(( @Infinty I think if the ribs aren't too broken that you can just wrap a bandage around his waist and the ribs will heal on their own??? I think... not sure though... I'm no doctor. ))

~Rita Ritz~

Aki arrived at Faolan almost at the same time she did. Aki asked Elizabeth for help as well and Elizabeth soon pushed through the crowd of hybrids that surrounded Faolan and started checking on Faolan. When Rita heard Elizabeth say Faolan's condition her eyes widened and she frowned 'Cracked ribs? If I was just some scratches and bruises it wouldn't be too bad,but... broken ribs????... things just got a lot worse for us.' Rita thought to herself.

~Scytha~

Scytha had gone off into the forest to hunt down some food for herself and the other hybrids. She stalked through the forest until she smelled... blo.od? She walked in the direction of the smell and saw a giant praying mantis eating a deer. 'Hmm. Another mantis hybrid' Scytha thought,The other mantis hybrid looked very much like a dried leaf, with a long crest coming from his head that matched the rest of his dried leaf appearance. This mantis hybrid was not form their group, she would have noticed if there was another hybrid like herself. She looked at him for a minute before giving him a small nod, then she turned around and walked farther into the forest.

"Thanks." I told Hawk, sharing about half of the supplies with him.

"I sure wish I had a bag to hold all of this..." I muttered to myself, struggling to keep small bottles of pills and syringes filled with who-knows-what from falling to the ground.

With a small 'pop' a tiny black velvet bag appeared out of gold fire, looking about the right size to hold a small ring, or some other type of jewelry. It didn't seem very useful, until it stretched, dived forward, and engulfed the supplies before shrinking again. Interesting. I plucked the bag out of the air and checked inside it, where I found it was actually bigger on the inside. ((mwahahahhaha I had to))

"Thanks." I muttered to the air, talking to my magic like it was another being entirely. Sometimes, it really did seem like it was. Almost as if...

I stopped the thought right then and there, not wanting to think about it as I hung the velvety bag around my neck, next to my rune. Suddenly, a black figure practically dropped from the sky. I rushed forward, ready to fight, when I realized it was actually Faolan, hurt and unconscious. The woman from the stream- I think I heard someone call her Elizabeth -rushed forward to check the still hybrid.

Knowing I would only add to the chaotic mess of hybrids that were already murmuring and crowding around their leader, I decided to simply wait for news and find another way to help. I started walking around, seeing a couple others with similar ideas start making temporary shelters from the now-pouring rain. Just as I was about to assist them, I caught the faint smell of a deer, and the thick coppery scent of blood that the rain couldn't mask.

'Perhaps an injured loner?' I wondered to myself, following the scent.

Eventually, I did find the deer, just not in the way I expected. A mantis hybrid who bore an uncanny resemblance to a brown leaf was reflectively chewing on a young deer's neck, not even bothering to have cooked it first. Carefully, I approached, unsure how the hybrid would react.

"Hello there." I softly spoke, revealing myself from the cover of the trees.

"Are you alright?" I asked.

♪ Xenophon ♪

Xenophon daydreamed as he ate his meal, thinking about various random things. His mind manipulated his surroundings to resemble such as what he saw in his mind's eye. With his odd jumble of human-to-mantis bits, he couldn't close his eyes but he could still dream and imagine. Unfortunately this lead to too-vivid daydreams, some of which being day terrors. So, as he swayed, when he saw a large mantis staring at him from across of where he was, he didn't know whether to run, or assume it was a dream. Panic arose in him as he tried to assess the situation, but then the figure nodded to him and then disappeared into the shrubbery.

He twisted around, looking for signs of ambush. Had it been a dream? Reality? Or something else? Xenophon didn't know. His guard was raised as he shook back and forth, looking around and listening for anything to cause alarm. Minutes passed by, and he had started gingerly chewing on the deer again when he sensed another approaching. This time he knew where it was at before he saw it, and twisted his head around to see it. A hybrid slowly approached him, and spoke something. He waved his antenna back and forth, shaking to keep her in his line of focus in case she made any sudden movements. Her tone was soft, but her unfamiliarness seemed threatening to him. The mantis hybrid pivoted his upper body around towards her, dropping the deer carcass.

"Hostile, run before it attacks!"
"Curious creature, soft tone.."
"Possible prey.."
"Unintimidating now.."

Thoughts flew through his mind as he watched the hybrid silently. She spoke in a language he knew a little of, hearing it off of humans and what faint memories of his father he had. Unsure of what to do, he slowly got down to all 6 legs, taking a few steps towards her, all the while rocking back and forth. Partly because he was used to this as to keep his line of focus in check, and partly because he was nervous. Xenophon raised his upper body again, looking the hybrid over curiously, still being restrained in preparation of betrayal. He then thought of her words, puzzling over them and how to respond.

Once what to say clicked, he tested his voice once after a very long time of not using it. "Eeecchhk" He managed out, startled slightly by the distorted, muttled noise that he hadn't intended on making. "Ooocckkeey?" He managed. This brought to his attention that his grasp on this language was worse than he'd thought. The hybrid was very odd looking, having both scales and fur on her odd head, as well as being oddly shaped in general. Then again, most humans were. He ran his antenna across her head, feeling the fur atop it. "Odd.." He thought as it didn't register like the furs of most animals he'd caught before.

The hybrid seemed startled and dropped his deer, watching me with unblinking eyes. After a few seconds of thought, he seemed to come to a conclusion and approached me, swaying oddly on all fours (sixs?) before raising his upper half again. He thought for another moment, and I have to admit I was surprised when he spoke- I had begun to assume he was mute.

"Eeecchhk... Ooocckkeey?" He clicked.

My forehead creased in confusion. Was he unfamiliar with english? Or maybe his vocal chords had been messed up by the mantis DNA. Either way, communicating with him would be difficult. I froze when his antenna brushed my damp hair, and he made a sort of confused face as he did it. Because of this, I was guessing he was a natural hybrid and probably unfamiliar with english.

"Hmmm..." I hummed thoughtfully. What did I know about Mantises? I know I learned about them from someone. I was fairly sure that the female killed the males after breeding, and the males were known to be frightened easily... Or at least that's how it was with some species. For all I know, this guy was thinking about a magical hybrid snack.

A bit disturbed at the thought, I slowly backed away from the prodding antenna. Only about one or two steps, safe distance but still close enough to interact.

"Alright, no english." I muttered to myself. He seemed pretty curious, maybe if I returned the action?

I inched forward again, sllloooowwwlllyyyy reached out with my hand, and... Kinda took hold of his claw thing? Thinking about it, that would probably just freak him out. Too late now, at any rate.

"Uh, I'm a friend." I spoke slowly. I pretty much did everything slowly around this guy.

"Friend." I said again, gently pulling his claw so it tapped my chest.

Yeah, this was getting kinda weird. Why was I doing this again? I mean, sure he looked a bit lost and scared, lonely, but... How far was I willing to go to try and befriend this hybrid?

Xenophon kept his eyes locked on the hybrid as she slowly backed away, out of reach of his antenna. Semi-disappointed he drew them back and waved them in the air again, pausing every so often. She moved ve-ry slowy, reaching out one of her odd limbs towards him. His guard began to raise and he slightly drew his arms away from her, but eventually she grabbed his right arm. He flinched as she touched him, panic starting to stir in him as he didn't know what she was trying to pull. "Danger.. danger.. run.." His alarm bells rang in his head, but his curiousity urged him to stay. She pulled his arm out and rested it upon her chest. "I'm a friend." She said slowly. "Friend."

Xenophon tilted his head at the gesture, not quite getting it. Perhaps this was a greeting? She emphasised the word "Friend" so he tried to mimic her. "Frr-ehknd." He tried, then not really knowing what to do with his arm, attempted to put her arm against him like she had. "This encounter has been odd.. should I stay?" He thought to himself silently. These creature's ways were strange to him, and he wasn't sure if he should occupy his time with them. The mantis hybrid untangled his scythes from their odd greeting and began to groom his scythes, running them over his head and bringing down his antenna to run them through his mouth-parts. He then recalled his previous thoughts and wondered if he could share them with the visitor. "Hy..brid?" He said, still tentatively gnawing on his antenna. "Smo-eke... r-..run?" "To speak in thoughts.. much easier than this.." He thought. It also brought up the question if they COULD hear his thoughts. He pondered this while listening around him, still focusing on the hybrid.

~Memory Realm~

I roamed the land of my memory, trees as ancient as time stood all around me and bushes that contained my favorite berries lay weighted with their succulent fruit. I passed them by though as I wandered, not really knowing where I was going in the depths of my mind.

A black from shot past me; a spiny, white fur like mane ram all the way down his back and stopped at the tip of his tail. The form was a tad fuzzy, almost like someone had smudged the picture of the little hybrid. Another form chased, this one white, chased after the smaller form; both had what looked like wings and both were hard to see because of their blurred forms.

Laughter caught my ears as I watched the white hybrid catch the black one and swing the youngling around. I walked closer to the physical memory and it dissolved. I walked deeper into my memory forest and came across a black wolf-like figure that had what looked like she had owl wings and was sitting on the ground next to a stream as a larger version of the black dragon hybrid with the white mane played with the smooth stones that caught his eye in the glimmering water. Again when I walked close to the memory it disappeared.

I walked into a clearing that contained a crude but solid looking log house. It flickered, one moment it was dappled in sunlight, then drenched in rain, and finally engulfed in fire. I walked up to the flickering house, looked up at the place that was once my home and then continued on my journey through my forest of memories.

I passed a cave on my trek and the dragon that resided there watched me and nodded at me as I passed. I had made peace with it and after the friendship I was able to start learning how to use my flame. The dragon stood and took to the skies of my inner world, I watched in awe for a little while before I walked on.

I came upon a hill that looked over a rather tiny town, it barely had 50 people living there and it had only one road leading in and out of the place. I lay down on the hill next to a, again larger than the one I had previously seen, version of me. This time this memory didn’t evaporate when I came to close. I watched with myself as my father cloaked up and walked towards the town, the sky shifted so that it was very early in the morning, he was going into the town to get some seeds and medicine for the year, he rarely made these trips but most of the town was friendly to him, especially the grocery store owner.

Again the memory faded and I was left in the infinite evening light that was always present in this realm of mine. I sighed and took to the sky happy in this little world of my own creation.

~End Memory Realm~

I groaned again as I felt my body being moved, most places hurt; there was the blunt pain of a bruise, the sharp fiery pain of cuts, and the sudden sharp pains that occurred alongside my inhalations due to my two cracked ribs. I cracked open an eye and glanced at those who were around me, I was searching for a specific face. I smiled up at Aki when I found her, “told you I would find you” I said to her in a light voice.

((I really don't even know what I'm writing, tbh))

"Frr-ehknd." He said, repeating the gesture I had done with him arm with mine.

'Well, that whole thing was weird.' I thought to myself.

We lapsed into silence for a few moments, then he began to groom his claw-like appendages. I sighed, figuring this whole thing was pointless, when he spoke again.

"Hy..brid?" I raised my head at this.

"Smo-eke... r-..run?" I tilted my head, thinking.

At least he was attempting to communicate, but it wasn't enough. If only I was a buggy hybrid too, then maybe I could do something so we could better understand eachother. I curled my tail around myself thoughtfully, my wings twitching as I became increasingly frustrated.

'If I tried to find another bug hybrid to translate, he might run off. If I try to keep talking to him, I don't think we'd get anywhere either. If only I could just...' I snapped my fingers, forgetting to be quiet for a moment. Magic! Of course. The one thing I had was my magic... But I couldn't control it.

I slouched, pouting a bit when I remembered the half/half thing. That stupid half/half thing. I got the magic, he got the control. It was dumb.

'Well, it's still worth a shot.' I decided, putting other thoughts on Him to rest. He was gone, and I couldn't do anything about it.

I closed my eyes and concentrated, praying to God the mantis hybrid wouldn't attack me while my guard was down. I imagined reaching towards him, sending a simple message across the barrier of our minds. A few moment, any second now...

I groaned in frustration. It was like trying to kick down a brick wall. I glared at the ground, trying to come up with a new plan.

~

"You have that eye for a reason. Your magic is powerful."

"I can't do anything with it."

"It's an all-seeing eye."

"That makes me sound like I can stare into someone's soul."

A flash of purple hair falling over my third eye.

"I don't like it."

"You should learn to."

I didn't like my eye. How was it important to this? 'All seeing' was just a silly phrase. I had never actually-

~

"Minds are tricky things. No one likes their insides to be shown."

"Why not? Wouldn't understanding others be simpler?"

"Yes, but some people don't want everything to be understood. Everyone has secrets."

~

Okay, this was getting annoying now. Talking to this hybrid was a bad idea. I turned to leave, deciding to leave him to his own devices.

"Oh for, JUST OPEN YOUR EYE!"

I almost screamed. What the censored?! Was that a voice? Who was that? Why did that happen? Was that the mantis? I turned again to accusingly stare at him- but realized it couldn't have been. If it had been, he would've started off communicating telepathically instead of struggling through broken english.

I huffed. Well, whatever it was- WHOEVER it was -maybe I should take their advice. I closed my two usual eyes, parted my hair to open my third eye, and concentrated.

To my suprise, something actually happened. Something intentional that I was controlling. I couldn't help but be excited as my vision sorta... Zoomed in. I was seeing into the mantis's mind. Memories and thoughts zipped about, but I payed no heed to them as I tried to send a message.

"Hello? Is this actually working, for once? Can you hear me?" I thought towards him, opening my eyes again and making sure to keep my third eye's view on the mantis.

The hybrid didn't respond, instead closing her eyes and curling her face up in an unusual way. Xenophon simply dissmissed this as an adverse reaction to his bad communication skills. He decided talking wasn't the option, not right now anyways. As he continued grooming he went over the events of today in his mind, until suddenly a thought that wasn't his own appeared in his mind.

He paused, both physically and mentally. What was that? It could've been a random thought, but at the same time it might've been something else. He glanced over at the hybrid and he realized, with a start, her fur was peeled back to reveal a third eye. A shiver ran through him, the sight uncanny. However, he seemed drawn to stare... "Hello? Can talk through thoughts?" He tested in his mind. Perhaps they could. There was an underlying feeling of.. something happening here. He could feel it. An unknown force this creature somehow was controlling..

"Or maybe thought-speech is normal. Hear me now? Why are there so many of you? Why go close to water?" He recoiled as a drop of rain struck him on the head from inbetween the canopy overhead. "Slow down, I can't keep up with everything." I thought back at him, trying to be louder so he could discern my message above his own crowded thoughts.

"Uhm... Yes, I can hear you. There's a lot of us because we're all trying to escape and survive together. And the water... Well, it actually isn't as dangerous as you might believe."

Oh geez, he was terrified of the stuff. I thought I caught a flash of a flood, killing hybrids similar to him, but I couldn't be sure unless I dug around to see, which would be rude and very invasive of me.

"Water can actually be... Peaceful, nice, calming." I did my best to portray a memory of me swimming around with koi, calm and safe and happy. I was pretty sure it came across as a blur of blue along with orange and white smudges moving around.

"But, if it really does bother you..." A black umbrella was already in my hand, the golden fire still fading from around it. I pointed it upwards and slowly opened it, watching as it impossibly expanded to completely shield us both from the rain.

"This will protect you from the rain. Er, that's what the water falling from the sky is called. And this is an umbrella." I finished lamely, watching as the stray water droplets bounced against the fabric and trickled to the ground.

Then, a blurry imagine flashed in his minds, carrying with it different emotions and thoughts with it, memory of a calm pool of water with koi fish swimming in peaceful patterns.. A wave of calm spread over him at the pleasant memory, but movement in the real world caught his attention followed by the words "But if it really does bother you.."

He caught a glimpse of golden light disperse just as his vision snapped into focus, watching as the hybrid held a long black stick with what looked like webbing like a bat's wings curled at the top. She unfolded it, and the membrane spread overtop of them, supported by the stick. Soft thumps sounded as raindrops bounced off the top. Xenophon looked down at the curious hybrid, sensing feelings he could relate to. "I know the feeling of running from those you do not want finding you.." He thought, inching towards her and ducking slightly under the 'umbrella', he thought he'd heard. He had calmed down considerably, now relaxing as the sound continued.

"...."

"Your group might think you've run off.." He thought, remembering the large mass of hybrids. "I.. I don't want you to be left because of me. Superiors shouldn't be displeased.." The mantis hybrid thought. He tried to keep his thoughts organized for the hybrid, but the idea left a bad taste in his mouth. He didn't want to get her in trouble, but at the same time he didn't want her to leave just yet. The peace.. the calm.. he wasn't sure when his mind was this clear last..

His head started to hurt. Xenophon rubbed it with an arm but the mild headache continued. He could sense the other hybrids, moving about and such, he wondered how a group could get so large and diverse. What were they running from? A thought flickered in his mind, a memory of an odd place.. a memory that was not his own. It carried a sharp and harsh smell, with bitterness and cruelty. He shook his head to clear it. Elizabeth came over and began checking Faolan’s status. I meekly watched her, only able to do nothing but to be anxious for the black dragon hybrid.

But, I fought that worry. He’ll be ok. I repeated countlessly in my head.

When the doctor stood up, I gazed up expectantly.

“Faolan's heart beat is steady but his breathing is abnormal. The reason that his breathing is abnormal is because he has two broken ribs in his lower left rib cage,” She announced and then faced me. “Aki, he'll be ok sweety. But we need to get him out of this rain so I could help him.”

I nodded, staying levelhead. He’ll be ok. The doc said so. He’ll be ok.

“Ok,” I carefully picked him up into my arms and walking towards the nearest tree giving cover when I heard a groan come from Faolan.

Looking down, I saw Faolan glancing around until he rested his gaze on me. “Told you I would find you.”

That’s when the tears began to fall. I couldn’t say a single work. Instead, my tears sent the message of how anxious I was. Of how my mind couldn’t stop wondering how the dragon hybrid was fairing. I squinted the close and quivered slightly as I reached sheltering trees which towered far overhead. I placed the awakened dragon hybrid down on the ground, leaned up against the tree trunk and sobbed weakly over him.

My tears dappled Faolan for a moment. I hadn’t cried in a long time. All the time I had held in tears was finally out like the rain falling from the sky. Lifting my head up, I wiped the running tears from my eyes and blinked at Faolan. If it weren't for his condition, I would've hugged him and not let go for a long time.

“Thank goodness you’re back,” I managed a smile, sniffling.

Aki began to cry after I spoke, I could tell she had been ever so anxious for my return. She squinted her eyes closed and quivered slightly, I wanted to comfort her but I ached to much to move while she carried my body. Aki placed me against a tree and cried over me, her tears falling against my black scales.

They felt, strange, as they hit my scales; like little balls of fire. For some reason the ache in my muscles began to ease. A memory of some fairy tail I had read long ago flittered in my mind but I ignored it. Unknown to me Aki's phoenix tears increased my already decent ability to heal.

"I am glad I am back as well" I said to Aki as she sniffled and stifled her tears. Thanks to my lessened aches I reached to Aki and gently and slowly pulled her closer with my right arm, since it was my left side that hurt, brining her head closer, I kissed her her on the forehead -or at least as much as a dragon could, it looked I just put my muzzle on her forehead-.

I released Aki and smiled up at her 'I'll be fine now that I am with you all" I told her. It was a partial lie. I was still trying to figure out what had happened. I had been fighting someone who looked like my father but was not him, this stranger had held a gun to hy head and then I thought I saw my father in the white dragon's eyes, did he shoot the human? I thought to myself as I tried to figure out what had happened.

"Xenophon. Well, that's a name you don't hear every day. I like it, it's original. Nice to meet you Xenophon." I smiled warmly at him.

I couldn't help the few extra thoughts that slipped in. It was an original name, one that I had never heard of before. It was interesting, but in a good way. I liked it.

I frowned when Xenophon asked about the fire. I wasn't really sure how that had started.

"To be honest, I'm not quite sure how that happened. No one was hurt too badly from the fire, though. The rain should put it out." I replied, looking again at the darkening sky.

I suddenly felt a tinge of sadness, followed shortly by a dulled curiosity directed towards the group.

"They're nice hybrids." I commented, unsure what exactly he was curious about that had to do with the group.

"They won't hurt you- I won't let them." This poor guy was already at his limit with fear and nerves. I wasn't about to let that get any worse.

Suddenly, a sharp clap of thunder sounded, causing me to jump a little. White lightning flashed across the sky before more thunder could be heard, and I felt the hairs on the back of my neck tingle at the sight of lightning in it's raw form. No magic, no bending, just pure crackling electricity. It was beautiful, in a dangerous way. How exciting.

"Erm, we should probably find better shelter than an umbrella, especially if there's lightning." I said, watching a few more streaks of lightning flash farther away, causing only dull rumbles instead of the loud booming from a few moments ago.

Xenophon ~ Ghost Mantis with a bit of Budwing Mantis

((no, you're fine Random))

♪ Xenophon ♪

The mantis hybrid felt slightly satisfied that she liked his name. He'd always thought of it being very long, but he was glad she liked it. Lucy didn't seem to know the cause of the.. fire, as she called it, either. She did mention the rain would've put it out by now, though. Xenophon was skeptical of water serving that useful of a purpose, but looking back it very much had. Dark smoke still lightly floated above charred trees, hard to see against the dark stormy sky. "Well, maybe fire drive out prey from that part, like the deer. Should make better hunting." He thought, hoping to put a positive spin on the fire.

"They're nice hybrids..." He heard her say in his mind. She must've picked up on his curiosity about them. Doubts crept up his back, still slightly worried this all might be a trap. Tried as he might to shake them they were still there. He wanted to shove aside his concern, finally not worry so much but.. he just couldn't. The hybrid nodded his head, keeping his doubts hidden. He wasn't quite sure if nice to him and nice to her meant the same thing.. or whether they'd only been nice to her.. or whether they'd turn on him.. or..

Suddenly, a bright flash lit up the sky. Xenophon could sense awe from Lucy seconds before a loud noise rattled the sky- and him. He felt thoroughly shaken after the loud crash, although Lucy seemed less phased. She suggested they find better cover than an umbrella. He sat there for a few seconds, frozen, then thought "How do you do that? So calm.." It really did confuse him how she seemed generally unconcerned with things that normally petrified him. What was her secret? Nevertheless he nodded slowly at the thought of better shelter. "Yes.. shelter.. away from the rain.." The hybrid thought. Though as lifesaving as the umbrella was earlier, it had started to pour down harder now, and stray raindrops maneuvered their way into still hitting him every now and then.

§ James §

They seemed to be pulling to a stop when James finally woke back up. He blinked his eyes in confusion at first, being in a van with a bunch of men and hybrids- then he remembered. The fight, the mission, etc. He gingerly brought a claw up to his nose, wincing as he touched it. It was bandaged up, along with a few bandages plastered along his shoulders and ribs. Seemed the doc went care-happy on him. The van doors flung open abruptly, and the various people and hybrids piled out of the van, including James. Once he'd stepped out he let out a slight gasp, as they were in a huge dome-shaped concrete garage filled with various vehicles and tech FOR the vehicles lying around. A man approached him, about ready to hook an "Obedience collar" on him. James took a step back, raising his claws defensively. "Ey, I'm a domestic. And necklaces aren't my thing." He said. The man looked at him, irritated, then walked off. James "hmpfed" in amusement. Another person approached him. "Identification." She said, a small woman with a clipboard and a handgun strapped at her side. James instinctively reached to the side of his pocket, only to find it wasn't in its usual place. "Eheh.. erm.. a moment.." He muttered, panicking quietly as he rummaged through his pockets, struggling to actually reach inside them. Finally, with a sigh of relief, he found it. "Here ya go, ma'am." He said, handing her the small scratched up plastic card. She stared at it for a moment, her face blank of any emotion. "Right this way.. sir.." She said, adding the 'sir' a bit hastily. James gave her a confused looked, but followed along anyways. They walked towards one of many different doors and exited the garage, where James was met with a blindingly white hallway. And when I say white, I mean everything was white- pure white. The air was sterile and lacked any sort of smell at all, except smelling of scientist. James closed his eyes against the brightness, opting to use his weakened sense of smell and electrical signals than risking blinding himself again. It felt like an eternity before the woman's voice broke the relative silence they'd been in, aside from his heavy footsteps and the clopping of her heels.

"Your room, sir." James squinted his eyes open to see a much darker, smaller room with a cot in the corner and a desk in the opposite end. An old, cube-screen type monitor sat on the desk. A lone wire rack with a few various articles of clothing hung on it was shoved to one side of the room, and for some odd reason a sink and mirror were situated across from the door, a near the clothing rack. The whole place was a dull grey color, clean, but lifeless.

He loved it. "This is your room, where you'll be staying.. with the other domestics.. Don't wander." The woman said briskly "Bathroom's down the hall, on the left, to the right, then straight ahead from there. Don't stay in there for longer than an hour, we'll know. You can look up a map of the facility on the desktop. Don't break anything."

The woman tossed his I.D. card on the table. "We'll make you a new one later, for right now keep that on your person at all times. I'd just HATE it if you were mistaken for a prisoner.. She said as she left, closing the door behind her. James rolled his eyes. "Cheery little lady..." He muttered, then glanced around the room. It looked so familiar to the tunnel dorm.. but so much cleaner. There weren't cobwebs on everything or dead rats scattered here and there. He walked around the room, straightening things out and rearranging things. Eventually he got to the desk, and pickednup the I.D. card. Why she had paused made sense to him now.

For one thing, it had dried blood staining half of it. Another thing was it was horribly scratched up, and faded. He was surprised he'd made it this far with the thing. On one line read his name..

"James -" the rest was faded. This very moment made him realize he didn't know his own last name. This deeply troubled him, even after thinking on it. "How could I forget my last name?" He thought, with his own mind giving him the answer. "Because, you were shoved in a dark hole for years on end without any social interaction whatsoever." James bit his lip, hoping not to ponder such matters too thoroughly. He walked over and turned the sink on, letting the water flow and soothe him. He sat down on his cot and rested his eyes, although this didn't help him avoid the questions much.

Amelia, Cora, Lilith, and Lucifer~

((I hope you don't mind me describing the base a little bit. I can change it if you want))

((Well... I just realized my error with the Subject line. Guess you know who she is now. XD))

((Okay so the last post was being weird, so I just copy/pasted everything into a new one. Sorry 'bout that))

Amelia~

The ride was long and bumpy, often time throwing about it's passengers due to vastly uneven portions in the old dirt path. The rope was rubbing my wings raw in places, and my wrists were starting to ache as well. My entire body had become sore due to staying in one position for such an extended period of time. However, we had finally arrived at the base.

The driver's window was rolled down, and he gave a quick report on what happened during the mission and what his cargo was (A.K.A. who he had managed to bring back). Satisfied, the guard opened the tall metal gate that I managed to glimpse through the windshield. We started moving forward again, slower this time, until we reached our final parking destination.

The back doors were thrown open carelessly by human soldiers dressing in camo and toting around large guns. Most of the hybrids quickly escaped the tight confines of the vehicle, while one of the soldiers had to drag me out. It wasn't by choice- I just couldn't move. I didn't put up a fight while he placed a thick metal collar around my neck, locking it with a key.

"This collar will track your every move. If you do something we don't like, we can fry you via electrocution. So, I advise you to stay in line." The man explained as he undid all the other binding and restraints.

I nodded numbly, knowing I would soon be walking to my death. On the bright side, my wings felt better.

Once he was finished with the rope and cuffs, the guard motioned me forward. I followed, knowing that running with this band around my neck would only kill me faster. I knew the rules- despite Cora's wishes I could still be killed without her lifting a finger. My best bet was to hope she was truly evil, because evil people liked to watch their enemies suffer before death, and maybe somehow I could find a way to escape during that period. Huh, I never thought I would ever hope to be torchered. It's a bit... Unnerving.

I was led into a building with white walls, white ceiling, white floor, and white lights. It was nearly blinding after being in the dimness of the van. I continued to follow the soldier, not even bothering trying to memorize the way we came in. If it was anything like the Dome Facility, it would be maze-like and impossible to memorize at first glance. It seemed to take ages to reach Cora's room, but I knew it was just my mind warping time because of my nerves. I was probably going to die, or be torchered before dying. Either way wouldn't be great, since I hear dying is bad for your health.

We entered a room with a small desk and a tiny window- a far cry from Cora's elaborate old office. Yet, there was the she-witch herself, shuffling papers and scribbling things down with pen I knew hid a poison-laced blade. She almost looked like... A secretary? Or at least someone who definitely wasn't in charge.

The guard cleared his throat, and Cora stopped short before glaring daggers at him. However, when her soulless eyes landed on me, it was like showing a steak to a starving wolf. A raging, insane look entered her eyes, and I already felt halfway dead without her even touching me.

Cora~

After the termination of the original Dome, it was decided I was too incompetent to run another project relating to the hybrid soldiers without help. Things spiraled from there, and my so called 'Supervisor' completely stole my job and got me demoted to his secretary.

I growled furiously as I tore through papers, doing my best to do my job well while also painting this new guy in a terrible light. I expertly tweaked the wording of several reports, completely trashed some of his important papers (ones that couldn't be linked back to me) detailing meeting times, dates, and purposes. I kept track of anything interesting that I could use to my advantage, and also made various side-plans to poison or assassinate him later on.

While busy with a stack of reports, I didn't hear the door click and hardly registered it opening. When a large soldier- a man who's name I knew to be Bob -clear his throat, I halted and glared at him, already preparing to tell him off for disturbing me when I reconized a pretty face, with pretty butterfly wings and a pretty sweater. I smiled, filled with a corrupted glee at the sight of my favorite hybrid servant- Amelia Rose.

"Hello darling." I greeted her.

Amelia~

I was frozen in fear, remembering all the punishments Cora used to give me. What would it be this time? Whips made of hot iron biting into my skin while I hallucinated wildly about dying hybrids and lost all my memories? Or maybe she had dreamed up some new terror. I had heard about a type of torcher that involved live insect larva... Or maybe she would wipe my memory and reprogram me to do her bidding. Maybe she would humilate me somehow, like I humiliated her by causing the Dome to fail.

I was starting to shake, panic, break down.

'No, I need to stay strong to get out of here. I have to show her I won't be broken so easily.' I thought, forcing myself to stand up straiter and stare into the eye of the storm (that is to say, her cruel stormy blue eyes).

Cora was obviously thinking hard about this, and with each passing second I grew more nervous. I wish she would just spit something out and get it over with already.

"Send her into the basement, with the other rebel. Same protocol- mindless working with no sleep or food. I'd like to see her suffer a while, watch her will shatter before I end her life." She finally gave an order, muttering the last part to herself. I could only hear due to my enhanced hearing.

While her words terrified me, it was still better than some of the other things I had imagined. I'd take endless work over live insect torcher any day, thank you very much.

The guard nodded and took me away, leading me through a new maze of hallways and down a flight of stairs into a very dark place that reminded me of a horror game. The air was still and it was eerily silent. All it was missing was some black horror to jump at us from around the corner.

Just as I thought that, we rounded a corner and nearly ran into some black horror lurking just outside of a room. Startled, I yelped before backing strait into the guard. When I looked a bit closer, I realized it was just another guard dressed in black. He looked at me oddly.

"This one's been sent here to work alongside the workhorse." The guard said, shoving me forward again.

The new guy nodded in understanding before motioning for us to follow him. Into a grey room filled with computers, letting off a soft white glow. A single silhouette was outlined in front of a screen, muttering to himself while twitching and typing away. He was hooked up to various life support machines that kept him functioning, along with a strange head-set device covering his ears. He looked like he hadn't slept in years.

"He screamed during the power outage. I filed a report but..." New Guy told Guard, pulling me to a spare chair and starting to fiddle with the collar.

I couldn't be trapped here. I couldn't become like THAT. I had to get out, I had to escape.

"Eh, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I heard he went phyco when his old headset was broken, so I wouldn't be too suprised he reacted that way during a the few minutes without it." Guard replied.

New Guy unlocked the collar with a click and removed it, setting it aside and picking up various things to hook me up to my own life support machines. In the few seconds his back was turned, I came alive. I tackled him to the ground, clawing at his neck to distract him while I found a fairly big and heavy object to hit his leg with. A sharp crack sounded and New Guy screamed, instantly crippled and unable to do anything while I attempted escape. In my panic, I forgot about Guard. He rushed forward and seized my thrashing figure, shouting at New Guy for instructions on how to hook me up. Several minutes later, I was subdued and hooked up to who-knows-what. With the quick positioning of a different headset and a flip of a switch, my world started to fade away, lost in a torrent of information that I mindlessly began to log into the computer.

I was trapped.

Lilith~

As soon as the van doors were opened, I shot out like an arrow. I didn't bother checking in- as soon as the guards at the training grounds saw me they would notify the lady at the front.

I soared over the gates, breaking just about every rule there was about the facility boundaries as I flapped over the peak of the fence and dived down into the outdoor training area. After that electric shock, I wanted to try and work the soreness in my muscles. A quick hour or two of exercise, then a meal and some sleep.

As I flapped over to the first course, which was a set of flaming hoops that drastically twisted and jutted in various directions, I thought about the hybrid in the van. Amelia, wasn't it? The rebel. She was feisty, with an iron will. No wonder Cora wanted her back- the woman would love to break that girl.

Surprisingly, I felt a twinge of... Sadness. Amelia had been the only one to challenge me, stand up to me and fight, and win. She made me feel smaller, and even managed to drag up... A memory? What was that memory, anyways?

I executed a particularly tricky turn with ease, enjoying the intense flame crackling close to me. The memory didn't matter. Emotion didn't matter. Unlike what Amelia believed, choice didn't matter. I had a purpose, a job I was good at, and I refused to throw it all away for some silly rebellion that would quickly be squashed.

Satisfied with my decision, I flapped harder, faster, my momentum dragging some of the flame behind me. As I neared the end of the course, I swerved suddenly towards a target for archery, curling up at the last second as the flames flew around me and set the entire thing on fire. I smiled, happy with my ability as a guard quickly dashed forth with a fire extinguisher to put out the blaze.

Lucifer~

Brushing my teeth was such a long, difficult, boring task. The toothpaste here tasted like chemicals, my fangs always shredded the bristles of the brush, and the foam that resulted from the scrubbing was messy and annoying. However, the main reason I disliked it, along with all the other hygienic tasks I was allowed to do, was the fact that it always brought memories of her.

Who, you may ask? Well, her name is Lucy, and she's my twin.
We were captured together, along with my best friend Cromex and his little sister Perlac. We were taken, separated, and trained. Well, at least I had been. Perlac too, it seems, but with some... Side effects. I heard rumors of a bug hybrid who rebelled, and how his sister had killed at least four of the top soldiers in her attempt to save him. Some of the stories ended with him dead, others claimed he was brainwashed and kept somewhere with high security. My guess? Well... I tried to be optimistic, especially since I was almost positive that the 'buggy hybrid' was my childhood best friend.
If Perlac was who I thought she was, she didn't remember anything about who she used to be anymore. Seeing as she killed highly trained soldiers, I could understand why. She was valuable, but dangerous. Making her mind a clean slate was probably the easiest way to control her, train her, and send her off to kill our allies. I was still working on a plan to rescue her- I had heard something about a memory stimulant used on captives to extract information. Could be useful.
I realized I had been absentmindedly chewing on the thin plastic bristles of the brush, causing them to break off and stick to the sides and roof of my mouth. I quickly started to rinse them out, disliking the feeling of several prodding at my sensitive gums.
I hadn't heard anything about Lucy, despite her being my powerful twin sister. I had a minor lead- a hybrid with magic who teleported out of here quite some time ago. However, with a bit of digging, I discovered that hybrid had been locked in a tank at all hours of the day and night. Lucy couldn't breath underwater- Hydrokinesis was my magic type, however mild it may be.
Water washed away the colorful blue plastic from the toothbrush down the drain. I stared at it, pondering as I watched my element be used for something so normal. If only I had more magic to control. A little more of the essence my sister had inherited and I could be free from this place. I wouldn't have to pretend to be a perfect domestic. I wouldn't have to order my squad to carry out deeds I despised. I wouldn't have to worry about being promoted again- sending out troops into the field to hunt and kill the Government's enemies. I could find them, and we could run.
Water. The patient element. One that could sooth and heal, yet wear away at even the roughest rocks with time. One that could become a raging force, dragging down it's enemies in the grip of a current, drowning them in a few short minutes. Quiet strength and patience. The driving force. That's what I was.

And I just had to keep being patient.

I sighed, finally looking at the silver mirror positioned above the sink. Did Lucy have all this at her disposal? Was she kept in some dirty cage, like a few of the miserable prisoners I had seen here?

Was she... Dead?

I stared at myself, almost able to imagine that it was her staring back at me. If my hair was a little longer, my smile a little wider, my shoulders less broad, and my wings still pitch black like they used to be. If I squinted, she could be right there, waiting for me to break her out and save her. Her third eye could simply be closed.
Thoughts of her eye dragged up memories of our mother speaking to her. My sister had always hated her third eye, but our gentle mother never gave up in trying to show her how amazing of a gift it was.
'Please Lucy, it could be you. They could've just cut your hair, and you're hunching over. It could be you.' I silently begged my reflection, feeling like I was falling apart for the third time this month.
'You'd know how to help Perlac. Together, we could find Cromex. We could escape.' I was crying now, salty tears trickling down my face, reminding me again of water. The ocean. Our home.
'I wish those tales about your third eye were true. You could see me, communicate with me, and I could find you!' I tried to stop it, steel myself against the emotions before someone walked in and scolded me for showing weakness.
"Oh for..." Why should I care? Why did it even matter? I wanted to tear this place apart stone by stone, looking until I found my sister and my friends.
"JUST OPEN YOUR EYE!" I yelled at the mirror, my voice echoing around the empty bathroom.
There was a sudden shattering sound, bits of silver falling everywhere. My fist was bleeding. I realized I had punched the mirror. As I stared at the destruction of the common object, I felt a flash of panic that wasn't my own. Questions asked that I didn't need answers to.
I looked up, trying to reached towards the source of the emotions and thoughts.
'Lucy? Is that you?' I called out telepathically, but my range was too short. I was loosing her.
'LUCY!' I screeched, catching a flash of cloudy skies and rain. Was she outside somewhere? Was she in trouble?
Then, like a candle being blown out, the connection was lost. My tears had stopped, and I was in a state of mild shock. Using this break in my despair, I locked away my emotion and filled it's place with determination. I would be patient and perfect until I could find them, or my name wasn't Lucifer Wither.

I agreed with the mantis hybrid about the various prey that would be fleeing from the sight of the fire. At least hunting for such a large group should be a bit easier. Speaking of prey, I looked back at the fallen deer carcass, now soaking wet with a mixture of water and blood. I grimaced a bit, already knowing that most of the hybrids back at camp wouldn't touch it, and I doubted Xenophon would want it anymore because it was soaked.

"How do you do that? So calm..." A thought suddenly broke through my ponderings on the dead animal.

"Huh? You mean about the storm?" I asked, looking around quizzically for a second like there might be something else that I should be afraid of.

"Well, my guess is that I've had more pleasant experiences with water than you have. I've always known it to be calm and patient, whereas you've probably seen it at it's worst- a raging, uncontrollable force." I paused for a second, thinking.

"The bright lights, lightning, I'm not afraid of because it's... Something I can use to help others. The loud sound, thunder, is just a side effect of the lightning. It's loud and annoying, but nothing that can cause any danger." I explained, trying to explain my magic in simple terms. I didn't think he was quite ready to see something like my lightning sword or blue fire illusions.

"Anyways, shelter... Shelter, shelter, shelter." I repeated the word several times, looking around the forest for somewhere other than the camp to seek refuge from the downpour. I spotted nothing.

"The only shelter I know of is at the camp, where the other hybrids are." I gestured towards the hardly visible group, all scrambling faster to make more tiny buildings with what materials they had.

"I can take you the long way around so no one sees us, if you want. I think there's an unoccupied sort of tent- that's a created type of shelter -near the edge of the sight. I might be able to reinforce the walls a bit to hold up against any strong winds, although I doubt there'll be any winds, and it looks pretty safe from the rain." I told Xenophon, describing a moderately sized tent made of leaves and strong sticks close to the edge of the tree line. He should feel comfortable enough there, safe from the rain with and easy escape route if he wanted to make a quick getaway. Plus, a healthy distance from the cold stream.

Rita,Scytha and Sea Fern! And Mystery too!

~Rita Ritz~

Aki carried Faolan over to a tree and set him down under it. Faolan seemed to be awake and sort-of ok. Rita went over to where the other hybrids were hurriedly making make-shift structures to shelter under. Rita started to help them. Lightning flashed and thunder rumbled. She looked up at the sky "Yep,will definitely deter the hunters" she said quietly.

~Scytha~

Scytha returned to the escapees "camp" with a few quails that she had caught. Apparently Faolan the leader was badly injured. Aki carried him over to a tree and set him down and began to cry over him,Scytha could not hear what was being said between them, but when Faolan kissed- or at least tried to kiss - Aki on the forehead,Scytha guessed they were words of comfort. She set the quails down on top of a rock under a tree so they wouldn't get soggy. The rain was falling harder and she heard thunder.

~Sea Fern~

The storm was raging over the waters and Sea Fern and Seagill were forced to dive deep to stay away from the crashing waves the storm was causing 'I wonder if those other hybrids are ok,out in this storm' She thought.

~Mystery~

Mystery was flying when it started to rain. 'Seems my prediction was right' she thought. She flew down and flew along the ground, swerving around trees 'I need a place to shelter...' she thought. Mystery saw two large bolders leaning against each other, creating a sort of small cave. Mystery went into the cave, her cat DNA making it easy to fit. 'Good I'll wait out the storm here' she thought, making herself comfortable.

Xenophon ~ Ghost mantis with a bit of Budwing mantis

♪ Xenophon ♪

Xenophon stayed silent as Lucy explained how she probably had better experiences with water than he, which was most likely true. He tilted his head, however, as she explained she could use lighting. He wasn't quite sure what she meant by that, but it was just as strange as this thought-talking they were doing, or the umbrella suddenly appearing. He was certain she hadn't had that earlier. At the same time, she seemed to know alot more than he did, about alot of things. Maybe she just knew what she was doing?

Or maybe she was tricking him..

"Shelter, shelter, shelter.." He heard her mutter, looking around. Lucy told him the only shelter around was their camp. She offered a tent that was near the border of the area. Xenophon glanced up in an attempt to see it, although he couldn't quite make it out. He leaned back down and stared at the ground for a moment, thinking. Should he really go into a camp of complete strangers? "You've been in a camp full of familiar characters before, and that turned out well. How bad could strangers be? He thought to himself, keeping that quiet so Lucy didn't catch it. He glanced back up at the group of hybrids, then at the thundering sky, which only seemed to be growing worse.

"They won't hurt you, I won't let them." The hybrid recalled her saying to him earlier. He liked this hybrid, she was one of the first friendly faces he'd met in a very long time. After a bit more thinking, he nodded his head slowly. "Okay.. Take the long way around.. Are you sure this is okay?" He asked, starting to sway slightly as he situated himself in case they'd start moving soon. Where were these hybrids even going? Should he follow them? Xenophon shuffled his feet in slight nervousness, not really seeing much of an option at this point.

((Wow, 23 new posts.. sheesh.. I'm so slow))

Aki nodded “Ok,” She carefully picked him up into her arms and walking towards the nearest tree giving cover, I followed until I heard a groan come from.. Faolan. He's eyes opened and he glanced around until his gaze stopped on Aki "Told you I would find you.” Then that's when Aki began to cry over Faolan; I smiled slightly at the sight of the two hybrids.. she must had been worried sick for Faolan and now that he's here whatever worries she's had has faded away now that Faolan back.

Crying and all, Aki quivered slightly as she reached sheltering trees which towered far overhead. She placed Faolan down on the ground, leaned up against the tree trunk and sobbed weakly over him. I decided to give them some space so I walked over to another tree that was not far away from them, I stayed standing and I just watched the two hybrids.. I still needed to do my job and treat Faolan's wounds but I didn't want to interrupt.

With the rain pouring down from the sky; flashs of light was off in the distance and thunder rumbled almost making the earth itself shake under its quake. I watched as hybrids rushed to make shelter grabbing any materials they can find to do a make-shift shelters, I briefly took my gaze away from the other hybrids and turned to Aki and Faolan.. I watched as Faolan reach over to Aki and gently and slowly pulled her closer with his right arm, being her head closer.. he just put his muzzle on her forehead, was that a kiss?

Surprised I was that I just looked away; but I smiled as I did, I sense something between the two of them.. its the same vibe that I sense between my daughter and Hawk, its also something I felt long ago for someone.

((You guys can have Aki or Faolan gesture Elizabeth to come over when your done talking or.. well kissing. I just don't want to interrupt.. I might ruin something))

---Tigerlily---

My mother reacted quickly and surveyed Faolan's condition though I began to feel the aftermath of my baton beating; my back started getting stiff and it was hurting me but I ignored it thinking that maybe it would subside in a bit. Returning my focus on the situation at hand and I watched my mother check Faolan's pulse than his eye than his breathing and finally his chest area, I didn't know why she checked his chest area but I know not to question my mother's tactics and all the while my back was getting worst and it wasn't helping that it was raining heavily.

Once my mother was done checking Faolan, she'd anounced "Faolan's heart beat is steady but his breathing is abnormal. The reason that his breathing is abnormal is because he has two broken ribs in his lower left rib cage" than she turned to Aki and soon Aki carried Faolan to a nearby tree to shelter him from rain. The hybrids that crowded around Faolan dispersed and hurried to do some make-shift shelters from any materials they managed to gather up.

My fur was damp from the rain water crashing against my skin and from the looks of it this rain storm is getting worst by the minute, I turned my head to face Hawk "Hawk, lets get out of this rain. I need to lay down, my back is getting stiff and its starting to hurt me" I told him.

Aki

“I am glad I am back as well,” Faolan replied.

He reached up with his right arm to me and gently and slowly pulled me closer. I didn’t resist one bit as he softly touched my forehead with his muzzle. It was a kiss, I realized with a blush. My senses tingled from the realization and some feeling I hadn’t felt in a long while rose within me.

“I'll be fine now that I am with you all,” Faolan said as he let go.

“Yeah, everything should be fine,” I sat back next to him and gave a faint smile. My tears had stopped flowing and dried at least partially. But something still seemed to be bothering the dragon hybrid.

As much as I wanted to just stay by him during recovery, there were other things that needed to be done, including making sure the camp was a safe place so this morning’s situation wouldn’t repeat. And so I decided to allow him to have his space and time for recovery. I glanced at Elizabeth before looking back at Faolan. “I’ll scout out the area again. Let the doc help you now. I’ll be nearby.”

Hawk

“Thanks.” Lucy said.

I didn’t give any response, having enough to hold on to. After Elizabeth gave a report of Faolan’s status, the crowd dispersed.

“Hawk, let’s get out of this rain. I need to lay down, my back is getting stiff and it’s starting to hurt me,” Tigerlily said.

“Right, let’s go,” I said and led her to cover from the rain under a nearby tree. The ground wasn’t as damp as it was in the open. Looking up, I saw the tree had many broad branches and leaves to block the rain. Looks great. Now, I’ll have to set up some sort of tent. If there’s some branches around, I can stack them into one…

I helped Tigerlily lie down on the ground and placed the load I had taken from Lucy on the ground next to her and stretched for a moment. My back made a cracking sound, relieving itself of previous pressure.

“You all good?” I asked Tigerlily.

It took a long couple of minutes for Xenophon to make his decision. A bit anxious, I waited, bouncing a bit on my feet while thinking back to that deer I rescued long ago...

"Okay.. Take the long way around.. Are you sure this is okay?" I smiled again, glad that Xenophon decided to trust me on this.

"Positive. I doubt anyone will notice us in the fray of building, especially if we stick near the tree line and go around. And, on the off chance someone does see us, they're all pretty friendly and I don't think they'll question our intentions." While I spoke/thought, I surveyed the area, watching as the hybrids moved around the campsight. I was waiting for an opening.

"Alright, follow me." I told Xenophon, edging forward a bit before turning right and going around the perimeter of the camp, careful to stay within the trees.

Like I had believed, none of the hybrids took notice of us. They were all scrambling to try and get enough shelter for everyone from the rain. I led the matis hybrid around until we were just a short walk forward from the tent.

"Alright, we'll have to leave the trees for a bit at this point." I relayed to Xenophon, gesturing to the tent a few feet away.

"None of the hybrids are close by, so just let me know when you're ready." I told him, not wanting to rush him into the structure. That walk by itself might've been scary, and I figured the hybrid might like a few minutes to collect himself before we dashed.

The Hunter/Soldier

They arrived at the new hybrid facility and once the vans came to a stop The Soldier hopped off of the back of the van and looked over the facility it was in part of this facility that he had been frozen for the short he had been. A human looking at a tablet began walking towards him with an obedience collar, obviously not paying attention to which hybrid she was walking towards. She stopped in front of The Soldier, looked up and immediately went the other direction, realizing the mistake she made and not wanting to deal with the repercussions.

The Soldier's organic programming told him that he needed to report to Cora -he had not been updated on who the new person was in command of this complex-. A man he did not recognize walked up to him and spoke what felt were random words.

"Foxtrot, magnum, Japan, 2020, UN, 50-18-91" The man said and the Soldier froze. Unknown to anyone else these seemingly random words were a backdoor into the "programming" that was in the Soldier.

The original code to his programing was made of three parts, each part was made of five words/numbers and was spoken by a specific person. Cora happened to be one of these people. Unfortunately a male scientists who was one of these three people had a cold one day during tests to change the Soldier from assassin/recon to front line and accidentally said a single word wrong. The response from the Soldiers program was to eliminate anyone who attempted to access his programing and did incorrectly (not the specific person or said incorrectly) and before he could be stopped the Soldier had kil,l one of the three people that could reprogram him and thus made him permanently an assassin/recon soldier. This was one of the few problems with the Soldier but then he was just the prototype.

Thankfully for the scientist they had programmed the Soldier so that you could give commands and get mission reports with only a third of the code (or with the unknown backdoor)

"Report: death of Jack Harkness" the man said, inputting a command.

"Reporting:

Command: follow Harkness, bring rebel leader

action: follow

observation: went a short distance from vans and out of sight of other hunters

action: place rebel leader before Harkness and Soldier

Command: ki,ll rebel leader

input: given gun by Harkness

Observation: Rebel body language

Error! Domain:unknown

Error! Domain:unknown

Action: shot Harkness

Error! Domain:unknown

Action: free rebel leader and remove weapons from body

Error! Domain:unknown

Action: Return to convoy"

The man listened to the report and smiled, the ever so precious Soldier had done something against his programming.Something about the rebel leader triggered those errors, odd.

"Rewrite report: Death of Jack Harkness, password: Beta, Theta, 5"

"Password accepted" the Soldier said.

"start rewrite

Command: follow Harkness, bring rebel leader

action: follow

observation: went a short distance from vans and out of sight of other hunters

action: place rebel leader before Harkness and Soldier

Command: stand at ready

Observation: Harkness frees rebel leader, pulls out flash drive and explains that it is info on the Soldier Project

Error! Domain: Security Breach

Protocol: eliminate security breach

Action: disarm Harkness,

input: Harkness resists

Observation: rebel leader flees

Action: shot Harkness, destroyed flash drive

Action: Return to convoy

end rewrite"

The scientists said, smiling at the Soldier, that should do it, oh wait, one last thing. "Delete current memory, save report rewrite: time range: 5 minutes... Thank you Soldier, Foxtrot, magnum, Japan, 2020, UN, 50-18-91"

And with saying the password the Soldier was back to reality and the scientist vanished into the crowd, he won't consciously remember what actually happened but but his subconscious will, but that does not matter for Cora will only be able to access the rewrite and The Soldier will report it like it was what happened. He shook his head and started towards the complex. His arm band connected with the place and directed him towards his desired location, Cora's office.

The Soldier knocked on the door, awaiting permission to enter.

It was mere minutes after I had sent Amelia away that a loud knock sounded upon the door. I paused again in my work, wondering who I would get to yell at now. Whoever it was had interrupted the planning of a new scheme involving acid injected into my job stealer's heart, which would then be pumped through his body and kill him from the inside out. Of course, I would frame one of the nurses... But I needed a valid reason for him to get the injection.

"Come in." I ordered irritably, fiddling with my poison-laced blade disguised as a pen.

I could see Aki's blush as she sat next to me with a faint smile, "good, keep them safe. I will and I know" I said to her smiling as much as a dragon hybrid could (which really is not that much), "be safe, miss nothing" I said to Aki before I gestured to Elizabeth to come over.

The Soldier

He heard Cora give him permission to enter and opened the door. The Soldier had to stoop to get through the door that was not meant for a nearly seven foot dragon hybrid. The scientists had actually told him that he might never stop growing due to his snake dna and due to his dragon dna he might -if he was lucky- hit a minimum of 200 years of age -the max age guess was around 300-.

The Soldier had to more or less hunch a little in Cora's human built/designed for office. "Soldier 01, password?" he asked. He knew he was infront of the -former- lead of the soldier project but his programming required a password before he could report to her. ((just give five random words/numbers))

He watched nervously as Lucy looked around, then finally said "Okay, follow me." and she crept off. Xenophon made his way after her on all six legs, shaking as he stepped to know where he was going and so he wouldn't accidentally hit something. He felt nervous, sneaking around a foreign camp as if it were the enemy, but at the same time he wasn't quite sure strutting out there and asserting rights to a tent was a good idea either. He weaved through shrubbery, carefully avoiding snappable twigs and keeping up his camouflage. On their way around he noticed a few of the hybrids in more detail now- some looking like lizards, some like wolves, some like birds, it was fascinating how different they were. He wondered what Lucy was amongst these many hybrids.

She soon stopped near the edge of thicker shrubbery and looked around. Lucy then turned to him and informed him they'd have to clear the rest of the way in the open, asking if he was ready. Xenophon rolled his shoulders, twitching his antenna and giving a quick glance at the hybrids. After a few seconds of sitting still and watching, he quickly turned his head to Lucy and nodded. "Yes, go now." He thought to her. He prepared for the short dash, shaking to get a good overall view of the placement of the shelter. There was an unspoken problem here, though. He was little long, and Xenophon wasn't quite sure if he'd fit entirely in there. But he had to try, after all

"Glass, chime, plane, river, 1492." I answered to The Soldier's demand for a password, boredly looking through more papers as I waited for the report on the retrieval mission. I had already gotten what I wanted out of it, so I didn't really care much about the rest.

"Yes, go now." Xenophon relayed. I nodded and quickly emerged from the forest, briskly walking in front of Xenophon to help with his camouflage ability against the backround of trees- just in case we were seen.

As I reached the tent, I thought about how odd the situation was. Sneaking around a camp filled with my allies, offering protection to a hybrid I had just met... I hadn't exactly thought this through, had I? What about my earlier deal? If I hurt another hybrid in this group to protect Xenophon, the deal would be broken. I winced at the thought, a brief memory of an iron sword slicing into my side flashing through my head. I absentmindedly rubbed the old scar hidden by my shirt as I ducked into the tent. It was surprisingly spacious, despite it's outward appearance.

"It's a little dark in here." I muttered out loud, managing to summon a tiny ball of light and suspend it high in the air, out of danger of accidentally being bumped into. While I was at, I created two thick blankets- one dark green and the other a brilliant blue.

"Better." I thought to myself, keeping the word away from Xenophon's mind to avoid confusion.

Lucy made her move, walking briskly over to the loose shelter of leaves and twigs and then slipping inside. Xenophon hurried after her, ducking close to the ground and slipping himself in. Once inside he curled himself up as much as possible, trying to avoid taking up extra room unnecessarily. It was surprisingly cozy inside, not too big but big enough to house the two hybrids. An odd orb of light flittered by the top of the shelter, and two blankets lay on the ground. He glanced around the loose shelter, careful not to move his head too quickly incase the crest on his head got caught on something. The mantis hybrid looked down at Lucy, giving a nod. "Cozy." He thought to her. Rain faintly pittered against the structure, although it was fairly dry inside.

He began to observe his environment more carefully. The orb of light caught his eye first. Out of curiosity, he waved an antenna through it, which caused a very confusing blip to be registered. He shivered, not quite knowing what to make of that. Next he leaned down, prodding the green blanket with his foreleg. It felt thick, and of a medium weight. He'd seen campers roll themselves up in these like cocoons. Gingerly, Xenophon pulled it to cover up a bit of him, kneading it with his forelegs in interest. "Where did you get these things?" He thought to her, looking up.

"Right, let’s go,” Hawk said then led me to cover from the rain under a nearby tree. Walking over to that tree wasn't the greatest journey to make with my back being stiff, walking was terrible every step I took was painful.. I gritted, holding the pain in without showing any signs of it. Once coming under the tree, I didn't feel any drops of rain yet which is good.. this is better than being out in the open getting all soaked; I slowly took off the tranquilizer gun from my back and placed it against the tree trunk than Hawk helped me lie down.

The ground was a bit wet but its not ba.d; I did felt quite better now that I was laying down.. it relieved some strain from my back which is awesome because the pain I was feeling was just rotten. I glanced over at Hawk from the ground and watched as he placed the stuff that he had taken from Lucy on the ground next to me than stretched; my ears flicked when I heard a cracking sound come from him.

"You all good?” He asked me after he stretched. "Yeah, I'm fine. By the way thanks for your help, Hawk" I replied, smiling slightly.

Pondering on my own thoughts, I stood under the tree hearding the sounds of the rain crash against the forest floor and the tree leaves above moving along with the stormy winds; took a deep breathe in and I felt relaxed. I looked around to find my daughter laying down on the ground under a tree not to far from my sight of view, Hawk was there as well though something didn't feel right to me.. why is my daughter laying down? Is something wrong? I know my daughter, its unlike her to just lay down and not lean a helping hand to the other hybrids rushing to make shelter.. uh.. I'll ask her if she's feeling alright once I'm done with Faolan.. oh and speaking of Faolan I wonder if their done.

I switched my attention back to Faolan and Aki and I noticed Faolan gesturing me to come over. I walked over to Faolan with med bag at hand "Glad to see you awake Faolan" I said warmly then I bend down next him and placed my med bag down near to me "Ok first things first. I want to take care of those two broken ribs thats in the left lower rib cage before it gets any worst than it is now," I informed Faolan about what I wanted to get done first than continued "But before I do anything, I wanted to ask you now that your awake. How's your breathing? Are you feeling any pain when you breathe and if so how would you rate your pain?" I asked Faolan these question so I could fully understand the situation at hand and fix the problem without any mistakes.

Scytha had been standing under a tree eating a quail. She saw a flash of purple on the edge of her vision and turned her head to see the magic hybrid Lucy dashing over to one of the shelters, surprisingly the mantis hybrid she had seen eating the deer was with her. Scytha finished the quail, wiped off the feathers that were stuck to her mouth and headed over to the shelter they had both gone into. She walked up to the shelter and looked inside. There was a small glowing orb hovering near the ceiling of the shelter, most likely caused by Lucy's magic. There were also two blankets on the ground,Scytha wondered if Lucy had produced those too. Scytha just silently stared at the two hybrids.

Before Lucy could answer his questions, however, something stirred the entrance of the tent. Xenophon turned to see what it was, only to be met face-to-face with a grass green praying mantis staring him right in the face. He froze, questioning reality for a minute or so in disbelief, waving his antenna, hoping this was a hallucination caused by stress, nothing more. However, it got to the point ge couldn't deny it. It had a scent, it had its own temperature, he could even hear the rain pittering against its body as half of it stood outside. It was very much real, and it was very much looking straight at him right now.

A wave of emotions washed over him in a tsunami of fear. Denial, panic, betrayal. The mantis hybrid reared up as much as he could, shaking violently and buzzing his wings. "This was a trap this was a trap this was a trap this was a TRAP" His head was full of panicked thoughts, horrible memories of those he thought he knew betraying him and almost getting killed by those he once loved. "She's come for me.. no no no no nonono.." Xenophon flexed his scythes up at the mantis hybrid, hissing lowly and continuing to twitch his wings. He felt trapped, as these once a few seconds ago cozy and inviting walls now felt like they were closing in on him and choking him to death. His sense of foreboding felt like it came true.

"I shouldn'tve trusted her.. I shouldn'tve trusted anyone.. This was a trap and I KNEW IT" He cursed himself for getting caught up in this. No doubt he'd be killed.. maybe not here but soon.. To think she'd use outsiders to find him..

"Or maybe she didn't.." The small thought flickered in his mind. He ignored it in his panic, more focused on other things as he stared down the mantis hybrid, sickles raised as he desperately hoped he could scare her off.

Xenophon seemed pretty comfortable in the tent, and even took a shine to one of the blankets I had. He inquired about where I had gotten the blankets, as well as the glowing orb of light. I shifted a bit, slightly nervous. I disn't want to frighten him with the knowledge of magic, especially since he'd just settled in. Maybe I could... Smudge the truth. A sort of half truth that made magic sound less vast and overwhelming.

Just when I was about to answer, however, another green mantis hybrid suddenly poked her head into the tent, silently staring at us in what felt like a threatening manner.

In a flash, Xenophon was in a frenzy. I felt waves of fear, panic, anger, hurt, and betrayal flooding through my mind. I doubled over and hugged my stomach, afraid I would be sick with the enormous amount of it. Flashes of color blurred reality- greens, browns, and greys. The sharp image of a female mantis linked to the fear, attached to another image of younger mantises. I couldn't breath, couldn't think, and I felt like I was dying.

"It's okay! It's okay!" I shouted, but it was lost in the mayhem of negativity.

I could hear hissing, and I was so deep in Xenophon's mind at this point that I could see through his eyes and feel his wings moving as if they were my own. His scythes were raised towards the stranger, and he wanted nothing more than to run away from her. I managed to grit my own teeth, and do something as a last resort to return to my own mind.

I broke the wall.

My own memories crowded in, images I had buried deep within me flooding forth to join Xenophon's. A tank filled with water, battling a vicious viperfish hybrid, our blood mingling with the water around us as we fought. My brother being ripped away from me at the very beginning, my shouts and cries falling on the deaf ears of the scientists as they inserted Flying Fish DNA into me. Being forced to break my own deals as they tested my magic's limits, with various damage done by my own claws scaring me as punishment.

"I'm sorry." I apologized to Xenophon about the memories, using them as an anchor to bring me back.

I stood, shaking slightly, and faced the unknown mantis hybrid. I stood between her and Xenophon, unfurling my glass-like wings and slightly lowering my horns to look more threatening. I needed her to leave, and I needed to to leave NOW.

"Sorry, but I'm going to have to ask you to leave." I spoke in a low, dangerous tone. I couldn't afford to have a polite conversation at this point, Xenophon was too scared to understand she wasn't an enemy.

"Yeah, I'm fine. By the way thanks for your help, Hawk" Tigerlily replied, smiling slightly.

“No problem,” I grinned back. “It’s what friends do.”

I looked around camp. Most others were already at it, building shelter out of the material they had. If only a tent was one of the convenient items Lucy brought back, I thought, scanning the pile for the impossible object.

As I thought, most were just techy items and armory, what would’ve been expected from a warzone.

“Rest here,” I told the other hybrid. “I’ll get a tent made.”

Seeing a moderate size saw out of the piles, I went over and picked it up. I did not want to know why there would be one. Maybe the humans are crazy enough to trust a hybrid with a saw like they did me with a bow, but I decided it shouldn’t be pondered on. ((plot convenience lol. Sorry, I had to make an absurd item be there))

I examined the blade and saw it was relatively sharp and well taken care of. Perhaps the owner of this actually loved it. Placing the saw back down, I then searched for sturdy branches for a makeshift wooden tent.

More hybrids boarded the van, or were forced in. I kept my eyes down on my shackles, patiently waiting for the trip to get going. At last, all the said hybrids, the van got moving. The trip was a bumpy one. I had nearly fell asleep from boredom when the van suddenly stopped.

I jolted awake as the door opened and the hybrids not detained moved out. I hobbled as I tried to escape to freedom from the van, only succeeding in falling over another hybrid rushing to get out.

The hybrid scorned at me and pushed me backwards. Stuck, an armed human had to drag me out and towards who knows where.

I glanced around to see it was a base no where near the previous camp. Maybe I shouldn't have gone along.

Xenophon ~ Ghost Mantis with a pinch of Budwing Mantis

♪ Xenophon ♪

Amidst his panic, he briefly heard Lucy's urging for him to calm down, but he was in such a frenzy he didn't hear them. He was going for it, about to strike at the opposing mantis hybrid, when suddenly a wave of memories washed over him. Barely able to think, or to breath, Xenophon crumpled to the floor. He shook violently and his head twitched in various directions as the memories forced their way into his consciousness. He could feel as Lucy had felt when she was living these situations, the feeling of being trapped, being savagely ripped into by a fight started against her will, the horrible feeling of a loved one being stolen from her, it all overwhelmed him. His head throbbed from the massive discharge of information, but just as it seemed at its worst, it started to subside.

As the memories cleared his vision started to as well. He saw Lucy standing in front of him, pointing her horns at the mantis hybrid, who silently slipped away. Xenophon stared at the ground, trying to recover from what just happened. With his mind clearing, he realized Lucy was the one that drove the mantis off. He also realized what terrible things she'd also been through. "She wasn't setting me up.. She just wanted to help me.." He looked up at her as he crouched on the ground, still shaking but not as quickly as he had been.

"I am.. so sorry.." Was all he could manage. He'd let his fear betray him, again. The hybrid shivered slightly, his legs curled underneath him. "I am so sorry.. you have been through that.." The thoughts of the Dome, the scientists, the disgusting tank of water and the testing still were fresh in his mind. Now he knew why she was running. Xenophon stared down at the ground, ready to leave after the trouble he caused. "I will not blame you for screaming at me now.." He thought to her.

Baske and Scytha.

~Baske~

Ryu called to her, asking what she was doing there. Ryu was lead into the white building. Baske was also lead into the building. She could see the dragon hybrid in front of her,but then the human directed her down an adjoining hallway and she lost sight of Ryu "Hey! Wait! Ryu!" She called and the human told her to shut up. She was lead down blindly white hallways until they arrived at a thick metal door. The human opened the door with a keycard looking thing and lead her through the doorway to a long hall with many metal doors on either side. The human uncuffed her hands before shoving her through one of the doors and locking the door. Baske looked around and saw that she was in a small cell with a rickety bed in one corner and a sink in the other. The door had a small glass window that Baske looked through, she could see a few other hybrids looking at her through their little windows. Baske sat down on the bed. "They better bring me some food soon" she mumbled. "I wonder if they have bamboo?"

(And so we leave Baske sitting inside a little cell daydreaming about bamboo)

((The cell Baske is in is similar to the room that James is in just smaller and with a lot less stuff in it))

~Scytha~

Scytha was still standing about five meters from the shelter. 'I wonder why the other mantis hybrid almost attacked me and why Lucy doubled over like that'.  Scytha assumed that the mantis hybrids reaction was instinctual, since Praying Mantises usually didn't get along well, but why Lucy had doubled over and why the other mantis had collapsed right before Scytha had left was something she could not answer... magic perhaps? Scytha could not see into the shelter from her position nor could she hear any noise from inside it,but she stood there calmly, wondering if someone would come out.

Aki

“good, keep them safe. I will and I know,” Faolan replied, “be safe, miss nothing.”

“See you soon,” I nodded and stood up, dusting my clothes of some droplets of water which had made its way onto me.

The rain had drained some of my energy, and definitely all of my fire. With the heavier downpour than before, my wings were only go to slow me down. That said, I had to travel on foot.

I jogged away from the riverbank and deeper into the woods. The rain fell into a steady drumming around me and my footsteps were just soft impacts with the ground. I fell into rhythm with the rain and scanned a circumference around about a 100 meter radius from the camp across the woods.

When I arrived at the beach, I came to a stop. There really wasn’t much to scout unless I wished to look down both directions of the beach.

Besides, the waves were harsh and I was in no condition to get any wetter than I already was. I spread and closed my wings subconsciously with that thought. The white feathered wings definitely proved to be too damp to carry me through the sky. I walked along the treeline to finish up the border scout when I saw a figure surface above the water on the shore for a moment.

I tensed and watched the area. I hadn’t bumped into any foreign life force besides stray animals or escapees gathering items for shelter. Perhaps a spy from the water? Those hunters are sooooo clever. I thought. If only sarcasm helped in a situation like the escapees’.

The body showed itself again as waves fell back. I took the chance to examine it. It was in fact… a hybrid!

Wait, it’s limp, I realized. The body was washed up on the shore, a glint of iridescence gleaming momentarily at my eyes. Waves crashed down again and covered it before I could see more.

Hesitantly, I stepped forward to get a better view as the waves withdrew into the water again. This time, I jotted down noticeable features of the body.

The hybrid was webbed and appeared to be part marine animal. As I ventured closer, I saw the hybrid had silverish white hair. Then the waves covered his body again. I walked closer, moving faster across the beach.

When the waves fell back, I widened my eyes as an old memory surfaced. Can it be?

~Memory state~

(I swear I wrote this scene before in Caged somewhere. But I looked for an hour or two straight and couldn’t find it. Please tell me I’m not hallucinating. Anyone remember me posting about Aki and Soraka going to the beach? I can remember some parts of the writing clearly, so I don’t know why I can’t find it. Anyway here goes the ending of that scene.)

When I got out of the car, I could see the beach clearly right before me. The ocean beyond glimmered like many blue gems clustered together, expanding from one horizon to another. It truly was amazing for something right after a storm.

“See? I told you it was worth coming here to take a look,” my sister said from beside me. “You ought to thank Ichijou-kun for taking us on a drive.”

I turned to Ichijou, a boy several years older than the two of us. “Thank you Ichijou-kun!”

“No problem,” he waved. “You guys ought to play before the sun sets.”

“Alright!” I said, completely forgotten of my previous mood.

Soraka grinned and we rushed off to play in the sand.

The day passed by quickly and soon it was well into the afternoon. We were lucky to have the whole beach to ourselves since the place had been closed in case of dangers after the storm. Soraka and I were about to leave when I spotted something of moderate size wash up onto the shore.

Turning back to see what it was, I widened my eyes. It was a human boy!

“Nee-chan! Come back!” I called after Soraka who had already been heading up to Ichijou.

She stopped in her tracks and turned. “Aki, what’s wrong?”

“A boy just washed up on shore,” I informed her. “I think he’s unconscious!”

Soraka widened her eyes as well and followed my finger point to the washed up figure.

She glanced back at me, “C’mon let’s go check him out.”

She skidded down the slope of the beach and pushed off to glide over to the body. I ran after her and stopped by the body. Sure enough, it was an unconscious boy around Soraka’s age. He had silver-white hair and pale skin. His locks of hair were in a tangle and his clothes ripped at spots. There were several cuts and bruises all over his body.

Did he get lost during the storm? I wondered.

Soraka snapped me out of my thoughts. “Tell Ichijou to keep an eye out for other humans.” She gently picked up the unconscious boy and heaved him away from the waves and uphill. “We need to take care of him until he wakes up,” she said, concerned. “What if he came to the beach with a family as well? They would be looking all over for him. So, we can’t leave yet.”

There was resolve in her eyes. I only nodded affirmatively and did as I was told.

When I came back down, Soraka was pressing down on the boy’s chest and pumping. When she saw my shadow, she said. “He’s alive, but he took in too much water.”

I watched, amazed as she worked some CPR, something I never considered learning during school due to my disadvantage near water. Soraka took in a large gulp of air and leaned down to do something I did not expect.

Her lips met with the boy’s and she appeared to let out her breath- what I eventually learned to be rescue breaths. She did it a couple of times before lifting her head and checking pulse. Seeing the boy’s breath was next to nonexistent, she returned to delivering compressions to the chest. This time, the boy began sputtering out water and coughing.

I backed up in surprise, spreading my wings to help propel myself backwards. Soraka immediately turned the boy onto his side as he began coughing out more water.

“Nee-chan,” I called, concerned.

My sister flashed me a look to stay silent as the boy groaned. Slowly, he opened one midnight blue eye. Then the other. It was like the ocean embodied in the two irises. They sparkled like the water at night.

Soraka seemed attracted to the same thing, but instead she focused on helping the boy.

“Are you ok?” she asked, helping the boy into a sitting position.

The boy coughed some more as he looked between the two of us. He turned his head back to the ocean and stared into the waves for a moment before turning back and nodding.

“What’s your name? Where were you last when you were with your family?” She asked the boy.

The silver haired only stared back. There was silence in the air as the boy appeared to be thinking of what to say.

The waves crashed and he spoke. “I don’t have one.”

Soraka and I looked at each other. I then asked. “You don’t remember your name? Doesn’t everyone have a name?”

The boy casted his gaze to the ground. “I don’t know…”

Soraka nudged me away and lifted the boy’s head up by the chin to face her. “Well, you do now, Triton.”

She paused to giggle. “We’re going to be your family now.”

Triton stared back at Soraka who let go of his chin. He mouthed his name.

“Yup, Triton meaning like from the sea. Do you like the name?”

Triton smiled feebly and nodded.

“Then it’s settled,” Soraka said. “Let’s go home.”

She held out a hand to Triton which he took. The two of us helped him up to Ichijou who decided to take Triton home with us. With the sun setting behind us, we got into the car and drove home.

~Reality~

I suddenly realized how long I was standing in the rain, lost in thought as the memory had surfaced and left. The hybrid was still unconscious before me. But there was no doubt who he was.

Triton, hang in there, I thought. Immediately, I bent down next to Triton and checked for breathing and pulse like my sister had done those many years back. Sure enough he was breathing.

“Triton?” I breathed into his ear. “Can you hear me?”

Unlike last time, there was no response. I looked up at the sky. Black storm clouds were coming in from the same direction the rain had came from. I was not going to let Triton sleep through a thunderstorm like that. I heaved him up into my arms and carried him back towards camp.

((This took longer than expected - I got to write faster though it don't come out right))

"Hmm, thats actually not too ba.d. Usually, anyone thats has broken ribs will feel pain when inhaling air but you seem to be ok with breathing but of course you can't reach the full lung capacity. There's this injection called Corticosteroid and what this injection does is reduce inflammation and pain, allow for easier breathing and increase upper body mobility another words you'll be able to reach the full lung capacity without any discomfort or pain from your broken ribs and also you'll be able to move around. Would you feel up to getting this injection?" I replied back to Faolan.

“No problem,” Hawk grinned back. “It’s what friends do.” He than began to look around the camp. With Hawk away, I just stared up at the tree, Hawk had picked a good tree to shelter under.. this tree had broad branches and leaves to block the heavy rain falling from the darken clouds above and with these broad branches I'll be able to keep guard later at night. But at least for now I could rest for a bit; with the rain falling as it is our scents are being covered so if there's no scents there's nothing for the hunters to track, this is giving us the upperhand.

My thoughts were interrupted when I felt my muscles tighting; thats when I realized that something much worst was going to come. I turn slightly on my side and using my right hand, I began to massage the tighting muscle areas "Come on" I muttered, putting extra pressure to ease the tension but it was to late. A sudden pain shot up my spine; I arched my back under the painfully muscle contraction.. the muscle spasm hit hard and with no mercy.

I groaned, placing my right arm over my eyes all the while my claws ejected from my left hand and dug into the ground. I had no chose but to ride it out until it was over.

((I hate muscle spasms. That thing is no joke - they hurt. Anyone ever went through muscle spasms before?))

I thought on what Elizebeth said about the shot she was thinking on giving me, last time I was given an injection was when I had been ambushed just before I had been brought to the Dome, "I don't know... if you think it would help me out alot, sure, the only problem I have is, well... I am not fully human so it might not work to its full extent and" I tapped my flexable yet tough scales, "I don't know if you would be able to find a place to inject me if the shot requires a specific place" I told the doctor.

Something about what I fealt when Aki's tears hit me still sat and annoyed me in the back of my head, "is there anything special about phoenix tears?" I asked Elizebeth, she was human so I suspected she knew more about the creatures that made up us hybrids.

"I don't know... if you think it would help me out alot, sure, the only problem I have is, well... I am not fully human so it might not work to its full extent and" Faolan answered, tapping his scales "I don't know if you would be able to find a place to inject me if the shot requires a specific place". I nodded at what he told me; I have to inject the medication near the area of the pain which would have to be on his lower left side.. I knew why he would say that because he is part dragon and what dragons have is tough scales which makes injecting a needle into the skin harder than it looks, but I've been trained to treat hybrids so I think I could bypass his scales.. where there's a will there's a way.

"Your right, it may not work to its full extent but its worth a try and don't worry I think I could bypass your scales I think your scales are softer in your left lower side" I informed him than processed to reach into my med beg and prepare the injection and as I'm doing so Faolan asked me "is there anything special about phoenix tears?".

The first thing I did was rise an eyebrow, phoenix tears? I stopped what I was doing and just stay quiet, thinking "Phoenix tears? Um, well lets see.. Aki is part phoenix if I'm correct, it should be in her medical records. But why do you ask about phoenix tears?" I asked him.

"Alright" I said to what Elizebeth said. I had never really thought about which places my scales were the sofetest, it was possible that the scales around my belly were softer, I shrugged mentally and shifted so that the area that Elizebeth would be injecting what ever it was into was easy to get at.

I looked down at my shorts that I had worn for years. I really only wore them for the praticality of the pockets they had but now that I looked at them I could tell they were falling apart and I would need to find a new pair if I wanted to still have pockets.

Elizebeth was doing something with the neddle as she responded to my question about phoenix tears. She stopped what she was doing and rose an eyebrow to me. "it's just a random curiosity... but when Aki was crying a few of her tears landed on me and they felt like little balls of fire" I replied. To me fire was not scary or painful, thanks to me being part dragon, it just felt hot and at times it actulay felt kind of nice against my scales.
