The Lazersight Vesperwing is a powerful dragon in the Mystery class. Resembling a hornet, this dragon is aggressive and usually attacks without a second thought. It is also very reckless, but it varies on the type of hornet or wasp it gained its stats from. Each Vesperwing will take after the hornet or wasp diet of its mother. If it's mother eats a lot of Asian giant hornets, for example, her eggs with have the color scheme of the Asian giant hornet and will be aggressive, social, and very deadly, which are traits of the bug. The mother will only eat the insects when they are pregnant. There can be mixes, like if it eats half Asian giant hornets and let's say, the jewel wasp, the traits will be mixed together, resulting in a pretty, creative, aggressive and social Vesperwing. Their stats will change as well, but if the mother doesn't eat any wasps, her offspring will be completely white, and won't really be as strong as other Vesperwings.
The main thing these dragons are known for is killing fireworm queens, stinghive alphas, and night terror alphas. They will raid the dragons’ nests, and will attempt to kill the leader. If they succeed, the pack of dragons will follow their new leader. They also will fight each other to get the dragons of the other Vesperwing. The largest pack found consisted of 2 stinghive colonies, 4 night terror packs, and 7 fireworm hives, leaded by a European hornet based Vesperwing. Vesperwings shoot sticky goop from their mouths, which don't really do much except stick, but their eyes can shoot beams of burning light, like lasers, which can cut through most objects.
These dragons can be found in most regions where their wasp types can be found. It depends on the type of wasp that they are based off of. Vesperwings eat fish, livestock, dragons up to the size of Nadders, baby Vesperwings, and if no food are around, their own colony. In the breeding season, these dragons are more aggressive, and will be seen fighting other dragons often. After breeding, the female will then attempt to kill the male, usually because they are afraid of the male eating the children when they hatch. Baby Vesperwings also might fight each other at birth, and sometimes the first-born will crack the eggs of its siblings.
1. Don't reply to the DO NOT REPLY POST
2. You need to have a name, personality, gender, and backstory in order to adopt. The difficulty and length will depend on the rarity.
3. Don't steal my art, and credit me and NightmareRebuff's name.
4. Put the dragon in your sig.
5. You may adopt as many Vesperwings as you want, but the difficulty will increase by the amount of Vesperwings you have.
6. If you want to request a wasp/hornet as a concept, pm me, and I might consider it.
7. You can also request a custom Vesperwing, but you just have to put the name of the wasp and A RARE CLASS BACKSTORY.
...and I think we're done here. XD
I like violent dragons.
I like violent dragons too much.
Name: Verd'n Tradkei
Personality: A solitary, untrusting dragon who doesn't believe in friendship, only strategic alliances. He can't stand clingy people and holds a grudge untill he sees it through- usually with bloody outcomes. Not much can be read through his body language or facial expression, although he is known to tap the ground when feeling kindly, friendly or tolerable. He admires confidence though, and it is one of few thing that he gets.
From birth Verd'n was a deadly foe, without mercy and seemed to gain a certain degree of thrill from killing. His mother didn't need to protect him and his father(who smartly left the moment the mother laid the eggs) avoided him at all costs. As a child, Verd'n spent his days brawling, expanding his hive and killing as he willed. It wasn't long before he and his colony outmatched any other Vesperwing of his age. He ran rampant through his territory which he constantly expanded, until finally, for some reason, he was satisfied with 3 large islands, almost 50 islets and nearly 45 square kilometres of ocean.
On the month before his 30th birthday, something happened and Verd'n became aggresive and greedy again. He spread his territory to another 4 large islands, and expanded his colany by the thousands of whatever he could obtain. Strangely, he ignored the sea and released half of his fishing grounds, making his way to where dragons were plentiful- Berk.
Hundreds fell. Many more followed him. Few managed to flee to warn others. This is where the viking known as Queen Spinny Chairs(real name Ebony) comes in. She is reckless and easily distracted, a little shy but determined to be remembered. When she heard about the terror in the east, her first thought was 'This thing is awesome. I want to know it, if this kills me or not' and went out to find it.
With her quick and unpredictable mind, she pre-named him Tradkei even though she'd never seen it. Others said he was a mighty black insect of raw power and leadership. Some described him as a fire-winged hornet which would kill on sight. This dragon was right up her alley.
He wasn't hard to find. A great swarm of assorted pack and hive dragons all clustered behind him, creating an unbelievable noise and smell.
Ebony approached, unafraid, if a bit giddy. Verd'n was more than she expected. He was like a lion with a beetles furiousity, and possesed a royal aura about him. Glittering blood-red wings stood out from his body, facing her in a defensive stance but curiousity had the better of him. She took a moment, staring, awe-struck. Ebony recognized his social position and intelligence, so she bowed.
Now, Verd'n was very intrueged. The swarm behind him grew agitated, yearning to tear apart this useless newcomer. He held them back, and approachaed Ebony by his lonesome.
She was shaking, barely holding in her glee. Verd'n assessed her, and she bowed to him once more. Verd'n didn't smell any fear in this small creature, and impressed, he circled her once. He came back in front of her, sniffing once more. There was fear, but not -I'm-going-to- hidefear. More like... admiration. Intimidaiton.
Respect. He suddenly liked the girl, and returned a bow. Ebony knew he had accepted her, but she needed the proof. She held her hand out, and looked away as always. Verd'n did not touch his nose, but instead brushed the spines on his neck along her arm. She felt the familiar tingle of a bond, and stroked the dragons head. "May I name you, sir?" she asked.
He clapped his wings together once, as if to say, 'Depends'
Ebony did a little jump, then said "Tradkei. And if you have one, your given name before it"
Verd'n concidered it, then nodded. He wrote on the ground before her his name and took off, releasing any dragons of Berks out of mutual respect and ordering his swarm to never attack the dragons of Berk. He released Berk from his hunting grounds, left the area but visits regularly for practice in defence Viking strategies and to learn of trappers, plus a 'donation' of food for his swarm.
Thankyou for the dragon, I should have it in my signature when I get home. Although, I think your defenition of magical taming is different to mine...
These look cool!
Pls reserve number 2
Green Cuckoo wasp, you shall be mine!!
Trying for #2, the common Bald-Faced Hornet.
Harnea is the type of dragon that makes her prescence known; either through violence or being horribly loud. She's aggresive, usually hissing and growling at others, often starting fights when she's in a particularly bad mood. She's dependant on her colony, though she can get things done herself.
((It's in Harnea's P.O.V.))
Being the ever mature dragon I was, I thought it'd be a wonderous idea to take on a hive of FireWorms and their FireWorm Queen the moment I heard about it.
It was easy to fly to the large island that housed the FireWorms. Huge, with several trees scattered along the edges, a giant mountain located in the very center. It was a dormant volcano though, I knew that, and not an actual mountain. I landed slightly on one of the ledges of the volcano, twitching my wings slightly at the heat that seemed to radiate off the volcano. I easily found an opening, slipping into it and staring around with narrowed eyes. My colony followed behind me, waiting for me to take action before moving themselves.
Alternating between walking and flying through the large cave, an entrance much bigger than the one I'd come through opened up gradually along the cave walls. I peered through the entrance, darting into the air when I saw the many FireWorms scattered about. There had to be at least three thousand of them, but considering their size, getting past them and to their queen would be a breeze. Directing my colony to distract the FireWorms, who all skittered around furiously, I flew off along the cave walls, searching for their queen.
I found their queen in good time, almost backing away when I saw their queen. Definitely larger than a normal FireWorm Queen- or the ones I'd seen, anyways- with bright red and orange scales stood these FireWorm's queen. I didn't actually care about this dragon's appearance, no, but the little creature standing next to the queen. I guessed it was a human; I'd heard of them, but never had seen them. I hadn't realized they looked so weak, tiny and path.etic.
I roared sharply, lunging towards the human instead of the queen. The queen could wait; I knew what FireWorm Queens were capable of, but not humans. The queen hissed, intercepting easily, and knocking me backwards with a furious growl. I growled back, irritated- was this human friends with that queen? That was unheard of; most humans I'd heard about ki.lled dragons, they weren't defended by them!
The human pushed at the queen's shoulder, saying something that I could hear. The queen hissed at the human, before turning and blasting fire directly at me. I roared again, darting into the air to avoid the blast. The human yelled out for the FireWorm Queen to stop; I assumed that's what the human had said to her before as well.
The FireWorm Queen turned sharply, confused, while I stared warily at the human, equally confused. I could make out a few words, "Stop...no reason...attack again...won't come back." The rest was too quiet for me to hear, but all I could guess was that the human didn't want that queen attacking me. I slowly landed, trying to make as least movement as I could; the queen would probably try to ki.ll me again if I moved and she noticed. The FireWorm Queen hissed furiously at the human, reluctantly backing away.
I tilted my head, even more confused. I jerked backwards though, snarling threateningly when the human approached me. The human laughed. The human laughed at me. Humans were not supposed to laugh at me or any one of my species- humans were supposed to fear my species, weren't they? I hissed angrily, waving my tail in annoyance. The human held up one hand; I considered biting off its arm, but then the FireWorm Queen would start attacking me again. Deciding against that, I instead frowned at the human.
I re-opened my wings, whipping around and flying away from the human and FireWorm Queen, my colony following me as they saw me.
I'd just go back and ki.ll the FireWorm Queen when that human left.
Originally, I was going to make the human hideand then Harnea. Because aggresive ki.lling and revenge ki.lling.
Going in for Batch 2, number 2... My favorite color is blue... The story will be in the next post.
I usually don't adopt stuff but I'm actually considering it here because I really like bugs. Also, my viking Hypergoof would have a halaryis reaction to those things. She loves bugs but there is one type of bug that can make her flip out by getting too close to her and that is wasps/bees. These would probably freak her out since not only do they look like wasps/bees but they act like them too. Hypergoof knows how to deal with dragons not dragon/wasp hybrids. She would not know how to act in order to avoid angering one nor would she know how to calm a mad one down.
It would give Hypergoof a challenge and challenges make for good storys. Besides. Freak outs are funny. A lot of comedy comes out of discomfort.
Personality: This dragon is very hyper and his paralyzing sting will paralyze any dragon he touches. He is unique with his colors of blue, green and red and he is very hyper when he gets agitated or disturbed by something. He is loyal to protecting a hive and he is always up for a chalenge. He is agressive durring battle and he will do anything to protect his territory.
Backstory: Morning had arrived in the quiet part of the wilderness, where a lonely tree was in the middle of the clearing and there was a nest hanging from it. Vesperwing dragons had buit the nest there and protected it for a long time from fireworms and any other curious dragon.
Syther, a male Vesper with blue wings and blue and green stripped body, flew out and arround the nest, looking for any danger that would damage or destroy his home, seen a pack of fireworms headded straight for the hive. He clicked his antenai together and buzzed to call the others out of the hive to help fend off these fireworms.
The Vesperwing's gathered together outside the hive and waited for the attack, as the fireworms came closer, the Vesper's got aggitated and wanted to kill them all with there deadly sting. The fireworms blasted at the hive and the vesper's then got agressive and went after them, stinging what they could of the fireworms and they dropped to the ground, paralyzed. The remaining fireworms fled the nest area as they didnt wanna get stung and Syther was willing to follow them back to their hive to take it over and destroy the fireworm queen.
Back at the fireworm queen's hive, the rest of the remaining fireworm's came back and the queen was wondering where the other ones were so she got mad and lit up her body with glow and roared and Syther wasn't far behind the fireworms and he landed on a branch outside the fireworm's hive, waiting for the right time to attack her.
The fireworm queen roared again and flew out the nest and the others followed her, unseen by the fireworm queen, Syther flew under the queen and stung her in the chest as she was flying, she lost control and fell to the ground, one wing was paralyzed but she could still move arround the ground. The other fireworms got mad at what Syther did and they all went after him, trying to blast him with fire. Syther quickly flew back to his nest to gather back up to defeat this fireworm pack and they headed back to where the fireworm queen had fallen.
Both the fireworm pack and the Vesperwing pack were staring at eachother, hovering over the fireworm queen on the ground, at the clearing, waiting to see who would attack first, the fireworm's and Vesper's waited, hovering and staring for a good twenty minutes or so until one fireworm lunged at the direction of the vesper's nest. It then was chaos, as fireworms were dropping from being stung and Vesper's were dropping from being burned. In the end only a few Vespers made it and the leader of the vesper's had also perrished. The remaining Vesper's all stared down at the fireworm queen who was still on the ground. Syther lunged first and the other vespers lunged at her, as well, knowing she couldnt fly, stinging her all over her body, paralyzing her and she roared and she became paralyzed. The vesper's shot the sticky goo on her so she wouldn't get away when the paralysis wore off. They also shot a beam of powerful light from there eyes to blast through trees and trap the queen in a wall so she couldn't escape.
The amount of stings she got had eventually killed her and the Vespers knew they won so they took over the fireworm hive and victory was there's.
They knew the battle was over and there new leader was Syther, they followed him to go find food and they all spent there days in there new hive.
Never underestemate the power of The Lazersight Vesperwing...
Please don't give batch 2 number 2 away.. I'm still working on the back story. About to begin my 2nd paragraph.
Just got out of my morning class. Thank God I have no more classes today-ttebayo. I know you don't reserve, but I promise you, I am working on the story on my comp. Right now I only have my phone on me.... This morning has been crazy.. I've been working on the story and running around my apartment like a mad woman.... *crosses fingers and hopes you won't give my Matatabi (Batch 2, #2 away to someone else)..
Batch 2: Number 2:
Dragon Species: Lasersight Vesperwing
Name: Matatabi (Originally from Naruto; thought it fit perfectly)
Gender: Female (I DESPISE pink.... *gags*)
Personality: She is generally mild, although known to show no mercy when provoked.
[[(Note: Reaper, my Thyladrakken---Thanks again, Nightmare!!! x3---is featured in this story...he can be found in my sig. Hope you enjoy! Oh yeah... I know this doesn't require great grammar and spelling, but I just want to apologize beforehand, if I DO actually happen to mess up in that area, as I am a HUGE grammar freak....I just happened to wake up, see this, and immediately start typing before someone decided to take (hopefully mine) Matatabi away from me.) Also, before you ask, I don't mention the dragon species' name in here. I think upon reading it, you will understand why.]]
An unusual spine-chilling breeze whistled through the night as Reaper and I continued our search for yet another Fireworm Queen nest destruction. Neither of us knew why these said events - destructions of said dragons nests - kept occurring. However, this did not stop us from searching for the main cause(s) of these effects. Each event had led us to new clues: clear and very fragile, thin pieces of what looked like insect-like dragon wings, large insect-like feelers, and now, upon finally arriving at the location of the most recent destruction, torn pieces of what looked like striped flesh. As I bent down to observe the flesh at a closer viewpoint, a low rumble I was much too familiar with, was heard, deep within Reaper's throat. My attention had immediately switched from the flesh clues to what Reaper had supposedly found based on his eyes not moving the slightest bit away from where they had lain. As I walked toward Reaper, still in the nest's destruction site, I paid close attention to where his gaze was fixated on.
What my eyes were witnessing could not easily be forgotten. Two large, four-winged beasts whose body shapes and features, and skin patterns resembled that of a wasp, were fighting, or so it seemed that way. I couldn't care less why they were fighting. Even if it was perfectly clear that these were the beasts who destroyed the dragons' nests, all I was interested in now was knowing what these creatures were. Reaper's low rumbling growls of anger seemed to turn into low rumbling growls of worry. As I began to notice this change, a loud, agonizing, and painful shriek rang through the skies above. My head turned back to see the two beasts again, only to find one was standing this time. Judging by the more vibrant colors this one had than the other, this beast was a male, whereas.... As soon as I let my mind wonder if the other beast was male or female, a low rustling sound was heard nearby where the other beast had fallen. I turned my head in the direction of this noise to see exactly what made it... Much to my surprise, it WAS the other beast...She was definitely female judging by her only two colors, where the male had more than five altogether. She was badly wounded, which caused her to move slow and wince in pain, but it did not stop her from stealthily creeping back towards the male. 'Why is she doing this? There must be a reason,' I thought, as I quietly crept closer to the male as well, to see exactly what he was doing. I could almost not believe my eyes, it was so unforgivable. The male was eating what looked like newly laid eggs. 'This is why,' I thought as I stopped in my tracks to glance over at the female who was trying her hardest to stay alive in order to make it back to the male on time. I then decided that she was not going to do this alone. I quietly whispered for Reaper to come to me, who had immedietaly obeyed and grumbled in agreement once I had told him my plan. The female still had quite a long way to go with the way she was getting herself to her destination. Since this was unfortunately so, Reaper and I went ahead with our plan of action.
Not a moment sooner did we arrive on the scene just in time. Our ambush plan seemed to have shaken up the male beast quite a bit as he jumped back about 500 ft. as a reaction to our earth-rattling entrance. Looking around for hope, we had found one last egg. In one swift motion, I ordered Reaper to stride forward, leaned far off to the side near the ground, swept it up in my arms, and nudged his side with my heel to make a sharp turn-around. Realizing what we had done, a furious roar came from where we rode off from. As my head turned back to see if he was following us, Reaper's hind leg had been tripped by the source of the noise, causing me to be thrown off, and Reaper to tumble, crash into a wall, and black out in some are nearby... "REAPER!!!!" I cried out. I then looked back towards where Reaper was tripped. 'No way... That was---' My thoughts were cutoff when the male we thought we had left far behind, was suddenly in the air right above us, bearing his---what looked like---poisonous tail, about to strike. I closed my eyes and turned so that the front of my body as well as the egg I was firmly holding onto, were facing the ground so that not harm could come to this egg; I was bracing myself for what would be my death. 'At least the egg will be safe,' I thought to myself, waiting for his tail to pierce my heart. However, my waiting ceased when suddenly two gruesome and bloody slashing sounds of tails to hearts, followed by two horrid shrills were heard. My eyes shot open at the sound, and what I saw I could almost not believe. The female had gotten in my way and took the hit, as well as she planting her last hit into her mate as well, as a show of revenge for eating the future of their species. Before slipping away and passing on into the next life, the female looked at me, and I saw, what I thought was a slight, weak, dying smile. "You managed to put your life on the line for the future of my species... Thank you... For that, I owe you my life." With that, she and her mate both fell over to their eternal slumber. 'Did she just---no... dragons aren't telepathic...there's no way,' I thought, as I took one last glance at the female beast that had saved my life, before running towards where Reaper had blacked out. He was already back on his feet, which made me happy to see. Reaper seemed neutral about the egg, whereas I was excited and interested to see what the baby would look like. Now, all there was to do, was ride back home, and wait for the egg to hatch... 'Was she really telepathic?..... No... I was just imagining things...' Or was I?
[(I hope you enjoyed it). *Reaches out and waits for my dear Matatabi* x3...FINALLY DONE!!! xD]
I might adopt....
when my blog has stopped acting up!
Tracking, I'm too busy to write this week but that's okay. I'm waiting for a certain color :3
I know, since I don't have time to write though I'm going to wait until I finish a story to do that.
Ok here we go. I'm going for batch one number one. The European Hornet one.
Personality; Is really calm for a Lazersight Vesperwing. And I just mean for a Lazersight Vesperwing because he can get really nasty if you upset him. It's just that as long as you don't upset him he is really chill and upsetting him although easy to do for the average dragon is a lot h.arder to do than the average for his speacys. He seems to be a bit of a weirdo since he comes from a breed of Vesperwings that are suppose to be social but he himself has never been seen with others. Perhaps something bad happened to his swarm and now he is lonely and searches for somewhere else to call home. He is unknown to speak. Has a strange attraction to candy and other really sweet things. He also likes meat but that isn't really noteworthy as most of his kind do.
Some time ago I met a dragon that actually freaked me out. Fittingly enough I met him some time after harvest haunt. Well, I guess it would be more fitting during harvest haunt but now I’m just getting distracted. Like when I saw that stinkbug yesterday. It was green and- sorry! Sorry! I’m doing it again! I’m just going to start the story before anything else can catch my attention. So anyway it was some time after harvest haunt. Cuteseepie and I were on the job searching for injured dragons (or dragons that otherwise needed help) for we work at a dragon rehabilitation center or the DRC for short. There are lots of jobs available at the DRC. Doctors, janitors for inside the building itself, people who’s job it is to hold a dragon down while the doctor looks at something or gives them medicine if it absolutely must be done or the dragon would hidewithout it or something, there is also that person who runs the front desk and handles people coming in to report stuff and many other jobs. My job, and the most fun job in my opinion, is to scout around with Cuteseepie and do field work. We field workers are the ones who must make first contact with any dragon in distress that we or someone else at the DRC finds. As I have already said it is a fun job because we get to meet all sorts of new dragons. It is also a dangerous or just scary job for that very same reason. So during a routine patrol we stopped to have dinner before going home. Normally we would have gone home early enough to have dinner when we got home instead of before but we had got tied up with a rescue mission regarding a snapptrapper and a net trap from someone who had obviously put it there illegally. Let me just tell you right now that THAT was not a fun mission. That many heads and a net do not mix my friend. Anyway Cuteseepie was somewhere collecting wood for a fire and I was catching us some fish. Yes yes I know. It seems like that really should be reversed since dragons are great fishers and I was the one with hands. It was autumn though and in the evening which meant that the weather was a bit chilly. Cuteseepie hates the cold, even something as small as an autumn breeze. I wasn’t about to make him get wet and get colder. As I was standing there with my fishing rod I heard a noise that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. It sounded like a very loud buzz. Now before you judge me in any way I am not afraid of bugs. Nor am I afraid of dragons. I mean, I CUDDLE with a whispering death on a regular bases. I am however afraid of bees and (even worse) wasps. When I heard that buzz the first thing that came to mind was that there was a bee or wasp right near my ear and I flipped out! I didn’t scream. I don’t really do that. I did however make a noise. I’m not exactly sure what kind of noise it was but it was a noise. The closest thing I can compare it too in order to tell you what noise I made is a goose honk. Along with the...er….honk I flailed my arms around, spun around, lost my balance and….didn’t fall IN the lake but I did fall in some pretty gross mud that made up it’s bank. That’s when I saw IT. The thing that made the buzz. It was no bee. It was no wasp. It was far FAR worse than that. It was a Lazersight Vesperwing. Now the Lazersight Vesperwing is a creature that I SHOULD like. It is both a bug and a dragon at the same time and I like both bugs and dragons. The only problem was that the bug side of this dragon was part of non other than the wasp family of bugs. You know, that one family of bugs that I don’t want near me EVER. Now here I was staring right into the eyes of what was essentially a half dragon super wasp bigger than me. That is, until I remembered that there are some dragons who don’t like direct eye contact so I looked at it a bit indirectly instead......just in case. Then a big problem hit me. How do I act around such a creature to keep it from stinging me or burning my face off with it’s laser eyes. Oh ya, I forgot to mention, they can shoot freaking lasers! Just another thing to be scared of with this dragon. The dragon fluttered its gossamer wings and started approaching. I was quite mystified with the way its six legs moved until I realized it was focused on me and was getting closer. What should I do? Should I treat it as a wasp or should I just treat it as any other dragon? Was its approach a sign of aggression or friendship? At the pase it had set it didn’t seem so aggressive but how could I know? Did that wing flutter mean anything? Would the eel trick work on this thing or would that just make it angry? In the end I was so confused on what I should do that I chose to just hold still and hope that it was just checking out something in its territory and would leave me alone when it found I wasn’t a threat. The Vesperwing got closer and closer until it was pretty much standing on top of me. It then proceed to start feeling and (because I know a lot about bugs I knew it must be doing this too) smelling me. It seemed very interested in my cloths and was probing them the most. I decided to try some conversation. My throat was closed up from fear so tight that my speech was barely more than a squeak but I managed a quiet and shaky. “H-Hello. I-I’m Hypergoof. What’s your name?” The vesperwing seemed to snap to attention at the sound and stared me down. Just like everything else about this dragon I wasn’t sure what that look meant. Was it curiosity? Annoyance? It was h.ard to tell. The dragon didn’t answer my question. Instead it gently ran its antenna over my face in what I hoped was a greeting then returned its attention to my cloths. Why was it so interested in my cloths? Why was it this close to me in the first place? I didn’t like my space being invaded this way and tried to crawl away. Hoping that if I moved slowly enough the Vesperwing wouldn’t notice. It did. I wasn’t even able to roll halfway into a crawling position before the dragon buzzed, growled and raised its tail at me. That tail raise was a threat. At least I could understand that. I quickly stopped my attempt to get away and went back to staying as still as possible. The dragon glared at me, antennae twitching in annoyance. Then, when it was sure I was behaving, it started probing my clothes again. I sighed, hopeing it wasn’t some weird thing like Wiggles’ and hugging where I could be stuck here under this wasp dragon all day. I had to admit. Even though I was scared there was a sort of beauty about the creature. I stared at its partly transparent wings taking in the way the sunlight split as it went through them. In some places it made little blotches of color like a rainbow had shattered into multicolored glitter and was then recycled by the gods to decorate this creature’s wings. I knew that according to the book of dragons there were much more extravagant variations of Lazersight Vesperwings but this one right there was the one I was looking at so it was this one’s particular beauty that I noticed. As I examined my captor a thought came into my head. Where was this dragon’s swarm? Some Lazersight Vesperwings were solitary and some were social. This much I knew. The one standing over me was European Hornet based and the European Hornet is a social insect so therefor this dragon should also be sociol. But I had not seen any other Lazersight Vesperwings and Cuteseepie would have told me if he had smelled them because he knows I like to know about that kind of stuff so where were they? Had they left this one behind for some reason? Had he gotten lost? Was he just a scout and not in any trouble at all? At this point my thoughts were interrupted by the vesperwing’s pawing at my side. Then it hit me. The vesperwing wanted something that was in my pockets. Slowly I reached in to feel for what was in there. The vesperwing raised its tail slightly but lowered it again when it realized I wasn’t trying to escape. I pulled out a large amount of candy from harvest haunt. I must have forgotten about it. The vesperwing stared at the sweets and started to drool as it looked at me in a “Well? Can I have it?” sort of way. I started to unwrap the paper from the candy for…..him? I think it was a him. But he snatched the whole pile from my hands instead causing me to make another surprise goose noise. Or…..actually that one was more like a puppy yip but whatever. I quickly looked at my hands and breathed a sigh of relief when I saw that all of my fingers were still there. When the vesperwing had swallowed all that it had in it’s mouth he licked his lips, probed me with his antenna for any more then, finding nothing, he just walked away without so much as a thank you. “Well that was rude.” I mumbled but I was careful to say it in Norse instead of dragoneese so he wouldn’t hear me. I was very glad to not be within striking range of his stinger any more and I didn't want to put myself in that position again if I didn't have to. When Cuteseepie returned I told him about what happened and he agreed that it was very rude. In all honesty that dragon scared me and I really hoped I would never see him again. I did see him again though. Several times in fact. If I am carrying food when I am patrolling with Cuteseepie there is a chance that he will show up and take it from me. On rare occasions he will just show up even when I don’t have anything and follow me for a while. It’s a little creepy. I never see him with others of his kind even though I should. He never talks so I don’t know his name. I call him Bumbles even though he is not a bumblebee because the bumblebee is the least scary type of critter in the bees and wasps family. I did it in the hopes that a cute name would make me less freaked out by him but so far that hasn’t worked. I’m not as scared as I was the first time I saw him but he still makes me shiver a bit when he's near. It’s not like I don’t try to be friendly with him either. I tried to pet him a few times and he will not allow it. I do wish he would stop stalking me or at the very least try to tell me WHY he is stalking me but that doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen so I will continue to try to understand him as best I can. Maybe eventually I won’t be scared of him anymore and we can be friends but until that day I’ll be looking over my shoulder a lot when in the wilderness.
((If there are any spelling mistakes left that is what the spell check and my rereading through has missed and I'm sorry about it))
Have you ever held a whole lot of flowers when there were bees around and had one chase you cause it wanted the flowers? I have and I bet it would be like that.....only much worse. He would probably chase the tricker treaters all over town until he got something. He's really determined this one. I don't think he's hurt anyone unless someone tried to hit him or something but he probably would scare the living daylights out of them. (Opens a peace of candy and is about to eat it).
(Bumbles turns his head to look at me and starts approaching)
Oh come on! It's just one peace! How'd you even smell it from way over there?! DX
(Bumbles twitches his antenna and stares at me)
Eep. Um....You can have it. (Tosses the candy)
Cuteseepie tells me "Why did that scare you? That look was no different than when Wiggles begs for food and Wiggles arguably has a scaryer face."
I reply "At least I know Wiggles won't sting me. With Bumbles I have no idea what he's going to do next. Plus he's a wasp thing. I hate that it freaks me out but it does."
By the way. Is this something that needs to go in my sig or can I just put it in the Hypergoof shorts thread for people to see? I'm happy to put it in my sig if it needs to be there now but I'm just asking so I know the rules regarding this. I know some people allow adoptables to be put elsewhere and some really want the art to go in the sig.
(I will credit both you and the person who did the line art)
Name: Zutonamore (Zuton) for short'
Personality: Zuton likes tropical places, and he tends to get agressive if you get to close to his slumber area. He is also quite dependant as he is an excelent builder and he doesn't want any other Vesperwing to get in his way. He will although throw a nasty temper and sting if he get's to upset with his colony.
Backstory: On a rain day in this tropical area on a land unknown, there was a batch of Vesperwing dragon eggs, sitting there on a clump of mud and there was four in the batch and three had already hatched and left the slumber. The last remaining egg was still sitting there, as the rain fell on the thin layer of the shell of this egg, it suddenly cracked open and this young vespurwing stretched and yawned and looked to the sky, wondering where this water was comming from, being as he was a baby still he didnt know much.
The tiny vespur soon got to his feet and wandered from the mud patch and ventured arround, looking for his mom, which she had abandoned him because she thought the last egg wasn't gonna hatch. He alone, let out a tiny pitch noise, wanting his mom to return but she was long gone. The rain was beeting down even harder now and a beam of lightning cracked across the sky and thunder soon followed, as the baby vespur jolted with fear, he tried to fly but his tiny wings were to short so he ran into the forest where the trees would be protection from the rain but he was still scared of the lightning so he ran into a small cave and waited it out.
The rain soon stopped and the vespur wandered out of the cave, tiny and helpless he didnt know what to do, he knew if he didnt teach himself how to hunt for food he would perish so he took about a week or so to finally teach himself how to catch some food so he wouldnt starve. Every day he grew a little bigger and taught himself now how to fly and his tiny wings were also growing.
.........A MONTH LATER.......
This baby vespur dragon was now a young adult and he started to build himself a nest, high off the ground, he was an excelent builder and he used sticks and leaves and his goo from his mouth to form a nest fit to his desire. He fended off enemys, including the dreaded fireworms that swarmed his nest every so often, bugging him and tormenting him, he usually gives them a sting of paralysis for a warning but it quickly wore off. He roared and the fireworms flew away and he just hovered infront of his nest, defending it and protecting it every day and night. He buzzed and hovered until his wings got so tired he had to land in the nest and sleep. Every day and night he fended off these pesky fireworms. If they got to close and tore the nest he would have to rebuild it again, over and over, this got him mad and he buzzed his wings and kept stinging them.
This was an every day thing for the vespure dragon and even though he would get anoyed by those fireworms he stood his ground and never let the nest perish or the fireworms take it over.
