)

Ishmael averted her gaze but she still saw the question burn in his gaze.

'Why become an assassin?'

Lyra turned and lumbered into the carriage.

'Because of your beloved king.' She answered silently, to herself.

Raven sat black gloves clasped tightly on her lap. Her face remaining an emotionless mask. Her mother did not talk about her heritage much, nor about her father whom she barely got to know. However, on those rare days when she was in a good mood, she'd let a few things slip up. That she heard her own mother sometimes talk about the days before magic was outlawed. That her family was one of many who although may not directly have magic, still used magic to heal. When it was outlawed they were forced to move out of their homes and keep a low profile.

To give up everything they owned and live a life like a commoner, under a Lord and vassel who owned their land. And who mysteriously died one night. Not that Lyra had ANYTHING to do with that....

"Human lives are merely a resource to be used, that's how it's been since the dawn of civilization. And mind you Miriela is staying at the castle, she won't be anyone near me for this one and mind you, I'm not the one trying to kill her."

At Z's voice,Lyra shut down her train of thought. She cocked her head at the opinion. She wasn't devoid of emotion, just... Not attached to it. She thought that Z was the same way. Opinions like that can only be formed from experience. She wished she knew a bit more about his backstory, what tramatic experiences forced Z to think that. Of course, opinions could be changed, Lyra almost pitied him.
