The Aurora looks so

The Aurora looks so beautiful! The legend is so unique! The design and the colors are on point! This is my favorite so far, of course, so are the other ones. I look forward to seeing more of your amazing dragons in the future!

Thankies; thankies to all ^^

I can't tell you how happy I am to hear you all enjoy the Aurora. They are very special to me, tbh probably my favorite out of all my httyd fan dragons. <3

It's also one of the few that will be moving over to my own fantasy world... when I finally write about it :P

There's another one coming up, maybe not next but soon, that will be moving over to my own fantasy world too. they're called the Piranharrow... and they're as different from the Aurora as night is from day.

Now for those interested, a voting poll for next dragon!

Wow. Just...wow.

These dragons are amazing!! You've clearly put a lot of thought and effort into these; they're so cool! You are a seriously great artist, these pictures are breathtaking.

The Aurora is definitely my favorite, though.

FANDOMS

Ordered by preference, of course

(used to be top ten, but I have too many things that I love!)

HTTYD books/movies

(obviously, but I HAD to put that in there, it really is my favorite)

The books were SO GOOD. No swearing, no (extreme) violence (does getting eaten by a lava dragon that dives into a volcano count? Or Grimbeard the Ghastly killing his own son?) Okay, scratch the violence, but it really is pretty awesome. The characters are SO well put together, each with his or her own little quirks that make them unique, and they’re all (mostly) lovable in their own way (Alvin and Exellinor are irredeemable). The little lessons Cressida Cowell teach by inserting them into the plot are truly inspired. Can’t wait for her to write more!!! (Also, I love the quirky way she capitalizes random words to make them a little bit more important. It’s just funny to me.)

I'll leave off mentioning all the characters of the movies, because you guys know them all aready! But you may not know the Heroes who came first...

First (of course), Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III.

Rather a longish name for a smallish Viking. Hiccup is a member of the Hairy Hooligan tribe. They live on a bleak, soggy island called Berk. He has bright red hair and about a million freckles. the series starts when he's ten-and-a-half, and progresses until he is fifteen and King of the Wilderwest. His best (and, for a few books, ONLY friend) is

Fishlegs.

Fishlegs is scrawny, allergic to reptiles, pretty much scared of everything, and the only sane one of the group (well, the only sane one when Hiccup is making a Plan). But he's fiercely loyal to Hiccup, and a good deal stronger and braver than he thinks.

Next is Camicazi, who's a little too brave and fierce.

She's a Bog-Burglar, a member of an all-girls tribe of people who, well, burgle things. She is a very accomplished thief and a master escape artist.

The movies I mainly love because all the characters are so lovable, and because ever since I have wanted a Night Fury of my Very Own  (I want to fly. I want a pet. A pet that can take me flying? YAAASSSSSS). And honestly, Race To The Edge was a pretty decent, except—*gag*—for all the mushy romance—*retch*—I’m sorry, I can’t stand that stuff. *retch*

*psst! are you okay?*

*No.*

Narnia

Second in the fandom world is--you guessed it--Narnia. I have loved this world since before even HTTYD, I think. Though I'm not quite ready to meet Alsan, I would love to slip through the wardrobe for a few days--or years.

The Dragon Prince

I don't really watch cartoons (too cheesy) but I actually enjoyed this one--ugh, Nalda is going to throw a party when she sees this. (Oh, who's Nalda? Long story. I don't even know all of it. Maybe I'll get her to tell it some time.)

First up: Ezran.

One, two, three, awww!

Ezran is a cute little kid that has a good heart (according to Rayla, it's super annoying.) He has a glowtoad (named Bait), and a penchant for jelly tarts. He's sweet and innocent and he can talk to animals. Oh, and he's the crown prince. Did I mention that?

He loves his big (step)brother, Callum.

Which brings us to Callum.

Callum (the step-prince; poor Callum, no one ever lets him forget it) isn't really good at much--just art, sarcasm, and, you know, magic. (no one but he, Rayla, and Ezran know about his magic, though. I can't wait to see Soren pee his pants when Callum blasts him with lightning! Well, if that ever happens)(-_-) He only knows a few spells, but he uses them pretty darn well. Nalda and Melorenna (again, long story) and I have a theory that he might be able to do magic without a primal source (long story. Watch the series), but who knows. Season 2 is so far awayyyyy! *muffled sobs*

This is Rayla. She's a Moonshadow elf--

(called this because they go all shadowy when the moon is full, see?)

--assassin--but don't worry, she doesn't kill anybody. Honestly, I'm not sure she ever will. She's pretty stubborn and tough but super funny, and highly protective of the princes. Honestly, I'm not sure what will happen to Claudia and Soren when they find Callum and Ezran...Rayla's pretty fierce. But don't let that fool you into thinking she's a grump with no happiness. She's a big softy.

awwwwwwwww

Rayla is definitely my favorite, but the three main characters represent my three main traits: fighting (Rayla), art (Callum) and food (Ezran) (and not bad fighting; remember, Rayla is an assassin that never actually killed anyone. Poor girl was about to lose her hand and she still wouldn't kill. Then again, she had befriended Ezran at that point. Kinda tough to kill your own friends). The one thing I couldn't get over, though, (besides the king dying in the second episode) was that Rayla stole Hiccup's line:

"This. Changes. Everything."

Except she's got an Irish/Scottish accent, so it sounds a little more like:

"This. Chaenges. Evra'thin."

BLAAAAARRRGGGHHHHHHHH

Other than that, It's pretty great. I highly recommend it.

The Ever Afters (EAS)

I LOVE this series SO MUCH!!! ESPECIALLY Aurora--excuse me, Rory Landon. She is so determined and brave and gutsy and flawed and I love her.

This is Rory. Best picture of her I could find, sorry.

Rory is incredibly determined and very kind, and if not kind, then fair. Not being raised a Character really influenced her decisions for the better, in my opinion. What's funny is that all her fighting to not be famous like her parents and not be like the Snow Queen was really what made them so much like them, only better (and by better, I mean more good and more awesome).

Rory is very loyal to her friends. Wel, two friends in particular, really: Chase and Lena.

This is Chase. Except in the books he had curly hair. Book covers don't always speak truth.

Chase Turnleaf is a little cocky, a little showy, but he's not only believable, he's lovable, something that's not easy to pull off when you're cocky and showy. He's pretty cool, what with being Jack and the Beanstalk/Jack the Giant Killer's son, but his Fey mom makes up for his inattentive dad--or is it the other way around? Hmmmm... Anyway, he's incredibly loyal, especially to Rory. But he's tricky. Veeeery tricky.

Lena LaMarelle is a mad scientist.

Okay, not really, but she is a magical inventor. She's really good at it, too. She is kind and always knows how to cheer Rory up. Rory is particularly protective of her, because lena isn't much of a fighter and, though her inventions are pretty cool, she tends to be on the absentminded side, thus needing a bit more protection.

Story Thieves

Oh, hooray, it's time to introduce the team! (I love these people)

Unfortunately, I could find no pictures of these amazing heroes. *sigh*

Anyway, Bethany Sanderson is the red-haired girl on 60% of the covers. She's half-fictional--she had a dad that was fictional, and a mother that was not. He disappeared when she was four, and she's been jumping into books (oh, yeah, she can do that--half-fictional and all) to find him ever since.

Owen Conners (the dirty-blond guy on 80% of the covers) is a normal boy who wants a big adventure (don't we all, kid). He is constantly reading and is basically wikipedia for every fiction ever. He catches Bethany jumping into a book and asks her to take him into the Kiel Gnomenfoot Series, where he...messes everything up. Way to go, Owen.

Kiel Gnomenfoot, master of magic (until he forgets it all--not his fault) and hero extraordinaire is a bit of a show-off at first, but he actually becomes really nice and a very good friend to Bethany. He talks and brags a little too much sometimes, but that's a hazard of being a fictional character.

Charm is Kiel's friend, kinda like Hermione and Harry. Kiel's talented at magic, sure, but Charm is incredibly smart, and half-robot to boot. Don't get on her bad side by acting stupid (or existing), and do not, under ANY circumstances, tell her any puns. You have been warned.

Kara Dox is the final person to join. She's a time traveler that is immune to paradoxes, due to being born in a time bubble, or something like that. Wierd, huh? She's the girl with pink hair on the 4th book, Pick the Plot (which, btw, is an actual pick-a-plot book--SO MUCH FUN, just don't get Owen eaten). She's incredibly loyal and very protective of Owen, due to the prophecy that her best friend will hideor whatever (which several future Owens have, actually. Time travel is confusing).

My favorites are actually Kiel and Owen. No girls this time around, which is really unusual for me. But these two are special. Hope they have all the adventures they can imagine...and maybe a few safer ones.

Harry Potter

I am a proud Gryffindor/Thunderbir--okay, yes, I am Gryffindor, but I'm really a Pukwudgie. A PUKWUDGIE. NO. WAY. This is a FICTIONAL UNIVERSE and I will NOT BE CONTAI-- sorry, I have really strong feelings about this. Let's just say that I prefer to be a six-winged magical bird that controls the weather instead of a hairy arrow-shooting house elf.

Harry Potter is a pretty cool universe to imagine yourself into, but I honestly don't love the books as much as I used to. I found a lot more fandoms that are just more...me.

That being said, I loved Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Crimes of Grindlewald was okay, but the first is still my favorite.

Look! See how pretty!

Okay, just a heads up, I am still collecting art from previous requests, so if you did something for me and it isn't up yet, I promise I haven't forgotten; I love all the art that is done for me!

ART DONE BY ME

Wow, you made it far! *applauds*

This is my very first drawing:

I'Z DRAWN NIGHT FURIES!!!!!! LOOK HOW PRETTY!!!!!

...I REALLY love Night Furies, in case you hadn't noticed. I love them to the point that Light Furies are heresay in my mind (sorry, but it's a fact).

I also love The Dragon Prince. So I decided to try and draw my favorite character, Rayla.

It's traced (obviously; I'm not that good), but not bad, eh?

I saw LissaFish's griffins and was just blown away. So, I looked at the pictures closely and tried to replicate the technique...kinda. Didn't turn out quite like hers, but that's okay. I'm improving!

This is an unfinished sketch of my character, The Dragoness (also my profile picture). I'll do the background, of course, but I liked this so much I couldn't resist using it prematurely. Not bad, but I could definitely do better.

I may do art trades and such, but for now, I'm just working on getting this new art under my fingers. I have a lot to learn!

Not sure about that one

Not sure about that one, seeing an Aurora is very special. Gentle as they are I don't think these would be tamable dragons. Even if they could be around you without harming you with radiation, they're awefully big and we're awefully small

The Aurora

I just realized that the Aurora dragons could be related to the Dragon Guardians of Tommorrow! They are said to prefer living in the upper atmosphere and can sometimes be mistaken for shooting stars!

I feel like your fan-dragons bridge some kind of gap between Book dragons and Franchise Dragons :)

O.o

I just looked those up. You're right! But the Aurora are much more friendly than those are.

I have read most of the books but I couldn't bring myself to finish the series simply because it always makes me really sad when I come to the end of something and puts a damper on my creativity.

But in short, yes, I try to take some of Cressida's imaginative creations and some of the franchises' animal and science-based designs and mesh the two worlds together- with a cherry on top that's my own style :P ^^

The Piranharrow

This dragon is probably the most developed out of all the dragons I have and one of the original three- the other two being the Cunning Kyte and The Malicious Mimikoo

I've mentioned them in my fanfic

"Sleepy Hollow" tail of a Sinistrous Woodreaper- a creationo of Chameishida's

And

"The Barbaric Archipelago"

A submission to a writing contest here on the forum, held last year about this time.

In the not-too distant future, they will aslo be gracing my novel,

"ECLIPSE"

And they will be in full-force

So at long, long last, I present and hope that you enjoy

Piranharrow

(Peer-in-arrr-oh)

Or

(Piranha-row)

depends on where you come from.

Piranharrow are small, mouse-like dragons that live in swarms of billions. Scavengers, they are dreaded for the way they consume everything in their path, be it on land, sky, or sea.

Inspiration:

Rat

Piranha

Bullet

Rocket/aircraft

Network

Size:

2-3 inches long

1-2 in tall

6-8 inch tail

Description:

Small, armored body, short legs, small wings for body size, unusually long tail with a shard on the end, ridged sail along back. Large eyes, sharp, pointed nose, small mouth, gills

Colors:

Silver grey and black- with a metallic shine

Class:                    Strike

Ability:                 Electric pulse communication

Attack:                 10

Speed:                 10

Armor:                 10

Shot Limit:          0

Venom:                0

Jaw Strength       8

Stealth                 0

Flight:

The Piranharrow propels itself. The wings are used for take-off, landing and steering, but it’s the tail that does the heavy lifting. Spinning rapidly, it propels the small creature through the sky.

Weaknesses:

Size, maneuverability, being grounded, certain types of electricity, lava, storms.

Courtship:

None.

Natural Enemies:

The Night Furry. A creature (not dragon) the size of a cat but with huge ears and bat wings, also tail fin and sail like a Night Fury. Agile in the air, they can outmaneuver the Piranharrow and capture them.

And

The Mind-Bender. Although not as keen to prey on Piranharrow, the Mind Benders’ electro-magnetic pulse is on a similar frequency to the dragons. They can scramble the communications of half the Piranharrow swarm, causing utter and total chaos.

Social behavior:

The little dragons are almost exclusively guided by instinct. On the ground they are like mice, running each other over, scurrying about, gooming, fighting, pushing and shoving for every bite of food. In the air they are organized, cooperative and rarely collide.

Piranharrow swarm in masses of tens of billions and even trillions. The swarm can be miles long, an evil black ribbon resembling poison in the jet streams of the sky. They communicate via electric pulse. The shard in the tail sends the signal (can receive if connected to transmitter), the ridge in their back receives via airwaves. This allows them to communicate with the whole swarm and the scouts. This is also how they tell each other apart. Each dragon has a unique signal.

There are two types of Piranharow, black and scout. Black piranharrow make up 99.9% of the swarm and know only to eat, sleep, avoid Night Furries and multiply. Scouts are silver, camouflaging better than black as they live their lives a day ahead of the swarm. There’s only one scout to every thousand Piranharrow so they are relatively rare. Their job is to warn of trouble ahead, such as a storm or colony of Night Furries. they send involuntary messages back to the alpha who will reroute the swarm. It doesn’t much help the scout though.

If a Scout Piranharrow loses signal with the alpha and/or it comes across a creature/viking while on the ground, and survives, the event will stimulate brain function. It triggers a sort of awareness in the dragon, which releases the alpha’s control over it. This is very rare though since a grounded piranharrow is defenseless and usually just gets stomped or eaten.

Alpha:

Everything a swarm does is by the command of the alpha. He/she controls them. Alphas are Scouts who have been ‘awoken’ for lack of a better word, as above describes. They take initative, plot courses and send out orders. Their messages are deliberate while all other Piranharrow messages are involuntary, a reaction to their situation.

Once an alpha’s control has been released, a scout dragon can send its’ own messages or challenge the alpha. This is often unsuccessful since the alpha will command all the other Piranharrow to attack the rogue. More often an alpha will hideof natural causes and whatever piranharrow happens to be ‘aware’ next will take his place. If there isn’t one at the time, the dragons loop their last course until a new alpha shows up.

Attack:

Individual Piranharrow attack with deadly force. Gathering speed in the high-elevation winds, they lock keen eyes on a target and dive bomb. The friction of their dive causes their noses to glow, reaching thousand-degree temperatures. Folding their sails and wings back, they allow their madly spinning tails to whirl their bodies. The speeding, spinning and thousand-degree dragons sear right through the bodies of their victims.

The swarm attacks by simply eating whatever they land on or next to that isn’t another (living) Piranharrow.

When the swarm attacks it cannot be survived- but it can be evaded. Seek shelter. A deep cave or well would work, a storm cellar would be best. As long as it is made of stone or metal of some sort and deep underground, past all tree roots. After the swarm has run its’ course it will take years for the seas and woods and land to recover, but at least you’ll have lived to see another day.

When dealing with an individual, they can be outmaneuvered. Their extreme speed strictly limits curvature in their flight. Think of them like homing missiles.

Diet:

All organic matter. When the Piranharrow come through they leave behind rock, salt water and dirt. Nothing else.

Hatchlings:

Hatchlings can fly an hour after hatching. Incubation takes only two days and a female can lay as many as twenty eggs at a time. The most time a female Piranharrow will spend on ground is roughly three days.

 Viking and Dragon: Connecting…

Humans and Piranharrow share a similar electro-magnetic pulse. If a Viking places the shard part of a Piranharrow’s tail to their wrist and holds it there for thirty seconds the dragon will learn that Vikings’ electric pulse pattern. They connect, and the Viking becomes that dragon’s alpha. He will now go wherever that Viking wants him to go, do whatever that viking wants him to do. They make excellent hunting dragons. In fact, one of the few things that visibly brings them pleasure is to be launched into the air via bow and arrow. Vikings even use them in place of arrows… and the Piranharrow have no qualms about it.

Most Piranharrow will blindly follow orders but scouts take bonding. With a scout the wavelength goes two ways and as stated above such interactions stimulate brain function in the dragon. Every now and then he’ll insert his own opinion on a matter and the Viking will be sitting there thinking “Now where did that thought come from?”

If a someone has the great fortune of bonding with a scout that, one way or another, has become alpha of the Piranharrow, they control the entire swarm. Pray such a dragon never falls into the wrong hands!

Fun Facts:

Individual Piranharrow usually can’t leave the ground from a stand-still. Their wings are too small for lift off and the tail can’t get up to speed. The dragon has to find a cliff, strong winds, or assistance from other piranharrow already in the air. If the wind is strong enough a Piranharrow can jump, using it’s powerful little legs to get air without any other aid. This inability to lift off is a big weakness. Should you dare, the best time to capture piranharrow is while they are on the ground.

With a propeller for a tail and gills as a backup oxygen system they’re just as at home in the water as they are in the sky. Depth is limited though.

Piranharrow use the jet streams to travel over the longest stretches of ocean. Marine life tends to be more active closer to the coastlines so the greater part of the Atlantic and Pacific ocean don’t hold enough food for them.

Awesome! I love all the

Awesome! I love all the detail you put into your dragons! I developed one called the brain-bender. It was in a dream I had and I named it after I woke up XD. Since you have the mind-bender, I might hange the name now.

Cool!

The Mind-Bender is realtivly new so he won't be arriving on the forums just yet. But I'm really starting to like them, so maybe sooner than later^^

Originally I was going to have the primary disruptor be the Grapple Grounder because they just don't get enough love as it is. But then I created these guys and realized they are the perfect adversary for the Piranharrow.

I would love to hear about the Brain Bender! and you needn't change the name on my account. I don't mind. (Oops punny XP) Maybe they can be related species :D

Aww, thanks :-)

You should post your dragons. You don't have to have lots of detail written about them for people to enjoy them, I certainly would!

WHAT AN AWESOME DRAGON!!!

WOW!!! What an awesome little dragon!!! I really loved reading about it, and all the depth and details you go into are awesome!!! I think my favourite thing about them is how they get launched by bow and arrow!!! I love that idea!!! Although I think it would be REALLY terrifying meeting a swarm...

I do have a few questions though:

1. You mentioned how they use their tails to propel themselves, so is it similar to the Whispering and Screaming Death flying methods?

2. This one is very weird, but are they easily disorientated by a specific noise? I know the electric pulses from other dragons can disorientate them, but what about a specific noise? Maybe a high pitched whistling sound?

3. What about training them? You need to touch their tail to send electric pulses, but wouldn't you have to gain their trust first? How would you do that? Maybe are they lured in by a specific food?

Once again, I really love the Piranharrow and I can't wait to see when you do another dragon!! Also an unrelated question, but will you be putting any of your fan dragons up for adoption?

Thanks!!! :D

Swarm? No thank you.

Good questions!

1 Propulsion

Essentially I think they're supposed to work the same way. However the piranharrow spin their tails so rapidly it's just a whirr. The idea came from jet propulsion in airplanes. I don't know very much about the Whispering Death, this could be the same for them too

2.

I'd have to say no. They live with constantly whirring tails and flapping wings. I've never thought about how good their hearing is, probably standard or less. Also there's only one dragon that can effect the swarm. Grapple Grounders, Skrill and Nightfury are able to agitate them but they're not on the same wavelength so it only affects the Piranharrow within blasting range

3

Most Piranharrow you don't have to bond with. It's better if you do, but if you catch one and 'connect' to it's wavelength... they're cool with that.

Scouts on the other hand do take bonding because thems' got 'tudes XD

I would not reccomend food. For most dragons food is a better tool for training, and then only in very very small quantities of something special. Like a treat.

For my dragons bonding takes a few steps. The first is studying. Study how the dragon reacts to it's surroundings, and other dragons. What makes it happy, what are signs of happiness, what makes it angry, what are signs of anger. Through this you can learn it's body language. Step two is introduce yourself. Let the dragon (if it hasn't already) become aware of you. Then let it learn your body language and your boundaries. You don't have to be mean, but you must be firm. Yes is yes and no is no. If you are not alhpa, then the dragon controls what you both do and that's not a healthy place for either of you. Step three is step back. Now that the dragon is familiar with and aware of you, you have to let them decide if they want to become a part of your pack/herd. In the end, the bonding itself will be up to the dragon.

There are of course exceptions to all these steps. Accidental bondings or bondings when the dragon is the one looking for a friend and the person didn't even know it happen a lot. A lot depends on the personality of the human and the dragon

Thanks for commenting on the Piranharrow and for the questions! I hope I've answered them :3

Ooh, cool!

Wow, this one is really cool! I love the "bonding" thing with the electromagnetic pulses especially. Oh, and the bow and arrow thing: adorable! (The fact that you put "arrow" in their name hit me right after reading the pronunciation. Very creative!)

(But the swarm is terrifying... I would not want to meet up with one!)

Nope.

Me neither D:

Thanks! When I first created them I called them thunder arrows because the black cloud looked and sounded like a thunderstorm, but I liked piranharrow way better.

NIGHT FURRIES!

Wow, I must have been really tired when I posted... Because I forgot to mention just how much I love the Night Furry! It is so adorable and ferocious and adorable and I need one now, where can I get one! I adore cats and dragons, so the Night Furry (Also, the name is wonderful. I love it!) has effectively captured my heart. (I read your short story The Barbaric Archipelago, and the scene with the Night Furries is adorable)

If you ever do an adoptable with them, please let me know! I'd love to adopt one! (Although, my cat might not be so happy...)

Dragons I own and love as if they were my children:

(I didn't plan on having this many dragons lmao, so here's the short list and below that is the detailed one if you feel like it. The dragons are the last part of the signature)

Grandcanyon - Male Sandwraith

Firebringer - Female Monstrous Nightmare

Iceberg - Male Groncicle

Grimmer - Female Whispering Death

Shockjaw - Male Skrill

Seafoam - Male Scauldron

Swampdiver - Female Mudraker

Torchnight - Male Monstrous Nightmare

Ironclaw - Female Armorwing

Acidrain - Female Flame Whipper

Goldwing - Female Razorwhip

Sirencall - Male Deathsong

Shiverbeast - Female Stormcutter

Oceaneyes - Female Raincutter

Bonfire - Male Monstrous Nightmare

Bass & Wood - Male Hideous Zippleback

Pinkspark - Female Singetail

Lonquimay - Male Eruptodon

Grandcanyon - Male Sand Wraith

The first dragon that Parakeet owned, since is the one she helped escape from the Hunters. Basically the Dad Friend of the Dragons, endless pacience and loyalty. Loves to bury himself in sand, and often runs around in two legs

Firebringer - Female Monstrous Nightmare

Not the brightest Monstrous Nightmare in the bunch, but she tries, she is the first dragon Parakeet ever trained since hatched, she acts like an annoying big sister and likes to bite a lot, an habit that she got from when she was a baby, and Parakeet never corrected. She also saves Parakeet from falling a lot

Iceberg - Male Groncicle

Enjoys Berks climate, doesnt particularly enjoy Firebringer's attention, likes to chill (hehe) with Parakeet rather than do flips in the air, prefers islands with snow, and is a picky adventurer. If dragons can eyeroll, he's doing it all the time. He just doesn't have the patience to deal with his new trainer but still does, cause he appreciates the help she offered him

Grimmer - Female Whispering Death

When Valka gave Parakeet a Whispering Death egg, she wasnt very sure to be able to train her properly, since Whispering Deaths are terrifying. Now she thinks her Nightmare Eyes are endearing and even climbs into her mouth to show how gentle she can be. Although Grimmer is prone to jealousy she has a soft spot for Seafoam, whom, alongside Parakeet, she saved from a sinking Outcast ship as an egg

Shockjaw - Male Skrill

A very hard to read guy, Parakeet isnt sure of his personality, since he doesnt seem to show any, even tho he got him as an egg. He loves to fly and do tricks, but outside it, he's a mystery. If there's anything Parakeet learned from him, is that he is competitive, and enjoys racing, so Shockjaw is her main go to dragon from when she wants to race

Seafoam - Male Scauldron

He likes to spit his boiling hot water at people when he's happy. Look out. Parakeet has her shield in hand at all times because of this. He's learning to just create bubbles, but it's a work in progress. Considers Grimmer his mom, mostly because she doesn't let other dragons aproach him much

Swampdiver - Female Mudraker

Loves to swim around, with all of her family members, and sleep on her trainer's chest (wich was cute when she was small...) she probably believes Parakeet is another small dragon since she always tries to drag her into the water and not let her go. That or she's trying to drown her... Let's hope for the first one

Torchnight - Male Monstrous Nightmare

Altho not the first Monstrous Nightmare she trained, Torchnight prooved to be a very hard case to work with, since the dragon would just not listen to her and go off to his own business, often hitting her with his tail without realizing. The only command he seems to understand on land is when Parakeet hits her chest to call him, wich is when he just launches himself towards her. It was cute when he was younger and it worked, now it's coming back to haunt her and pin her to the ground

Ironclaw - Female Armorwing

Because of the abuse of the Hunters, Ironclaw is very shy and defensive, but with care and the other dragons help she's coming to be a very curious girl. She loves to watch Parakeet work and will often try to take her helmet off to put into her armor

Acidrain - Female Flame Whipper

A mischievious prankster who loves to play hide and seek with her trainer, she always cheats by hiding in places Parakeet can't access on her own. Likes to surprise and scare dragons and people alike, as well as sleep on the job. Loses her tail all the time whenever she gets scared

Goldwing - Female Razorwhip

Responsible and serious, almost doesnt like to play, only when she's sure Parakeet is done with any quests she has, talk about the mom of the group. Rarely plays with the other dragons, gets along the best with Grandcanyon, silently judges the rest, come on girl, you gotta have more fun.

Sirencall - Male Death Song

A sweet, sweet boy. Playful and kind, like a little brother for the rest of the dragons, also a little prankster, he likes to sing to lure other dragons, and then just flies around with a flock of dragons behind him. Kind of hard to explain to other trainers that he's a bit excentric, to not say otherwise. If fed up Parakeet will start to sing real loud to shut him up, wich  offends him but succesfully gets the point across

Shiverbeast - Female Stormcutter

Surprisingly gets scared of storms, she can't fly through one, Parakeet learned this the hard way, loves to swim and "fly" underwater, a great explorer of the great seas. Well, the sea during storms is scary, perhaps that's the reason. Rather small for her breed, but she's also young, so it's to be expected, she eats as much as the others after all

Oceaneyes - Female Raincutter

Like most Raincutters, Oceaneyes loves to fly through rain (looking at you Shiverbeast), and do tricks, the only problem is that in the rain she becomes more slick and it gets hard to get a good grip on her, so no tricks allowed until we get a saddle for you girl, she gets moody if the weather isn't optimal for her, if there's high winds, or too much sun she rather sleep. Loves to fly off in the morning dew, and Parakeet would love to join her, if she was a morning gal. "Also, hehe, duck feet" Parakeet, probably

Bonfire - Male Monstrous Nightmare

Much younger than the other Monstrous Nightmare, he is like the spoiled little brother. A master at playing victim, likes to sleep on top of Firebringer and Torchnight, even when neither of them like it most of the time he gets his way. Likes adventuring but gets scared really easily, so Parakeet can't fly with him through the night. When he lights himself on fire his flames are weaker than most other Nightmares, Parakeet still doesnt understand why.

Bass & Wood - Male Hideous Zippleback

Bass is the gas, Wood is the spark, they hate each other and are constantly snapping and trying to bite the other, Parakeet has to pet both at the same time if she wants to have peace. They barely get anything done, including flying, except when they're practicing with Astrid and Parakeet, that's the only time they'll work together

Pinkspark - Female Singetail

She's more wild than trained, absolutely refuses to get a saddle on her, so Parakeet has given up on that. Sometimes sleeps in the stables, sometimes flies away for entire weeks before coming back to Parakeet, needles to say she was terrified at first and didnt sleep right until she knew Pinkspark was safe. Equal times playful and serious, gets reasonably along with the other dragons.

Lonquimay - Male Eruptodon

He likes napping more than he does anything else, and Parakeet can relate to that. He doesnt often do anything else other than sleeping or eating, but Parakeet likes to fly around with him when he feels like it, cause she feels high and mighty on top of the dragon. Other than that, she also enjoys napping with him or just reading some books while resting alongside him.

The Flip Flopper

The Blue Footed Flip-Flopper

Graceful by sea and sky, the Flip-flopper gets its name for its bumbling beach strolls during nesting season. Multitudes of Females swim to the coast of Flip-Flopper Bay, waddling up the beach with wings raised and tripping over their own feet. Sometimes they get their sword-like noses stuck in the earth

Reaching dry sand they dig a hole, lay their eggs and return to sea. The young hatch two weeks later all at the same time. In a massive exodus they cross the sandy beach and dive into the ocean. This is such an amusing sight that Vikings come from every corner of the archipelago to watch and cheer the brave little dragons on!

Size:

Length: 20-25ft (Tip of sword to tail)

Height: 12-14ft

General Description:

2 wings, two dorso fins, fish-like tale, 2 large, webbed feet, long, sword-like snout, very large round eyes, crest along back of head and neck, gills

Color: Browns, blues, greens, purples and pinks with dark speckles. See Rainbow Trout. Bright blue feet, transparent green/blue wings and fins.

Subspecies:

Subspecies have been documented solid deep blue or grey, with a single dorso fin that’s much bigger than the above, but the dragon itself is smaller

examples:

Inspirations:

Rainbow Trout

Blue footed Boeby

Swordfish

Flying Fish

Sea Turtle

Blasters from Star Wars

Glossary:

Marlin (Male)

Sailfish (Female)

Bale (group of hatchlings)

Flotilla (mixed group)

Armada (group of females)

Hatchling (baby)

Class:                    Tidal

Ability:                 Laser blast

Attack:                 5

Speed:                 8

Armor:                 3

Shot Limit:          15

Venom:                0

Jaw Strength       0

Stealth                 4

Fire Type:

A short, accurate laser blast. They can fire repeatedly with less than half a second between rounds

Animation:

Swordfish in the water, penguin like on ground

Offense: Laser fire, sword to sword, will also kick and scratch with powerful legs

Defense: Same as above but first choice is to flee- they’re fast swimmers

Courtship:

Males show off their bright blue feet. If a female thinks he’s attractive she’ll show off her bright blue feet

Challanging:

The battling males begin by tapping swords. They can swim away if they want to back out, but after the second tap the duel has begun. The battleground starts in the water but it can travel from there to sky and ground, wherever it leads, and they can last as long as five hours. Incidentally, Flip-Floppers are not the type to fight to the death. A marlin has won when he holds his opponent at an inescapable pose that he could deliver a fatal blow in. The two tap swords and the defeated dragon leaves.

Diet:

A strict diet of fish

Poison:

None

Natural Enemies:

Scauldrons, Great whites and Orcas

Hatchlings:

Eggs are buried under three feet of dry sand by the mother. The hatchlings have to dig their way out and make it across the beach all on their own. Lots of birds and other creatures know when they’ll be making this run, so the journey is dangerous. Only half of the Flip-Floppers make it to the ocean

Eggs:

Plain round and white

Training:

Can they be trained? Yes, quite easily in fact. They're good natured and as long as you have a large body of saltwater nearbye, easy maintanance. Babies are easier to train than wild adults.

Fun Facts:

Vikings try not to get too involved in the fate of hatchling flip-floppers, but sometimes they can’t help themselves and escort the little ones by warding off hungry seagulls and albatross.

Flip-Floppers fold their wings and tuck in their legs when they’re in water, appearing more fish-like and giving themselves an edge over scauldrons who are not as aerodynamic in the water

They shoot lasers blasts out of their swords- and it sounds like starwars XD

It is said that the rules of engagement in fencing were derived from the observations of battling Flip-Floppers

Yay!! Another fan species!!!

Oh. My. THOR!!!!! These guys have got to be my favourite out of all your fan species!!!! I love them so much!!!! They are so cute (well the way they act at least XD) and they are so kind and I love them!!! XD

You have done such an awesome job on them! Everything from the detailed descriptions to the amazing artwork, it makes it so cool! Also, the dragon to Viking scale is really useful because I initially thought they were like hummingbird size! Guess not! XD

Can I just say one more time, JUST HOW MUCH I LOVE THESE GUYS!!! I would love to have my own, and it would be very easy as well, because where I live there is a LOT of ocean so no problem about them thriving in their habitat! I would look after them VERY well!

If these ever go up for adoption/requests I will definitely be the first to get one!! I can’t wait to see your next fan species!! Thanks for making my day with something as awesome as the Flip-Flopper! (The name is also amazing!! :D)

En garde!

Yeah they're not the prettiest but it was fun making them chivalrous. They're behavior and appearance are so opposing.

I'll let you know when I put them up for adoption ^^

Aw, how cute!

Aw, cute! It'd be fun to ride one of these in the ocean, as long as it takes you up for air a lot! Riding one when it's jumping out of the water sounds amazing! (I'd be one of those people who protects the babies when they are heading for the sea... They're too cute to not protect!)

cute babies

I would too. My Mom was in Cancun a few years ago and they saw baby sea turtles! Turns out a lot of people IRL protect them from gulls and other predators. I would SO be one of those protective people! GET OUT OF HERE YA STUPID BIRDS! YA AIN'T MAKING A SNACK OF THESE LITTLE ANGELS! GO ON YA SKY RATS! SCAT! SHOO! *throws rocks at seagulls to keep them away from the babies - making sure not to hit the babies of course*

Hi guys! Swooping in with a new dragon!

These guys are farely new but they've grown on me fast!

I hope you enjoy them as much as I've enjoyed

creating them ^^

Also I'd just like to say thanks to everyone for commenting on me different dragons. It's so kind of you and I get a better idea which ones to prioritize for future adopts :D

Okay, without further ado

The Whippoorwillow

These delicate dragons are sensitive souls. Seeking out the wildlife of their islands to protect it from both man and dragon, Whippoorwillows corral the animals into a safe haven. Together they create a powerful magnetic forcefield even the strongest of dragons are challenged to break.

Fire Type:

A WhippoorWillow’s power is in it’s tail. They are magnetic and/or electromagnetic and can be both positive and negative (not at the same time), but only when the dragon runs the tail through the two red crests on it’s forehead. The tail can throw people, rocks, boulders, and dragons without even touching them. The direction it runs it’s tail through the crests determines negative/positive charge and magnetic vs electromagnetic

Animation:

Fast beating wings like an insect legs out behind like a crane in flight. Emu/velociraptor on ground

Offense: Magnetic propulsion

Defense: Magnetic force field

Social:

Whippoorwillows live in mixed groups of young, males and females that are called flocks. They average 20-30 individuals on the smaller scale and upwards of 45 on the higher. The alpha is called a Point. They communicate by clacking their mouths and overall cooperate like a predatory pack- except they’re here to save their quarry

Courtship:

See crane dance. When a pair mates it’s for life

Challanging:

Since Whippoorwillows mate for life there’s very few disputes over mates. Occasionally they’ll bicker over food but that’s not common either. Flocks will battle each other for nesting territory especially when a new flock intrudes on an established flock’s turf. These usually end with the intruding flock being chased away

Hunting/Diet:

Grasses, lake plants, some fruits and berries, worms and bugs

Poison:

None

Natural Enemies:

All dragons and most predators

Hatchlings:

Whippoorwillows flocks migrate south to the nesting grounds over the coldest part of winter. They build in trees… or the occasional abandoned barm, and their nests are made to last so they can return to them every year, repairing and expanding until either the nest falls or the tree does.

Both parents care and provide for the young. They teach them wing exercises and reward them for good effort and courage. This all prepares the young Whippoorwillows for the long journey back home in the spring.

Eggs:

Twice the size of a chicken egg with Pastel colors of whatever the parents colors are plus a black stripe longways down the middle. Really can’t be mistaken for any other egg.

Training:

The Whippoorwillow is easily trained and extremely useful.

Training: They respond best to click commands as clacking is their natural communication. Coming from a pack mentality most are very eager to please- all except the alpha types. Those are a little more challenging but bonding with them is rewarding and helpful since the others will follow the Point’s lead. All Whippoorwillows are affectionate and show it by grooming you with their beak-like snouts or snuggling close to you when its dark and they’re ready to roost.

Care: If you get Whippoorwillows you’ll want more than one. They don’t do well without each other’s company and become fearful and depressed. Also be careful with your other dragons and do not leave them unattended. They will look at your new Whippoorwillows as food because it’s in their nature, but just like cats and dogs they can learn to get along.

Uses: Though they’re too small for even the average ten-year-old to ride Whippoorwillows have other useful attributes. Their electromagnetic tails can manipulate the force of gravity, making it possible to move massive objects. They’re exceptionally good with livestock, and with the ability to generate protective forcefields in high demand for defense.

Fun Facts:

There is no visible force coming from the Whippoorwillows’ magnetic positive or negative charge attacks, so many people thought they were the magical creations of a sorcerer

Whippoorwillows have two other names: Cavorites and Meddling Mayhems.

In the wild they can become a real nuisance to livestock farmers. Not because they eat the livestock, but because they think the farmers are going to hurt them, so they won’t let the farmers come near! This doesn’t end well for the livestock though because the Whippoorwillows assume they know how to forage on their own.

They’re also known to over-protect at the cost of other dragons. One island was recorded to have been covered brown in lemmings that all wanted to jump in the ocean but the Whippoorwillows wouldn’t let them. On the outside of their protective forcefield were dozens of hungry dragons. Their meddling and the way they cause mayhem by manipulating gravity has earned them a poor reputation.

On the other hand, tamed Whippoorwillows are the best livestock keepers. From reindeer to yaks to sheep, boars and chickens. They can herd and track on their own or take cues from you. If you teach a Point Whipporwillow where you want the animals and when, the flock will do it! And even if you’re don’t want them to, they’ll protect your animals, and you, at the cost of their own life.

The electromagnetic power of this dragon’s tail is so strong that even after it dies the area around it will experience strange gravitational phenomena- up to an acre’s length in distance. Examples are of rocks floating inches above the ground, people and animals being able to walk up the sides of cliffs, pockets of ‘lost’ gravity. Gravity itself is not actually lost the magnetic waves emanating from the deceased dragon’s tail are simply interfering with it.

Interesting note: If the dragon dies with say, a negative charge in its tail then the negative charge is all that will emanate from it. If it dies without a charge all charges are fighting each other at the same time, creating instability in gravity.

Sadly these dragons are harvested for their tails. Who wants to waste the time training something when you can destroy it and use that power yourself? All a villainous personality has to do is run the dragon’s tail through its double crest, in whatever direction will get him the result he wants, kill. it, chop the tail off and now he has the weapon or tool he needed, no further effort or care required. Capturing them is easy too, because during nesting season they won’t abandon their hatchlings and give themselves up. The worst of these Vikings don’t even bother kill.ing the animal and just chop the tail off, leaving them defenseless.

Between this and the aggression of other dragons Whippoorwillows have become very scarce. When Berkians learned about a small flock near Melody island they took it on themselves to guard the dragons. Since then the flock has tripled in size and some of the dragons have bonded and returned with the Vikings to Berk

The call of a Whippoorwillow is the only ungraceful thing about it. It’s loud and silly and sounds like “Whoop Whoop! Giddya!” Whoop Whoop! Giddya!”

When moving a herd or corralling smaller animals the dragon will crack its tail like a whip. They’ll do this when they’re being aggressive with each other, too.

The “Willow” part of the Whippoorwillow comes from the way the dragons roost at night. The flock gathers in a snag and let their tails dangle down. Between the wings and the stringy tails the snag often ends up looking like a weeping willow tree.

Having trouble with an invasive animal species? Catch one and show it to your whippoorwillows, then tell them to corral the critters. You’ll have every single one of those rabbits, mice, or rats rounded up within twenty four hours. Neatly place the critters in comfortable barrels and fly them over to an uninhabited island. Problem solved! Just don’t forget to let a few go to repopulate; Whippoorwillows are very thorough!
