He'd never know. An innocent fifteen year old afraid of dragons. Viggo was never wrong. But it's not like it mattered, because he'd be like everyone else. And nothing would change her mind. (Hiccup x OC; Rated T in case)

A collection of short stories focusing on Melodious Malena, Victoria Trainer and Manera, as they balance their lives and looking after an island full of unwanted dragons. Included will be stories from the dragons point of view.

Wacom intuos pro S

Well 2 days ago my parents bought me this tablet Wacom intuos pro S.Its not huge (I guess S means small but I think its medium size) and its pretty easy to learn how to draw on it (it took me like an hour maybe less than that) also its really thin.Oh and it doesnt have that much buttons so you wont get lost :). I dont think its the best grafic tablet in the world but for me its perfect. Sorry that I cant compare it to any other tablet (its my first one) xD.Hope you dont mind.

Mine's an older one, but it's called an Intuos Pen and Touch, I think? It's the small size, but it works for me because I barely have room on my desk for my laptop let alone a drawing tablet XD It looks like this:

I'm pretty sure they don't sell this one anymore, and if they do, it's probably a "refurbished" version or used.

This one is pretty much exactly the same thing I have, only newer and the pen doesn't have an "eraser." (Link should open in a new tab.) My mom got it for my brother's robotics team and I tested it, so I know it works exactly the same. I can't remember if this one has the "touch" feature included, but mine doesn't work anymore and I never used it anyway, so it's really not a dealbreaker. It comes in blue and white, and the blue is actually really pretty! This is what it looks like:

I personally really like the Intuos because it's cheap, easy to use, and the new colors look nice! It's a good starting tablet, perfect for getting the hang of digital drawing with a tablet. It comes with a couple of art programs, and maybe some offers for free stuff? Mine came with a code for a free metal print of a photo, provided by one of those websites that prints photos and stuff, but the code was expired by the time I got the tablet :c (That's what I get for choosing an older model XD)

Something you'll want to watch out for is the pen nibs. While the pen doesn't have batteries and probably won't hide(unless it gets chewed by a dog or something bad like that XD), the pen nibs will need to be replaced after a period of time. Honestly, it depends on how much you draw and how hard you press the pen to the tablet. My first nib (the one that came with the pen) lasted me about 2 years before I had to replace it. Then again, it would've been better if I had replaced it earlier, but oh well XD The tablet comes with replacement nibs (hidden in a compartment on the back of the tablet itself) but once you run through those you'll need to buy replacements.

And please, don't fall for the "DIY cheap pen nibs!!!" tutorials online! They will damage your tablet and possibly your pen. And the spaghetti one is horrible, because the raw noodle can break inside your pen and then you can't use the pen because there's broken spaghetti in it. And replacement pens can be expensive (more expensive than buying multiple packs of nibs). So just go with the official replacement nibs. They're expensive, but it's better in the long run. (I looked it up, and they're $7.99+shipping an Amazon for 4(?) nibs. The pen itself is $29.90+shipping on Amazon. You could get approximately 12 nibs for the price of one pen. And when you think about it, if you need a new pen because of DIY nibs causing it to break, you have to buy new nibs anyway. Just a thought...)

Setting up the tablet is very easy. There is a CD that comes with the tablet to install the driver, but I'm almost certain I didn't need it for both my personal computer and the robotics computer mentioned earlier. All that's really needed is to plug it in and follow the instructions.

One last thing I feel is worth mentioning is the driver can be wonky. I regularly have to restart the driver on my personal laptop by going into services, unplugging the tablet, stopping the driver, restarting my laptop, and turning the driver back on. I don't know if it's because I have an older laptop running on Windows 8, because it's an older tablet, a combination of both, or something entirely different, but I have to do it almost every time I want to draw. To the best of my knowledge, this has never occurred on the robotics laptop (a new laptop running on Windows 10 with a new tablet), so it's probably my computer being a butt XD It's not harmful to anything, but it can be annoying when I only have an hour or so to draw and I have to do this process, which can be time consuming. :/

Overall, I think it's a really good idea to start with an Intuos, and if you want, to work up from there. It'll take a little getting used to, but it's really worth it! If you want a program that works well with tablets/pen pressure, I'd recommend Krita (it's free and it's amazing, although a little hard to learn).

Hope this helps! :D

EDIT: Sorry if some of this is worded weird. Tbh I don't feel like proofreading this, so if anything needs clarification, let me know :) Also, sorry if there's typos. The forum spell check has been working on and off lately :P

NOTICE

I am no longer taking requests for viking licenses. I am sincerely sorry about this, but I hope you will all understand. It all kinda boils down to the fact that I really do not have time anymore. If you wish to have a more detailed explanation, I would be happy to provide one, as long as you are respectful. Again, I apologize, and hopefully someday I can resume making these for y'all.

 Thank you for understanding!

Give them no reason to stare
No slipping up if you slip away
So I got nothing to share
No, I got nothing to say
...
We start with stars in our eyes
We start believing that we belong
But every sun doesn't rise
And no one tells you where you went wrong
...
When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around
Do you ever really crash, or even make a sound?
