"Yeah I'll be staying close to 'protect' you," Salastar replied to Cere, smiling. "Though in my opinion I think you could easily protect from most anything," he added humorusly, gently reaching up to grab the ice flower from her hair before she could even reply.

"But whats the fun in that? I could use some protecting," she commented softly, watching as he crushed the ice flower in his hand only to reveal a white lily. With her sharp eyes, Cere noticed that he looked rather...drained after doing that. Placing a warm hand on his cheek, the witch brought his face closer to her's and locked eyes with him, thinking deeply as the many voices in her head tried to stop her. "Thank you," Cere said, placing the hand that wasn't on his face on the flower, her eyes still locked with his. At that moment, Cere couldn't care less about the knights being there. Diplomacy or not, Moon already hated her.

But, Inferno doesn't care. A dark force spread across her head in waves, and sparks flashed in her eyes. It did not hurt, but it was glaring enough that she dropped her eyes and her hand from Salastar. "Sorry," Cere said after the flashes stopped. "I don't know what came over me," she joked with a weak smile.

I smiled at Cere's comment. She placed a warm hand on the cool skin of my cheek and brought as closer, eyes locked. She thanked me for the flower and placed a hand in for it, her eyes not wavering from my own.

It was here as our faces remained close and nearing each other that I saw sparks in her eyes and felt a little surge of the dark energy that she dealt with. I watched as she dropped bot her her hands and her eyes, she apologized and stated that she didn't know what came over her, offering a weak smile, her eyes still down cast.

I sighed softly and looked down at the flower in my hand, "I do" I said in a soft, almost inaudible tone. I reached over and took Cere's chin lightly in my right hand, lifting it up so that I could see her face and sharp eyes again, I brought the lily up to her hair and put it back in its place in her hair. Once the action was done I put my hands in thier pockets and looked at Cere with a kind smile, "your demons?" I asked softly, I had read up on all the magic -at least a little- that was practiced in our clan and so I knew that those who worked with demons found themselves at odds with the creatures on the occasion.

So at the time of writing this I am on a field trip for art and will not be back until late Saturday. I'll try to post but I don't know.

Yule nodded to all Jakill said. She turned around, facing the camp, and saw Cere and Salastar. She raised an eyebrow slightly, watching as the two of them got close. Very close.

"Looks like we have some lovebirds," she muttered, turning back to Jakill. She sighed, running a hand through her hair. "I suppose we'll have to simply remove the coats on our horses and use them as makeshift pallets." She unlatched her horse's coat, her knees buckling for a moment from the weight of it. She quickly set it on the ground, before gathering up some sticks. She knelt beside her stick pile, and quickly stared a small fire. She shivered, lying down on her "bed" and sticking her hands out to the flame. Night always grew cold in this area and Yule had always been sensitive to it.

Her teeth chattered slightly, and she knew, that with the cold, the forest, and the witches, she'd not be getting much sleep.

Jakill He walked over and

Jakill

He walked over and took off his horses coat off of her back. He walked over to where Yule was setting a fire up. Jakill sat on the ground and flung the coat over his legs. It laid his feet towards the fire and layed down. Unlike Yule, he was going to hopefully get to bed. He put his arms behind his head to act as a pillow. He knew that tomorrow was going ro be a big day. But he couldn't help to think that they were out in the middle of an unfamiliar forest. And that he knew less than nothing about these witches. Jakill made sure that his bow was right next to him before he headed off to bed. "Goodnight Yule," he said. Before he turned over and fell asleep.

She opened her mouth to answer, but one of the Shadows came up behind her.

"Moon wants you back at camp to read. Don't worry, we'll keep an eye on them." And with that, the witch disappeared.

Turning back to Salastar, she shrugged. "I guess Moon doesn't want us to freeze out here, I'll see you and the knights tomorrow morning. Goodnight Salastar," Cere humorously joked, knowing full well that she wouldn't sleep at all tonight. Not with her job.

Cere seemed close to answering but one of the shadows appeared telling us that Moon wanted us back at camp and as fast as she had come she vanished. I listened to Cere's comment and chuckled lightly "I don't feel the bite of the cold, a benefit of being a creature of water I guess" I said, "goodnight Cere, do try to get some sleep" I said, hinting that I knew she was going to have a mostly sleepless night and with one last kind smile I left, not wanting to anger the creatures that she worked with and cause her more trouble.

I returned to my little erosion created hole that I called my home that lay just under a large fir tree. I closed the oddly shaped door and and hung my coat on the peg in the wall. I changed into some more comefortable clothing and climbed into my bed that lay in one part of the hollow and listened to the sound of the underground stream that I had unearthed.

~Time Skip~

I woke the next morning, early as usual and dressed in my usual garb. I left my little hovel and was about to go find the knights and Cere but I felt a little dry so I instead took a little detour to the river that was closer than the lake and fed into the large body of water and took a bit of a swim, going up stream so that when I left the river I would be closer to the knights.

I exited the water, its cold drops falling from my cloths and hair but I did not feel the icy bite that each drop held. I began to walk around, looking for both the knights and Cere. I came across the knights first of whom were still sleeping so I leaned against a tree and watched them silently, listening to the sounds of the forest.

When the red haired witched reached her hut, a little cave near Moon's, Malphas came to greet her.

"What do you want now, silly bird?" Cere asked, stepping around him even though she could just phase through him. Malphas, of course, couldn't speak, and instead sent very angry brain waves to her head. Cere sucked in a gasp and rubbed her temples, shooting some vulgar gesture at the demon. When the pain stopped, Cere sat down next to the bird, staring at the portal the demon left in its wake. "You do know I have to spend the entire night closing this, do you?" The bird said nothing, like always. Letting out an exhausted sigh, Cere went to work, casting her magic down into the portal while it slowly drained her of her strength. Day wouldn't come fast enough for her.

~Le Time Skip to morning~

Cere did not know she had dozed off till Malphas screeched in her ear.

"Ah! You stupid bird! Get out!" She snarled at the demon, and he quickly dispersed into smoke before she had anything else to say. Waving away the smoke, Cere rubbed her tired eyes and padded over to the mirror she stored in the corner of her cave. Peering into it, she noticed her eyes looked more...less beautiful than normal. Cere did not like that. With a swish of her hand, her face returned to its normal mask of a graceful siren, perfect eyes and all. The witch figured Salastar and the knights would be awake and ready to go, at a much faster rate than she, and so, Cere stood up and teleported to the location of the knights. She wasn't surprised when she saw Salastar was there. However, she noticed the wet shine his hair gave off, giving her the impression he had used his magic to wash himself.

"You can't just take a bath like a normal person? Though I suppose, we aren't normal," she asked, trying to start up a conversation, because she needed someone to talk to. Cere got chatty in the morning, and why not chat with the elusive Water Warlock before the Knights woke up. It isn't like she had anything planned. Nope, just a casual chat between friends.

Yule'S eyes slowly blinked open in the early morning light. The first thing she saw was Jakill, still asleep. She had' two realized she had fallen asleep facing him. Her eyes drifted to the pile of sticks that had been their fire, now reduced to a few dying embers. She then felt a presence over her. She slowly turned her head, and jolted upwards when she saw Salastar, the warlock.

"G-good morning." She stammered, quickly stumbling to her feet. She was many things, but a morning person was not one of them. She quickly brushed some dirt off of her clothing and combed her fingers through her hair in an attempt to tame it.

She clasped her hands behind her back, giving Salastar a uniformically poised expression. "Good morning." She tried again. "Once my companion here wakes up," she said, nudging the sleeping Jakill with her foot, hoping he'd take the hint even in his sleep, "we will be happy to hear your plans for us today."

"I'm up!" Jakill yelled as he launched himself forwards at the motion of someone nudging him. Jakill ran his hair trough his fingers quickly and relised that the two witches were there. Jakill quickly stood up by Yule as he relised that he just yelled through the forest looking like an complete idiot. He looked down at the ground, trying to avoid eye contract. "What's the plan?" He asked shyly.

I looked over my shoulder when I heard Cere comment about bathing like a normal person, I chuckled at the second half of the comment, "no, I just went for a swim in the river, though I guess that is just as bad for I have been told it is very cold" I replied. I noticed something about Cere's face, a falseness, I knew then that she had not slept well if she was using a spell to hide what her face actually looked like.

I heard the waking of a knight, the female Yule, who turned her head to me and shot upright, stammering a good morning. She stood quickly and tried to compose herself, saying good moring once more and continued to try to rose her fellow knight, the male Jakill.

I pulled the water from my hair and held it in a orb in my hand, chilling it and was about to flick it at Jakill when he jerked awake with a loud "I'm up". He to stood promptly looking at the ground and also asking me for the plans of the day, "first off, drop the formality, there is no need for it" I stated, thinking, "if you are to gain our trust us you must first learn to trust us which starts with you two leaving all of weapons and armor where you slept" I said, waiting to see how they reacted to losing everything they had as an advantage. I remianed in my open posture that showed no sign of hostility.

While Salastar had opted for a more..non threatening pose, Cere picked a loose pose with one hip jutting out and a hand on said hip. She had a flirty look in her eyes that suggested something more. Smiling she placed a hand on her fellow magic user, leaving one still on her hip. "We have plans to..see if your worth something to us. We rely on loyalty and dedication, and we can leave you faster than you leave us." The red head added a wink in the direction of the male knight, who had just woken up. The female one intrigued her, more than she liked to admit. A spike of jelousy creeped up her spine as she noticed Salastar glanced in the direction of the female knight, whom she'd have to start called Yule. Pushing it to the back of her mind, Cere held the smiling mask she had on, keeping on point with the person she wanted the Knights to see.

Jakill

He nodded at the male knight raised his ad to look at the two witches. This was the first time he really ever looked at them. The female one had a mischievous look in her eyes while the male had a softer look. The male's eyes were different colors, one being green and the other blue. The female's were dark.

Then the warlock spoke of how they should leave there weapons and armor behind. Jakill's  eyes flashed down at his bow. He knew he would be fine without it, but, this was new territory. He didn't know what to expect. But Jakill could see how the armor could look threatening.

He looked over at Yule to see what she thought. But then Jakill relised, he didn't know their names. He had just been calling them witches. He bet if he knew their names, that he would feel more comfortable around them.

"What are your names?" He asked.

Yule *Knight*

Yule tensed as Salastar commented on her formality. Drop it?  she thought. How on earth am I supposed to do that? Formality is my new persona, I cannot even remember how I acted before adapting the poise and uniforms of a royal knight. "My 'formality' isn't something that can be dropped and picked up at will, good sir." Yule said. "It is who I am, now." As they introduced themselves, Cere and Salastar, Yule bowed quickly. "Yule Anathema."

Her eyes widened as they were instructed to leave their weapons. Yule's hand instinctively hovered over the hilt of her sheathed blade. How was she supposed to leave behind her security? Aside from her combat, she had a limited amount of survival skills. But, this was a mission for trust. How difficult it already was.

Yule slowly unsheathed her sword, setting it down on her pallet. "Alright. But how are we supposed to trust that you aren't going to use your powers against us?" She asked. "Logically, telling us to abandon our weapons while you still have your magic leads one to believe this could be a set up. I am willing to follow through on your request regardless. But if worst comes to pass, Jakill and I have also been well trained in hand to hand combat and can easily defend ourselves with or without weaponry."

I shrugged at Yule's statement about not being able to not be formal, "then formally call me Salastar" I said making something informal, formal.

I shook my head and became very blunt with Yule after her statement about Cere and I possibly setting up them up, "if we wanted you two dead you would already be so" I stated "you were sent here to earn our trust and we are here to give you a chance to do so, kil, ling you serves no purpose" I waved the rest of her sentence away, "no hostility is needed to be shown, nor are any if and but situations. No harm will come upon you two unless you do harm to anything" I stated.

"Now are you two ready to trust us?" I asked the two knights, holding my hand out to shake their hands, I knew it was a human thing so I hoped it would help easy their tensions.

While Salastar put his hand forward to shake, Cere held back, eyeing the sword the girl, Yule, dropped to the ground. It was fascinating they were so willing to trust them, and while the girl wasn't fully convinced, she once again wondered if they knew witches and warlocks were weak to steel. "Once you all get acquainted, we're going on a hunting trip. The Clan needs to eat." Though, Cere felt a lot safer knowing the Shadows were not that far behind.

Yule nodded tightly to Salastar's statements. They seemed fair enough, and he was right. They had had plenty of chances to off them in their sleep. Though making them sleep unsheltered in the wilderness wasn't exactly a sign of great hospitality.

Yule held out her hand and strongly shook Salastar's. "If you're willing to trust us, we are willing to do the same for you." She answered, dropping his hand. She then glanced at Cere, before somewhat hesitantly holding her hand out to the witch. "And for you as well." She said, with a faint smile.

She heard Cere's comment about a hunting trip, and her heart lifted. That was something she knew she could do. Perhaps she'd do okay after all.

Jakill

Jakill shook Salastar's hand after Yule and knodded at Cere, who didn't seem to be warming up to them very fast. Jakill looked down at his bow and knew it would be better if he left it.

Jakill looked over at his horse who was hoofing the ground. Most of the grass around her was eaten. Jakill quickly went over to her and untied her from the tree and moved her for then she had some fresh grass. After he tied her up, Jakill walked back over to the others.

"So what's first?" he asked

Yule nodded at my words and then firmly shook my hand, Jakil was next to do so and then I heard Cere say that we would be going hunted. I nodded in agreement, noticing that Jakill had gone to tend to his horse and that Yule had held her hand out to Cere, I hoped she would take in kindness.

"Think we should split up to cover more ground? Also you think two or three dear is a good number to hunt for?" I asked Cere.

I heard Jakill follow me and ask what we were going to hunt with, I pulled my left hand from my pocket and pointed my index finger towards the sky, a sharp ice crystal formed just above it which then morfed into a dagger, "what we have at our disposal" I said simply as I let the ice darrger float towards Jakill so that he had some means of hunting, "don't worry, it wont melt no let's pick up our feet and get moving, we've got a little ways to go to reach where were hunting, try to keep up" I told Jakill as I broke into a long strided run. I figured that since he was a knight he would have the speed and endurance that I had from all of his training.

Jakill

Salastar made an ice dagger form right out of thin air and it floated over to Jakill. Jakill grabbed it without a second thought, eager to look at it. But suddenly Salastar burst 8th into a sprint yelling, "Try to keep up!"

Jakill smiled and raced after him. He had to admit, Salastar was fast. But he had his knight training. He wasn't able to get to Salastar but he never went out of view. It was more like a chase. Jakill wondered where they were going, or how far away it was. And hopefully this wasn't a trick to kill them.

But Jakill took the best of it and set his mind to focus on the race.

Yule watched as Jakill and Salastar parted from them. She turned to Cere, doing her best attempt at a friendly look. Her expressions, she feared, always looked quite forced. I had to admit, Jakill could keep up a bit. It took about an half an hour of straight running to reach the part of the forest that we would be hunting in. I slowed down to a stop and waited for Jakill to catch up "ready to hunt I asked him when he caught up.

"Deer" I replied simply, looking around and finding a river. I walked over to the water's edge, crouched down and began looking for signs of dear. Unknown to me, what appeared to be a soaking wet bay foal stood shaking by the waters edge but in truth it was a diguised kelpie trying to lure in the knight.

Deer. Deer gives the Clan strengh to take on our enemies. We'll go deep into the forest, where I know most of them hide. I spend hours waiting for a herd to come by before springing on them. Come, we mustn't hurry," Cere said quickly, starting a slow pace so the knight could keep up with her. Suddenly remembering the girl had no weapons to hunt with, the witch waved her hand, and the smoke like magic filled the palm of her hand and started forming what looked like to be a hunting knife. "My skills in creation are not as good as Salastars, but this will hold on for awhile. Becareful, its a little warm." Cere tossed her the knife, still walking.

Deer, a simple enough answer. Yule, frankly, had been expecting some magical creature to be the main game in the witch clan. "Alright." She began a slow jog, keeping pace with Cere. She glanced at the witches hands as she began to form something with smoke like magic. She quickly caught the weapon, biting her tongue to keep back her yelp at the heat of the knife.

"Thank you." She said, tucking the knife into her sword's sheath on her belt. It was too large for the weapon, but would suffice.

"Do you know how to hunt?" Cere asked casually, crouching low to the dirt and looking for tracks. "All of us in the Clan pull our weight equally, some," she paused and smirked,"do it a bit better than others." Her nails extended and canines grew longer as Gommorah shared his powers with her. The scents that flew into her nose were exhilarating, and she picked up the smell of a herd of deer not to far. It was time to test the knight. "Come," she said. "It's time to hunt."

"Deer," Salastar said bluntly. Jakill try to pay attention, but a young bay foal was standing near the water. Jakill didn't know why, but this foal was putting off a vibe for Jakill to go knew it. Slowly he walked over to it.

I had just found the trace of a deer when I heard the sound of Jakill walking off. I glanced over my shoulder, thinking he had saw something, and saw the bay foal that he was walking towards, "Jakill! If you value your life you will stop where you are and back up quickly!" I commanded, to him he could only see a the foal because he was a human and that was exactly what the kelpie wanted, unsuspecting humans were its sustinence.

Yule tilted her head to the side. "I hunt on occasion with my father, when I get a rare day off duty. She replied to Cere's casual question. She stopped running as Cere crouched low, and watched with growing shock as her nails and teeth extended, giving her an almost wolfish nature.

Yule quickly pulled out the now mostly cooled knife, and held it much as she would her sword. "Take the lead, Cere. Seeing as you appear to be quite... advanced." She said, circling her arm to make her shoulder pop. "I'm ready when you are."

Jakill

He snapped out of it when Salastar yelled at him. He quickly pushed himself backwards. He ran back up besides Salastar. And he reached up and used a tree to support his breathing. "Thanks," he told Salastar. But being almost killed in the first few minutes of their journey was enough to hope that nothing had happened to Yule. And to be honest, he didn't know how much he trusted Cere.

I was glad that Jakill returned to me, he thanked me to. Once I knew Jakill was safe I yelled to the Kelpie, "now git Kylra (kil-ra), this human is not food" I said and the creature shifted from the cute foal to a large green scaly looking horse with sharp teeth sticking from its mouth and what looked like kelp replacing its mane and snarled at me before jumping into the water and dissapeared.

"Nasty creatures Kelpies are" I commented. I gestured to the deer tracks, "how well can you tack?" I asked him, testing him on what he knew

Cere felt the ground with her hand, and felt ingraves in the dirt. By the size and shape of the marking, she concluded it was a stag. "Stag, not far from here, come," she said, walking along the path quickly, so they didn't lose their prey. Soon enough, the stag appeared, its mighty antlers in view over the bushes she crouched behind.
"I led you on the path, now you take it down. I'll be here to help."

Yule crouched beside of Cere, peering at the stag over the bushes. She glanced at Cere as she instructed Yule to take the game down. Nodding, Yule gripped the knife tightly. She had really only done bow hunting, but in a couple of life threatening situations, had also killed animals with her sword. A knife couldn't be too different.

Taking quiet, measured breaths, she slowly made her way out from behind the bush. The stag, not taking notice of her. With another breath, she leapt up and swiftly launched herself at the stag. It's head turned just as her blade sunk into it's shoulder. It darted away, leaving a trail of blood, as Yule cursed herself. "I missed!" She lamented, quickly getting to her feet. The stag wasn't too far away, but ran quickly. She wiped some of its blood off of her cheek, and calculated the distance between them. It was starting to slow, and Yule knew her only other option.

Taking her best aim, she threw the knife with all the strength her arm could muster. It sailed through the air, and met its target, the blade sticking into the back of the stag's neck. It fell to the ground, and Yule quickly made her way to it. The stag was dying, and Yule took her knife out of its neck and then pierced its heart, putting the animal out of its misery as the life went out of it.

She cleaned the blade on the grass, examining the deer. Not her cleanest job, but at least it was dead.

"Yeah, just nasty," Jakill added to Salastar's comment. But then he asked how well Jakill could track.

"Well, I'm not horrible," he began. "I can usually tell which way the creature is moving. But I can't tell how long ago it was hear by smelling tracks, not that I believe that it's very accurate but. Why do you have any trail?"

I gestured again to the deer tracks, "well let's put your skill's to the test, lead on" I told him, waiting for him to get his bearings and start following the deer tracks.

Jakill

Salastar jestered to a trail of tracks and told Jakill to led on. Jakill walked towards the tracks and bent to examine them. Jakill knew how to track, but he didn't really like to and did it rarely. It was not because he was incapable, it was because he didn't like to kill, which was probably a bad spot to be in when you were a knight.

Jakill looked at the tracks. "The deer is currently  heading north. Judging by the spacing of the tracks walking, as if right now. The trails don't go into the ground that much so it's either a doe or a small stag." He said, standing up. Then he began following the tracks.

I watched as Jakill examined the tracks and missed to what he said and followed as he tracked the deer.

"Messy, but I like your handiwork. I'll let you keep that knife until the demons want it back." Cere motioned toward the fresh deer carcass and waved her hand. A portal formed under the deer, and in seconds the deer fell through the hole in the ground. "Don't worry, its being transferred to camp, where our Nature Witch, Willow if you want to know her name, will prepare it for lunch. Speaking of lunch, lets head back to your makeshift camp."

Jakill

He followed the tracks with Salastar behind him very carefully until he saw a doe nibbling on some grass beside a tree. Jakill bent down besides a bush for then the deer couldn't see him and motioned for Salastar to do the same. Jakill reached back for his bow and remembered that he didn't have it. Then he remembered the dagger that Salastar gave him. He reached down for it and the deer looked their way. Jakill froze until the deer looked back and continued eating. Jakill then finished grabbing the dagger.

Brought it up near his face for then he could aim. Jakill had it aimed at the deer's heart, where it would kill the deer the fastest. Jakill threw at the deer and it went into the deer's lungs. The deer fell over and laid on the ground until it stopped breathing. Jakill stood up and walked over to the deer. It was dead. Jakill pulled out the dagger and cleaned it with his shirt.

"Should we haul it back?" He asked Salastar.

((home sweet home, sorry the delay my friends))

I watched Jakill's kil,l nodding at how clean it was. I followed him out of our cover and over to the deer, "yep, but I can make our lives a lot easier" I said. I flicked my hand and the ice blad that Jakill had just cleaned, melted and fell to the ground where a sheet of ice almost instantly formed, the deer carcus was lifted slightly and was now cradled by a block of ice. Two icey sticks grew from the blockand I grabbed onto one of them.

"The ice will form as we go and dissapate the same, ready?" I asked.
