Faolan

Faolan followed along with Aki's movements, starting with shifting his weight and getting the beat which was not that hard. He made sure to do the movements on every other beat like Aki said before moving onto the leg movements. he tried his best to mirror Aki movements until he got to the arm movement part wich was where he tried to get a bit creative and added his wings into the whole dance. Faolan's dancing was not to bad but due to his size it was a bit chuncky and slow at times. "How am I doing?" he asked Aki as he spun a little, getting a little better as he kept going.

Faolan's dancing was not to bad but due to his size it was a bit chuncky and slow at times.

“How am I doing?” he asked me as he spun a little, getting a little better as he kept going.

I smiled and complimented, “Great, you’re a fast learner. Keep it up and experiment different movements.”

I then began doing different movements myself, letting myself get immersed in the music and dance to my heart’s content. As I did, I decided to let small flames escape my fingertips, not enough to attract attention from the people in the streets, adding on aesthetics to my dance.

HERE coz I’m lazy.

(I suggest you mute that and play the song in my prev post)

Aki complemented his dancing and began to add some fire to her dance as she changed some things up. Faolan was mesmerised slightly by her show and began to put some extra flare to his movements though he could go as far as she was.

"M...make?" Xenophon questioned, perking up curiously at my words. "M..m..make food?" He asked.

Subconsciously, a small smile escapes from me. For some reason, his innocence of not knowing what I meant reminded me of the days of raising Lily of all those innocent questions that needed explaining while those eager little eyes of hers gazed up keenly, curiously waiting for an answer that'll mean the world to her. It seems so long ago now. I slightly pushed off from leaning against the counter and placed my hand under my chin, "Let's see now... um.. to make food is to combine different types of foods like meat, vegetables, and other things to make something new," I answered, "come I'll show you."

I made my way over to one of the checkout lanes out front & scanned the small magazine display on the side eventually picking up a magazine called: Foodies. Stepping to Xenophon's side, I flipped open the magazine & held the magazine up so that he could see along with me all the images of the different dishes of food as I turned each page, "See this is what making food is."

Though being fully immersed in the music, I didn’t fail to notice Hawk arrive at my side and I couldn’t help but gaze in his direction. Seeing for myself on how happy he was.. on how that spirited grin of his revealed his enjoyment with every move he produced. I had to laugh and smile at the sight of it all. “Are you enjoying the festival so far?” I asked loud enough for him to hear over the music. The question was out of the blue & dumb to ask, I knew he was enjoying the festival.. but for some reason apart of me wanted to hear it from him.

Faolan began to put some extra flare to his movements, looking like someone who had years of experience dancing in just the couple of minutes since he first learned.

He sure is amazing, I thought, dazzled by the dragon’s display.

I danced along with him and as the song ended, I traced a heart in the air with flickering flames from my index fingers. My fingers met at the bottom point of the heart and I turned my hands palm-side up. I brought them up to my mouth, blew the heart-shaped fire in the direction of Faolan, the flames going a small distance before dissipating, and gave him a bright smile.

“Are you enjoying the festival so far?” Tigerlily asked in the middle of the song above the music.

I finished my move, spinning around and replying jubilantly, “He.ll yeah! You too?”

Ryu walked over "Say, do next what do you want to?" he asked. "Hmmm, I don't know... No wait! I do know! I'm hungry, let's go get some food!" Baske exclaimed, jumping up. Following her nose, she made her way to a van with a large opening on the side. Standing off to the side, she watched as people stepped up to the side of the van, and traded money for food. Oh, so this needs money, ok. Baske reached down and opened her pouch (which thankfully had been tied well enough that it hadn't flown off during the slingshot ride). Money in hand, she joined the small line. When it was her turn, she stepped up to the window, her nose flooding with odd scents. The man in the van looked down at her "So what'll you be having?" he asked. "Ummm..." Looking up Baske saw a board covered with the names of food. This is what you call a menu, I think? She didn't understand what most of the food names meant, she knew what a sandwich was, and a hamburger was just another type of sandwich, but she wasn't sure what a 'burrito' was, or a 'corn dog' and what the heck was 'poutine'? How the heck did you even pronounce that?

"Uh, do you have anything that's just plants? Like no meat?" she asked. "Well we have a vegetarian burrito," the man answered. "Um, what's a burrito?" Baske questioned. The man stared at her for a second in disbelief "You don't know what a burrito is?" he asked. "No," she replied, slightly annoyed. "Ok... well a burrito is, well, you have a bunch of ingredients, right? Like meat, and veggies and you wrap it up in a tortilla. A tortilla being like a really flat piece of bread, sorta... The vegetarian burrito only has vegetables in it, lettuce, tomatoes, etcetera," he explained. Baske thought for a minute. "Ok! I'll have one of those then!" A minute later the man handed her the burrito and she handed him the necessary amount of money. Baske stared at the strange food item, sniffing it, before turning to Ryu "What do you want Ryu?" she asked.

[Insert whatever Ryu does here]

After paying for Ryu's food, she wandered down the street. "So Ryu... any ideas for what we can do?"

~Rita Ritz~

Triton looked over at her. "Who knows..." he said. It was silent for a few moments, and Rita thought the conversation was over, until Triton questioned her "Say, how did you come to be a part of this group?" Rita blinked at him a few times, before tilting her head up towards the sky and sighing. He told me his story, I should tell him mine. "Well... I might as well start from the beginning," she said, gazing at the stars. "My parents... they're... complete control freaks. They hate that I act like a bit, ok a lot, of a tomboy. They always want me to wear makeup and all the current fashions and just be feminine and such. So as soon as I graduated high school and got my drivers license, I was out of there. I went to live with my uncle. Uncle Ronald has always excepted me for who I am, unlike my parents... So I stayed with him. Then I found out that he had been asked to join a top secret government project. I asked to come with and wouldn't take no for an answer. So I went with him to the Dome. I learned about the hybrids and decided to... become one. Because I volunteered, they let me choose my DNA combination and I became a domestic hybrid. For months I tried to figure out a way to help the hybrids imprisoned there... but the scientists kept a close eye on me. And then I met Faolan and his little group, we escaped and now we're here," Rita divulged. Rita looked down at herself, her scales, her tail, her larger-than-life fangs. "And I'm not so sure if it was a good decision," she whispered. Looking up she said louder "My parents don't even know I'm a hybrid. I'm not sure how they'd react if they ever found out. Heh, they'd probably disown me," she chuckled. Then, frowning, she looked at the ground, thinking about her mother and father. "At least I have my uncle. He doesn't care what I look like. I'm still the exact same person on the inside," Rita said. At least I hope I am. "You know... my uncle is a really great guy. You wouldn't think so, seeing as he was working at the Dome, but he is though. He'd never deliberately hurt anyone. The Dome scientists kept him in the dark, he didn't realize what was actually going on. I figured it out pretty quickly when I arrived there, but he's... always been a bit... naive... He's really the best uncle I could ask for though. The rest of my family doesn't like him, thinks he's a bad influence, if you call 'being a nice person' a bad influence," Rita rolled her eyes. She was silent for a minute. "Yeah... so, that's it, that's how I got to be here, running for my life,"  All actions have consequences, Rita.

~Sea Fern~

She followed Milo to the end of the road. There, set up in a small cul-de-sac, was a small wooden stage. At one end of the stage was a large white screen, in front of the screen was a computer and a grey box with a sort of lens on it, some sort of camera maybe? Milo lead her through the crowd of people standing around the stage, stopping next to a young woman. "This is my sister, Megan. Megan meet Sea Fern," Megan smiled at her "Nice to meet you Sea Fern," she said. "Uh, you too Megan," Sea Fern replied. A guy wearing a tall pointed hat covered in yellow stars walked into the center of the stage "Ok, so who's ready for karaoke?!" he called. The crowd cheered. "Me first!" Milo called, climbing onto the stage. Sea Fern watched as the star hat guy went over and clicked something on the computer and then flipped a switch on the gray box. Words suddenly appeared on the white screen and Sea Fern realized that the box was casting light onto the screen, displaying the lyrics to a song. Music started playing and Milo began singing the lyrics along with the music. He sounded terrible. "I thought he said he was good at karaoke!" Sea Fern said to Megan. "Well, yeah, that's what he thinks!" she replied, laughing. "I really like your costume by the way Sea Fern," she complimented. "Thanks! I... like yours too..." Megan was dressed in a green, black and gold fake leather outfit, with a golden headpiece that had two curling horns on it. "Thanks, I'm dressed as Loki," she said. Yeah, yeah. Don't know who that is. Don't care. "Cool..." Sea Fern said. "But seriously, I don't think I've ever seen a costume like yours before. I mean, you have tentacles and feathers! That's pretty unique," Megan continued. "Thanks. I am unique," Sea Fern said matter of factly. Sea Fern stepped away from Megan slightly, she didn't want her inspecting her costume to closely. Milo finished his song and came over to them. "Hey! Meg! Sea! How'd you like that? Pretty good huh?" he asked, grinning. Sea Fern glanced at Megan. "Uh, yeah! I was great bro!" Megan said and Sea Fern quickly nodded.

A few more people sang after that. They were thankfully much better at singing than Milo. After another song finished, Milo looked over at her "Hey Sea! It's your turn!" he announced. Sea Fern looked at him surprised "Wait what? My turn? I- I've never- singing isn't really my thing..." she stuttered. "Come on! You'll be fine! There's a first time for everything, right? I bet you'll sound great!' Milo said reassuringly. Sea Fern thought for a moment. Was getting on stage, in front of dozens of people, all of them watching her, really a good idea? She couldn't do that, the possibility of making a mistake and revealing her hybrid nature was too high a risk... She- Oh who was she kidding, she might never get a chance to do something fun like this again. "...Ok. I'll sing," she said. This is such a baaaaad ideeeaaaaa "Yes! Get on that stage and show 'em what you got!" Milo said. What I've got is tentacles, feathers and camouflage powers, and I definitely wont be showing any of that off "Yeah Sea Fern! You go girl!" Megan cheered her on as she walked up the steps to the stage. "Hey, welcome, do you have a specific song you'd like to sing or should I just pick something at random?" The star-hat guy said, hunched over his computer, looking over his shoulder at her. "Uh um I don't ...know? I don't.... really know any songs...," Sea Fern said nervously. "Ok, come look at this list I've got then, maybe there's one you like," star-hat said. Sea Fern walked over to him and his computer. She leaned over the computer next to him, nervously aware of the many people staring at her, waiting for her to hurry up and pick a song. Sea Fern gazed at the computer in wonder. She had never been anywhere close to a computer -well, not a working one that is. She had found a few broken ones in the ocean. This was a working computer, something that she should get to use all the time, to watch videos, to research things, to... do whatever cool stuff people do on computer that she should get to do, but can't! Sea Fern had to force her head tentacles from thrashing in anger. "Um, hello? You picked one yet?" Star-hat guy asked, nudging her with his elbow. Sea Fern snapped out of her frustration and quickly scanned the computer screen "Oh, yeah um! How about..." she saw a song title she liked "How about that one?" she said, pointing too it. "Unstoppable by China Anne McClain? Good choice," Star-hat said. He handed her a microphone and Sea Fern went to stand in the middle of the stage.

The music started playing through the speakers. Sea Fern looked out at all the people watching her. Such a bad idea. She gripped the microphone nervously, her palm suction cups sticking to the device. The lyrics of the song appeared on the screen across from her. Taking a deep breath, Sea Fern began to sing.

                               "Ha- hard to-o take

Th- uh day you... just can't catch a break

When it brin- ing- gs  me down, I get right back up

                               'Cause I'm powerful

                                      Incredible

Independent girl ready for the world, world, world!"

She suttered a bit on the first verse, but she quickly got a hang of it and started singing clearer.

                  "Come on, tonight I'm unstoppable

                             Incredibly stroooong

                          Tonight I'm unstoppable

The world is calling me out, out, out

Don't want to whisper. um... Want to shout, shout

                   C'mon, you know I'm unstoppable!"

Sea Fern smiled. She was really starting to enjoy this. She started dancing slightly on stage, the people below cheering her on.

"When your the girl you want

It right to pull a stunt

It's time to show what... lies be- behind the front...

Get up on you feet, make the scene complete

                Underneath the lights. Everything's alright

                                      ... Right"

                    "Come on, tonight I'm unstoppable

                    I'm unstoppable. Incredibly strong

                           Tonight I'm unstoppable!

                                 I'm unstoppable!

                        The world is calling meeeeee"

Soon Sea Fern finished her song and descended from the stage amid wild applause. "You were great!" Megan said "That was awesome!" Milo agreed. Sea Fern smiled. The lyrics had sometimes went a bit too fast for her to read perfectly and she was a bit off tune and she sometimes sang too fast or too slow, but she'd done pretty well and it was really fun. "Yeah, it was. Thanks,"

Finishing off his move, Hawk spun around and replied jubilantly as the music came to an end, “He.ll yeah! You too?”

Just when I opened my mouth to reply, those around us began clapping so I joined in briefly clapping along with the rest. Usually when a song ends people would clap as a way of expressing that they’ve enjoyed the song selection. Once the clapping settled down, I went ahead and replied. “Yep!” I answered blissful with an added smile, “I always seem to enjoy myself when I’m with you, it never seems to fail.”

Another fast song started up and I decided to just freestyle a bit with this one...

“Hmmm, I don't know... No wait! I do know! I'm hungry, let's go get some food!” Baske exclaimed, jumping up.

Come to think of it, hungry I am as well, I thought and concurred, “Sounds good.”

I followed her to a van with a large opening on the side. I observed the transactions made at the opening, getting a gist of how the system operated after one time. We joined the line and when we were up next, Baske stepped up to the window. The man asked for what she wanted and she ended up deciding on a vegetarian burrito. After a bit, Baske received what she ordered and checked it out before asking me, “What do you want Ryu?”

“Um...a sandwich,” I answered.

“One sandwich coming right up,” the vender replied and disappeared into the truck.

After a little time, he returned with a sandwich in a paper food tray. Baske then paid for the food and started wandered down the street. “So Ryu... any ideas for what we can do?”

I swallowed the bite I was taking and looked about. Between rides, there were small stands with stuffed animals and more hanging from the ceilings and on the walls. People walked up and did some activity. Sometimes, they got something from the walls, sometimes they didn’t.

“Try one of these, let us,” I said, pointing at a game and walking over to observe the stand in detail.

I watched as a family sat down in seats in front of the stand. They all took one of these strange looking guns and aimed at the back wall where there were targets. Upon the word go, they all pulled triggers and water squirted out onto the targets. Up on the back wall was a scoreboard with ships that progressed from a starting line towards a finish line on the opposite side. When the first ship crossed the finish line, a bell rang and one of the people was announced winner.

“Say about this one, what do you think?” I asked Baske.

Rita tilted her head up towards the sky and sighed before beginning a run down of what happened to her to wind up here.

“Well... I might as well start from the beginning. My parents... they're... complete control freaks. They hate that I act like a bit, ok a lot, of a tomboy. They always want me to wear makeup and all the current fashions and just be feminine and such. So as soon as I graduated high school and got my drivers license, I was out of there. For months I tried to figure out a way to help the hybrids imprisoned there... but the scientists kept a close eye on me. And then I met Faolan and his little group, we escaped and now we're here,” Rita divulged.

Rita looked down at herself, seeming the say something to herself before speaking up again.

“My parents don't even know I'm a hybrid. I'm not sure how they'd react if they ever found out. Heh, they'd probably disown me,” she chuckled, but soon frowned.

I assumed it was a lot for her to contemplate.

“At least I have my uncle. He doesn't care what I look like. I'm still the exact same person on the inside,” Rita said. “You know... my uncle is a really great guy. You wouldn't think so, seeing as he was working at the Dome, but he is though. He'd never deliberately hurt anyone. He's really the best uncle I could ask for though. The rest of my family doesn't like him, thinks he's a bad influence, if you call 'being a nice person' a bad influence,” Rita rolled her eyes.

There was silence. I waited to see if she had more to say, but the reptilian hybrid concluded, “Yeah... so, that's it, that's how I got to be here, running for my life.”

I could see her point. True enough, this life had a kind of freedom you wouldn’t have in a normal society from what I’ve observed. But to become a possible test subject by choice...I wasn’t sure if that was a favorable trade. As of her uncle, I understood why she’d like him over the rest of her family members. But there was still a lot I wanted to learn about him, the doctor lady, and the guy who’s her husband.

Who am I to judge, I thought, about to reflect on more recent events. But I shoved them aside and replied, “Well the past is the past...I’m sure you’re parents cared. That’s why they were overly strict. Everyone has a way of expressing care. It’s just that some people aren’t the best at expressing it.”

I glanced in the direction of the town, “As of your uncle, I can’t say how I feel, but I’m sure he’s kind. He gave you the opportunity to escape from your old life. That’s how he expressed care, hm...I guess you could say the people at the Dome were also doing that out of care...to advance science, protect their country, protect their families...”

I felt a yawn incoming and stifled it. Reaching up to my nape to stimulate blood flow, my fingers brushed over my gills to find them a little dry. I looked over at Rita as I massaged the back of my neck, “Well it was nice chatting with you. If you would excuse me, I’m going to bathe.”

Faolan brought his dance to a close but he held a bright eyed draconic smile on his face and said happily, “that was amazing!”

The next song started as Faolan asked, “is there any other ways to dance?”

“Many,” I replied. “There are all kinds of styles like hip hop, breakdance, rave, waltz, tango. Some can be solos, others are duets, and others are in large groups.”

Before Tigerlily could reply, people around us began clapping. I joined in the fray when Ty did. Once the clapping settled down, she replied with a blissful expression. “Yep! I always seem to enjoy myself when I’m with you, it never seems to fail.”

My heart skipped a beat to those words. I beamed, “Likewise! Let’s keep on enjoying and making this the best night it can be!”

We danced, laughed, and sang as the night went on. It was one of the happiest moments of my life.

One rather fast song came on and everyone began to get into a line, placing hands on the shoulders of the person in front. I jumped onto the conga line, waving backwards for Ty to hop on and grasp my shoulders.

Xenophon c.ocked his head to one side as Elizabeth explained making food, finding it very unusual. "Com...bine?" he parroted, unsure of what that word meant. He could deduce it meant doing something to two different foods to make them into one new food. This idea sounded very whimsical. Did she mean he could make Deerchicken if he tried hard enough? Or..... Honeychicken?

He eagerly followed Elizabeth over to the magazine rack, very much wanting to see how to make these combined foods. He was a bit confused when she started showing him the pictures, having never seen meats in highly prepared states (or.. really in anything more than the way it looked on the actual animal). He did however recognize a few of the food items like hotdogs (as he'd stolen from campsites before) or certain vegetables. It suddenly clicked with him what she meant. "Y-...you m-mean.... y..you.. mean....." he stuttered, struggling to find the word. He'd had it mere moments ago, what was it? ".....C...c...cook?" he questioned slowly.

I waited patiently as Xenophon studied each page I turned too. In the back of my mind, I was hoping something in this magazine - whether visual or wording - would help him understand what I’d meant. And shortly enough he speaks.

“Y-...you m-mean.... y..you.. mean....." He stutters struggling with his words,  ".....C...c...cook?" He finished asking slowly or cautiously as if he wasn’t sure if he was right.

But no, he’s got it right.

I nodded my head, giving him the assurance that he was indeed correct. “Exactly,” I answered with a fuller smile appearing on my face, “to make food is to cook and I could do just that for you if you’re hungry.”

"Try one of these, let us," Ryu said, walking over to one of the game booths that lined the sidewalk. "Say about this one, what do you think?" he asked. Baske walked over to him and looked at the game. People sat down and then would squirt water at a target, using guns attached to the counter. The water somehow caused ships to move across a wavey board thing. Whoever got a ship to the other side of the board first was declared the winner and got a prize. "Sure, we can try that!" Baske said. As she walked over to the booth, she took a bite of her burrito "Wow! This is really good! Not bamboo level good, I mean nothing is bamboo level good, but it's really tasty," she commented. "Hello! Would you like to play?" the woman running the booth asked as they approached. "Yeah!" Baske said, sitting down on a stool. She handed the woman the money and the woman explained how to play. "Ok, so you need to try to aim for the hole in the center of the target. The more water you get in the hole, the faster your ship will go, the ship that reaches the finish line first wins!" Baske looked at the targets, the targets weren't that far away, but that hole was pretty small. Taking another bite of her burrito before carefully setting it down, Baske wrapped her hands around the water gun. "Ok, so you are ship 1," the woman pointed at Baske "and you are ship 2," she pointed at Ryu. "Ready? Go!" the woman shouted. Baske pulled the trigger and aimed the stream of water at the target. The two ships raced across the board, neck and neck (or bow and bow in this case XD). Ryu was starting to pull ahead, so Baske adjusted her aim to to better get more water through the target. It continued like this for a few seconds until one of them made it to the other side. "Yes! First place!!" Baske shouted, leaping up from her seat. "Great job! Come pick your prize," the woman said, motioned to the shelves full of plush toys. Baske leaned over the counter, scanning the rows of prizes. She spotted one she liked "That one," she said excitedly, pointing at it. The lady picked her choice off the shelf and handed to her. Her selected  prize for winning the race was a small pale yellow pillow in the shape of a star, with a smiley face on it. "I've never had something like this before!!" Baske exclaimed, hugging the star. "Where to next?!" she asked Ryu, burrito in one hand and pillow in the other.

Triton contemplated what she had said for a moment. "Well the past is the past... I'm sure your parents cared. That's why they were overly strict. Everyone has a way of expressing care. It's just that some people aren't the best at expressing it," he said. Ha, yeah, trying to force me to wear makeup at all times is definitely caring. At least I'm eighteen now, they can't control my life anymore. "As of your uncle, I can't say how I feel, but I'm sure he's kind. He gave you the opportunity to escape from your old life. That's how he expressed his care," Triton continued. I gave myself the opportunity to 'escape', I just showed up at his house and was like 'I'm staying here now, k? Thanks!' and he agreed, because he is kind. "I guess you could say the people at the Dome were also doing that out of care... to advance science, protect their country, protect their families..." Triton trailed off. Perhaps, but that still doesn't justify kidnapping innocent people and to.rtur.ing them. That's no justification at all. "Well it was nice chatting with you. If you would excuse me. I'm going to bathe," Triton said. "You too..." Rita said, as he walked off in the direction of the river ((can I just assume that he walked off to the river?)) It was nice talking to Triton, he seems like a pretty nice guy. I wonder what was up with him and Hawk earlier... heh, probably macho posturing. Rita looked around, everyone else appeared to be asleep. Looking up she could see that the mystery singer was still in that tree, maybe they had fallen asleep too. Walking away in the opposite direction that Trtion had, she thought more about what he had said. Triton has a good point. There is good in everyone, even the most evil of people, you just have to look for it... That still doesn't make what they are doing to us okay though, that will never be okay. And the 'protecting their country and families' part... they shouldn't have to even do that. That's the governments fault. This stupid cold war... it's been going on for who knows how long and it not like it's about anything important! You know they're just fighting over things like oil and coal or something. Pathetic...

...Why can't people just get along?

Rita strolled to the edge of the river ((a completely different part of the river from where Triton is)). Kneeling down, she dipped her snout in the water to drink. Raising her head and looking down she watched as her reflection in the water seem to change for a moment. Reflected on the rippling surface of the water was a pale skinned young woman, with long black hair, dark green eyes and a serious expression. Rita blinked and it was gone, replaced by her scaly, fanged face. She stared at the moonlit water for a moment, before sighing and getting up to walk off into the darkness.

~Sea Fern~

After karaoke was over Sea Fern decided she wanted to go explore the festival more by herself. Before they parted ways, Milo gave her a small piece of paper. On it was written the words 'Call me' and a string of numbers. A phone number? Why would he give her his phone number? Why would she want to call him? Shrugging, Sea Fern tucked the note into her head tentacles, her suction cups gripping it in place out of sight.

Sea Fern wandered the festival. She looked at kiosks, tried different foods, and watched street preformers. Walking past a clothing shop, she stopped to stare at the displays in the window. I wish I could wear something like that. But then again... maybe she could. Sea Fern thought about her current shirt; it was fraying around the edges and one of the sleeves had a large rip at the shoulder seam. She still had money left, maybe she should buy a new shirt. That is what they came into the town to do after all, to buy clothes for the escapees. Sea Fern pushed open the door and walked into the shop. "Oh, hello... we were just about to close... you won't take long, will you?" the girl at the counter asked. "Don't worry. I'll be fast," Sea Fern reassured her. Just a quick look around and if she didn't see anything she liked she would have to leave empty tentacled. Searching the store, Sea Fern spotted a mannequin wearing a pretty blue shirt. Striding over to the mannequin, she saw that it was standing next to a shelf full of folded shirts. Rustling through the shirts, she saw one she really liked. Picking it up, she walked over to the counter "Could I try this on?" she asked. "Sure, the changing rooms are just over there," the girl said, motioning to a row of doors along one wall. Sea Fern dashed into one of the rooms, closing the door behind her. Pulling off her dress, she tried on the shirt, it was too small. Putting her dress back on, she walked out of the changing room and back over to the shelf of shirts. This time she grabbed a whole handful of shirts and went back into the changing room. Trying on the shirts until she found one that fit comfortably, she admired herself in the mirror. "I love it. I look great!" she whispered. The shirt was a light tan color, sleeveless with a single strap that could be buckled around her neck. She took the shirt off and slipped back into her dress. She walked over to the counter "I want to buy this!" she exclaimed, holding up the shirt. The girl at the counter nodded and started to tell her the price when Sea Fern interrupted her. "Wait, do have some shorts that will go with this shirt? Like the same colour?" Sea Fern asked. Her shorts were in better shape than her shirt, but why not buy a new pair? In fact... "And with pockets?" she added, realizing that it would probably be a good idea to get some pants that had pockets. The girl pointed her in the direction of a shelf of shorts. Sea Fern found some that matched with the shirt, tried them on, found one that fit and then payed for her new outfit. She walked out the door, with her new clothes in a plastic bag. When she was sure there was no one looking, she tucked the bag under her dress, wrapping her tail tentacles around it to hold it. Then she walked happily back out into the festival.

“Yes. Yes. Yes." He repeated rather excitedly, adding, “I..I-I h..hh..wwould l..l'like that ver-y m'much." Though he struggled with his words, he still held his spirit - this was the first time I’ve seen him excited rather than quiet & skittish.

“Alrighty then,” I grinned, closing the magazine & placing it back on the display. “..but first, we’re gonna have to clean up all that trash you took out from the bin.” I added nodding towards the trashy mess scattered on the floor.

We wanna respect Amber & Clark’s little market home, so, we want to leave everything just the way we found it.

And so I started to pick up the mess with the help of Xenophon. Gathering crunched papers, empty containers (including the one that was used as a chew toy), and other things before positioning the trash bin upright and dumping the trashy contents back inside. Once we were done, I glanced around the market area. I need to ask Amber if it’ll be ok for me to use her kitchen and in order to do that, I needed to find her first. And so I called out to her, “Amber, where are you? I need to ask you about something.”

~~Tigerlily~~

We danced, laughed, and sang as the night went on. Every single moment that went by, went by with joy and to be honestly, I felt so free!

Another rather fast song came on and everyone began to form a conga line, placing their hands on the shoulders of those in front of them and Hawk jumped in, waving backwards for me to hop on too. And so I did & grasped his shoulders, laughing as I noticed the prized monkey on his back bobbing around to the beat.

“Looks like the monkey on your back is enjoying himself too,” I laughed jokingly.

Xenophon's antennae twitched when Elizabeth said 'Alright', as he was fairly certain that meant that she'd cook for him. However, she added a 'but' and pointed at the mess he'd made, mentioning cleaning. He could guess that she meant cleaning the stuff up, which he was a little reluctant to do (only because that was his least favorite chore to do). Nevertheless he followed Elizabeth over to the bin and tried his best to put stuff back in, though this was difficult with his sticky feet at the end of his scythes. He managed to get three things in the bin, four if you count the paper plate that remained stuck to his foot after they finished.

Xenophon was preoccupied with picking the paper plate off of his foot with his mouth while Elizabeth was calling Amber. His antennae twitched in Elizabeth's direction curiously, while he himself managed to remove the plate from his foot and spit it out into the garbage bin.

Amber

She heard her name called from the store, she set down her glass of wine she had been enjoying while whatching a movie with her husband and walked through a few doors to get to the store. It had been Elizabeth, "I'm here, what is it that you need to ask me?" she questioned happily as she entered the store to see the doctor and the mantis hybrid.

The race was neck to neck, Baske’s ship eventually pulling ahead and winning.

“Close, that race was. Nice job, Baske,” I complimented her for her win.

She went to select her prize and chose a yellow star-shaped pillow.

“I've never had something like this before!!” Baske exclaimed, hugging the star. “Where to next?!” she asked, burrito in one hand and pillow in the other.

“Hm,” I hummed as I recalled the other games I saw along the way.

“Ah, know a fun one, I do,” I said and led the way to a ring toss game. The stall had a table in the middle with many bottles. People were throwing rings at the bottles. It appeared if a ring landed around a bottle, you won a prize.

“How’s this?” I asked Baske as we arrived at the stall.

Tigerlily grasped my shoulders, laughing while the conga line began quickening the pace.

“Looks like the monkey on your back is enjoying himself too,” Tigerlily laughed jokingly.

I looked over my back briefly at the monkey bobbing to the beat of the music and chuckled, “Yea.”

Before I could say more the conga line jerked forward and I returned my focus to staying in line.

The line moved faster and faster and finally, at the end of the song, it broke apart and we all split up into different groups.

I laughed, facing Ty, “That was fun.”

It wasn’t long until Amber came into sight. "I'm here, what is it that you need to ask me?" She questioned happily as she entered. I shifted myself towards her & gave her a smile in return, her happy inquiry rubbing off me.

“Well, I was wondering if it would be alright if I used your kitchen so that I could cook something up for Xenophon,” I explained. “He was rummaging through the trash not to long ago and I would want to make him a decent meal that’s not from the trash.”

Amber listened to what Elizabeth wanted to do and found it to be quite nice, "be my guest, I too would rather he eat a proper meal than trash" Amber stated before walking over to a door and opening it. "Here is the kitchen, everything should be easy to find and use, give a shout if you can't, also keep out of Clark's brownies" Amber leaned closer to Elizabeth "I make them only once a year and he is addicted to them" she said jokingly.

I laughed.

“I won’t be surprised then if I find them locked up tight like Fort Knox,” I commented my laugh shortly calming down into a chuckle. “I’ll be sure to steer clear of them, thank you Amber. If I happen to have some cooked food left over, I’ll leave some for you and your husband.”

Xenophon flexed his mouthparts after his successful removal of the plate, then glanced over when the human they call 'Amber' approached them. He strained himself to understand their conversation, which to him, had alot of extra information for just one simple question. Still, he didn't think of this as a bad thing. He was a naturally curious person. It did frustrate him with how fast they were talking, though. It was hard for him to keep up.

So, he was very eager when Amber led them to the kitchen. He immediately ducked through the doorway once the door was open, waving his antennae and looking around curiously. Alot of the things in there he didn't recognize, such as the refrigerator or the oven. Xenophon ambled up to the refrigerator first, as it smelled faintly of food. However, what fascinated him most was how much coldness he could sense from it. He was cautious of the appliance because of this, but stood just close enough for him to run his antennae along the seams of the refrigerator (where the door met the rest of the appliance) curiously.

((I'm just assuming that they have a fridge and an oven in the least. If I'm wrong, then I apologize and can edit.))

~Baske~

"Ah, know a fun one I do," Ryu said. He lead her over to another game. People were throwing plastic rings at glass bottles, trying to get a ring around the neck of a bottle. "Looks fun, let's try it," Baske said. She paid the person running the game and they both got a little basket of rings to throw. She aimed and threw one. It bounced off. She threw another one. It bounced off too. She threw a bunch in a row. They all bounced off the bottles. Baske was starting to get a little frustrated now. "I thought this was going to be easy!" she cried. "Most people do," the guy running the booth said. Taking a deep breath, Baske tried to calmly toss the ring. It bounced off - again. She kept throwing, using different ways of tossing, until she only had one ring left. She was just plain mad now and so she tossed the ring with all her might - and it settled around a bottle. "Wow, you actually got one - uh, I mean, congratulations! You get a prize!" the game guy said. Baske blinked in surprise "Wait I- Yes! Ha! I knew I'd win," she said confidently. Looking at the prizes hanging around the booth, her eyes were drawn towards a little ninja plush, wearing a black ninja outfit with a green headband. "I want the ninja, yeah the one with the green headband," she said and the plush was handed to her. She smiled at it. Tucking her pillow and ninja under her arm, she turned to Ryu. "Your turn Ryu!"

((How about Ryu wins too, gets a prize and then we timeskip?))

~Sea Fern~

The octopus, seagull and cuttlefish hybrid spent the next couple of hours enjoying all that the festival had to offer.

She tried more of the different foods from the kiosks (cooked crab was almost as good as raw crab), tried her luck at some games (the only thing she managed to win was a dumb looking pair of novelty glasses) and she bought some tickets and went on some of the rides.

---

"Grrrrraaaaaggaaeeeeeeeeaaaaackkk!!!" Sea Fern screeched as the roller coaster flew through another loop.

---

Splash! Sea Fern laughed as her ball hit the target and the person was dumped into the tank of water.

---

"Wow. I've never been this high up before. I can see everything," Sea Fern said, gazing down from her seat on the small Ferris wheel. "Whoa!" she cried as a burst of coloured lights lit up the sky with a bang. Fireworks! She thought, staring in awe at the multicoloured spectacle. She had seen them a couple times before, but only from a distance.

---

It was almost six o'clock. Sea Fern was wandering through the crowd, looking for something to do for the remainder of her time. Over the tops of the people surrounding her, she saw what appeared to be a dance floor. Slipping through the crowd, she made her way over. She walked onto the floor, admiring the pretty lights above. The music was pumping and there were lots of people dancing. Sea Fern began to move to the beat. Moving her feet and arms, she sashayed across the dance floor.

The song finished and she clapped along with everyone else. She was now on the opposite side of the dance floor. As a new song started she spotted a familiar figure. Dancing closer, she saw Hawk and Tigerlily together on the floor. "Hey you two!" Sea Fern said, swaying past them. She swirled around to face them, still dancing. "This whole festival has been so freaking fun for me! What about you?!"

I nodded and took my first ring and tossed it. Like Baske’s run, I missed it and continued to miss for the next several tosses. I considered simply throwing in frustration, but I knew that Baske’s was by chance.

Analyzed how she threw, I should have, I thought as I drew one of the last rings.

Come...On! I thought and willed with all my might to land the ring as I tossed it. It hit the brim of one bottle and bounced off and got ping ponged between that and another bottle until it slid down the space between them.

Curses, I thought as I drew my second to last ring. Close, but not enough.

I threw this one with a rounder arc. This time, it was closer, but still toppled over. I held my final ring and launched it again, Here goes nothing.

I threw it and surprisingly this time it landed, spinning around the bottleneck a couple of times before stopping.

“Congratulations,” the man said, “pick a prize!”

I looked around the available prizes and selected a snake. “I’d like that one.”

The man running the booth took it down and handed it over. I took it and gawked at how surprisingly soft the material of the snake was.

“Wow,” I breathed. “So soft.”

Instinctively, I wore it around my neck like a scarf. After realizing my action, I looked over at Baske, “am I holding ths right?”

Hawk looked over his back briefly and chuckled, “Yea.”

Before anything else could be said more the conga line jerked forward all of a sudden and I clumsily tripped over myself but thankfully got back my footing. Avoiding, what some say, is a embarrassing situation.. how does almost causing the biggest domino effect in a conga line sound like to you?

I’m graceful that I had someone stable in front.

The line continued moving though picking up speed in what seemed like quick bursts until at the end of the song, the conga line broke apart and everyone all split up into different groups.

I took a breathe in and exhaled, passing my hand through my hair, feeling as if I’ve just been in some fitness program. A rather enjoying one actually.

Hawk laughed, “That was fun.”

I turned my head slightly towards him and smiled, “Yeah it was. If I didn’t know better I’d said we participated in some fitness program.. I honestly don’t remember these conga lines ever going so fast,” I then chuckled finding something funny in my reply.

(What Hawk says/does if any)

Another song soon started up in follow of the last and as everyone once again started dancing, I just stood for a moment and watched until I suddenly heard a familiar voice speak.

“Hey you two!"

I turned towards the voice to find Sea Fern swaying just pass. She then swirls around to face us, “This whole festival has been so freaking fun for me! What about you?!"

“Its been great! Got nothing to complain about,” I replied.

(What Amber says/does if any)

With that our brief conversation ended and Amber left, leaving only me and Xenophon. I glanced over at Xenophon briefly wondering what to actually cook for him. I had a slight idea, but, without knowing Xenophon’s exact likes and dislikes of food deciding what to cook him can be difficult. Entering into the kitchen, I leaned against this island that sat in the middle of the kitchen and started going through different dishes in my mind as I watched Xenophon investigate the fridge.

And after pondering over them for a few minutes, I decided to do a Stuff Chicken recipe that my mother use to make. The recipe in itself called for chicken b.reast, bacon, mushrooms, and cheese. And as for a side, I could make white rice or salad. The thing is, though, I wonder if he’ll be interested in having something like that.

“Hey Xenophon, how does Stuff Chicken sound to you?” I asked, “It’ll have bacon, mushrooms, and cheese in it.”

((Finally I finished - If anything needs to be changed or removed let me know))

However, he was already on board after she'd said 'Chicken' so he vigorously nodded his head. "Y-yes. I l..l-like that't't." he told her.
