"fine i'll play with you" shoutmon said chasing harper
singer freaks out "this is how it feels to be flying good to know" singer cried out loud as skullsatamon follows them
Yeah, Underwater bases are h.ard to find though. The water also dampens any signals from being detected from the surface. Surprised the sheild generator is still running perfectly as intended. I thought there would at least be SOME water would be leaking in." Destroyer commented. He added with a hint of genuine sadness, "After that repairing machine is finished and I recover all the assets I can, I need to move my base, I'm not sure how much longer this all will hold together."
(I don't have a siggy, so I guess you don't have to see mine lol)
((Picking up where we left off))
Cawley Grounds has exclaimed his question to Virgil about which ideas he had for he presumes the portal machine. He then told him coldly, "Dude, I was a foot soldier, not a scientist!" Realizing that the coffee maker was over-reacting, his tone switch from rant-worthy irritation to awkwardness. He asked if it was 42 as what One-One guessed earlier.
"42's a definitive integer," Virgil says in a slightly tired tone. "It wouldn't make any sense if that was the real answer."
"It could be the answer. How could it not?" One-One proclaimed optimistically. ((<-I can't believe how perfectly that reference was excecuted from build-up to end. Bonus points if you get it))
"Fine. You want 42? Here I'll try it," Virgil says. He enters the number 42 in the portal machine. What happened was there was an unchanged system. The number was brought back to him at a different font and bright green on the command prompt. The portal was still green with the black void in the middle sucking that green in from the sides.
"Uhm... something's not right," Virgil notes. He enters different coordinates and it's all the same thing. Sometimes the numbers would change themselves. After a few tries, Virgil says, "Crap! I think I broke the machine."
∞ Recon Dalek ∞
~'So you ARE up to something.'~ is what the reconnaissance dalek concluded from all of that.
Rusty made a point of sending them his mental 'Tch' of annoyance, then thought ~'This is what I am talking about, Harper.'~
In truth, the recon dalek was thinking on some if these things in secret- hiding this from Harper.
§ Cobra Commander §
Cobra Commander gave an 'HAH!, before rasping to Destroyer "I've had to move plenty of compromisssed sssecret basesss. It getss eassier the more you do it. It isss alwayss a shame, but you get over it. Enjoy it while you ssstill can." in a manner that suggested he was actually a little glad to have someone to talk about this with. Which, he was.
Shadow ignored the two, eyeing the silver waterfall as it cascaded through the water, then through the air-bubble that surrounded the cave entrance they were flying in. It WAS rather pretty. She was saddened to think this place was used as an evil lair, though.
¤ Cawley Grounds ¤
"Yuh-oh. That's no good. What does a broken portal machine mean, exactly? Is there going to be MORE creepy things happening now?" Cawley questioned, taking a few steps backwards.
Virgil lost his focus and directed it towards Cawley and the activity of the machine itself. He began with a light stutter, "I-I mean.. as.. far as I know, it can possibly— AH!" Virgil shifted focus back to the command prompt and found a new infinity character replacing the coordinate numbers. "It changed," he announced. "I-i-it's not a number, it's the infinity symbol! The machine.. isn't supposed to have this number."
At the same time the number changed, One-One stepped to the side out of the way of the portal. The wall in the back of the room where the machine is facing has just faded out of existence and somehow turned into a train station right through the middle of the Aperture Science labs. In a second, a train leaves from the portal and onto the train track that magically appeared.
Virgil was speechless from the sight of it. At least half of what he sees in the general area of Aperture has vanished in a second. That is definitely something GLaDOS would notice (which surprisingly she won't notice a thing. the Train is supernatural and therefor it decides who can see it and who cannot. The people around the portal can see it though). The train stopped in front of the trio and opened it's door, revealing but a dark interior.
Firestorm finally arrived at the scene where everything was happened. He almost immediately collasped though, so he probably wasn't going to be too much help anytime soon.
"Hmmm." Destroyer said thoughtfully. He stared at the waterfall for a little bit longer in silence, and then asked, "Are you ready to see the rest of the base?"
The crows were in a frenzy, as they always were when they finished a job for the Japan branch of the Vatican. They'd just helped Rin Okamura take down a particularly nasty Ghoul that had inhabited the dead body of a wolf and was terrifying people in a small village outside Tokyo. They'd borrowed Yukio's Anywhere Key to get there.
"OK, OK, knock it off Xerxes, quit being such a brat. And Pandora, thanks for alerting me to that Ghoul's minion back there. Orion, scout ahead and let me know if there are any more small fry in the area we can take down for fun." Jessa told three of her crows, the first being (Xerxes) jet black with a white patch on his chest from leusism that he inherited from one of his parents. Pandora was a deep black that looked blue in the right light, her lead crow, a big female named Diana, was jet black with a deeper black beak, her mate Loki and their daughter Tyra were both onyx black birds with oil like shimmers of color on their feathers, sort of like the gemstone labradorite. And finally, there was Aquila. Despite her lame leg, she was a sweetheart when she warmed up to you. She cawed happily from her perch on Merle's shoulder as Rin laughed, giving her a piece of sourdough with chia, nuts and bird seed mixed in - a recipe he made for the birds after extensive research.
"I'm gonna head back. You've got your copy of the Anywhere Key right?" Rin asked Merle, glancing over his shoulder at the girl so his pointed ear was visible to her.
"Yeah, I'll catch up later. I've got plans with some friends of mine." Merle confirmed, showing him the simple gold key she wore on a chain around her neck so she wouldn't lose it.
"Alright, see you later." Rin replied, opening a random door with the key and stepping through, the True Cross Academy on the other side as it closed.
(maybe I could use the anywhere key to meet up with someone?)
§ Cobra Commander §
Cobra Commander thought on Destroyer's question for a moment, stared at the waterfall for another few, then finally replied "Yess, I'd sssay that I am."
∞ Recon Dalek ∞
The reconnaissance dalek replied ~'I do not see why you care. You do not have to do anything in order to please me. I will do all of the work myself.'~
Rusty, meanwhile, told Harper ~'I love you too. Which is why I do not want you to go through with this. This is not any sort of doubt in your abilities. It is simply the wise move to make.'~
¤ Cawley Grounds ¤
Cawley gave a simulated gasp (since he didn't have lungs.. he was a coffee maker after all.) and stared awe-struck at the train station in front of them. Instantly it clicked, even in HIS mind.
"T--train! TRAIN! ONE-ONE KEPT TALKING ABOUT TRAINS! This is nuts!!" Cawley exclaimed.
GLOOmer turned a sort of faint orange, then a purple color. The blob of goo sat in the middle of the coffee pot Cawley held and didn't seem quite as keen on escaping it right this second.
Destroyer nodded before taking off again back toward the main cavern. He indicated toward the othe metal thing that the crane was exacavating and said, "That is project #19. One of the things I need to move out and finish." He indicated the large damaged spacecraft and told them, "And that over there is the 'Ambition' Stole it quite a while back. Had a different name at first, but I decided to change it."
"This is unbelievable," Virgil says, searching through Aperture's data. Everything from the cameras in the places replaced by a train station seems to be perfectly functional without any effect. He continued, "It's like nothing is here!"
"Home," One-One murmured without a movement. Virgil looked at the little robot standing in front of the train door. He's been given the thought that One-One himself couldn't go in by himself. If this is the train that takes him to his world, he'll need an escort to bring him to his real home. He has now realized that he can't go anywhere.
"Well, I guess this is where you have to go. We'll have to part ways."
"Do you need a hug?" One-One asked.
Virgil makes a swift reply, "Oh nonono, I don't need.. I know this is your ride, but I'm going to need somebody to escort. I'll keep the portal opened in case you'll need to return. I cannot come with you."

§ Cobra Commander §
Shadow lingered a moment longer to observe the silverfall one last time, then followed after Destroyer.
Cobra Commander eyed the ship when Destroyer pointed it out, and the first thing he thought of was to ask "What wasss itss ORIGINAL name?"
¤ Cawley Grounds ¤
Cawley sat there, staring at the open door to the train anxiously. When Elecmon offered to escort One-One in there, Cawley questioned "W-wait. They're just going to walk right on in there? Into that scary empty blackness? Without testing anything first? These people are lunatics."
# Rusty #
Rusty didn't remove the plastic eggs this time, feeling too sickened by this 'deal' at the moment to play along right now.
∞ Recon Dalek ∞
The reconnaissance dalek took the can with much skepticism, but ended up opening it despite this. Expectedly, it wasn't anything actually threatening. Simply a gag. He wasn't a very jumpy person, so it didn't get much out of him other than a brief moment of panic caused by the surprise of it. But that quickly wore off. "How amusing." he stated in a tone that made it evident that he didn't find this amusing at all.
In response to her question afterwards, he stated "Well, yes. You will do the work for me. I will be telling you to do the work for me. I simply mean that you would not need to be.. how you say.. in tune to anything as it goes on. But if you would rather remain aware, then I may permit it- provided you give me your full cooperation."
He tensed when the Dalek Deathgripper started to interfere, and swiftly whipped it with an arm when it got too close. "Cease, you fool! I already have it handled. If you ruin this now, then you will have lost the Starchild. And my tolerance of you. Have I made myself clear?" he growled at it warningly.
∞ Reconnaissance Dalek ∞
The Recon Dalek growled in frustration. When the Deathgripper got within range, he wrapped an arm around one of its tusks and yanked its head to the side harshly. "I.DIOT! It is nearly the appointed time in which we can depart! Have patience, or be exterminated, half-breed abomination!" he spat angrily. If there was one thing he didn't like, it was someone ruining his plans.
Firestorm suddenly leapt forward and slashed at the deathgripper despite his owerwelmimg exuastion, feeling a sudden rush of adrenaline.
---
Destroyer brushed the question aside and said, "Eh, not really important. Can't even recall it off the top of my head. Been referimg to it as the "Ambition" for years now."
∞ Reconnaissance Dalek ∞
The recon dalek growled angrily, hissing at the Dalek Deathgripper "Go back to the ship. Now. That is an order."
They were so close now that he didn't want any sort of loophole ruining this deal. Even though he didn't care if Shoutmon nor Firestorm got hurt, he didn't need Harper having an excuse to turn on them. Granted he already felt like she WOULD turn against them but still. She seemed to so strongly want to stick to the deal that he didn't want to risk messing that up.
§ Cobra Commander §
Cobra Commander gave a 'hmph', then rasped "What a shame. It would've been nice to be able to ssssay whether or not the new name truly WASSS better than the original. But that'ss not really anything important at all right now, now isssn't it. Anything elsse of noteable interesst?"
"it's ok" shoutmon said
skullsatamon kept dodging and chasing them "give it up already you and the traitor won't survive this at all" skullsatamon said
∞ Recon Dalek ∞
The Recon Dalek wasn't sure how he felt about the stomach massages. He was on edge as he wasn't sure whether to expect her to try and rip him off or not, but it did feel rather nice. Eventually he replied "I will not hurt your friends here so long as they do not pose a threat to me."
"Other than project 19, the crane, and the Ambition, no. Anything else notable was crushed under a few hundred tons of rock." Destroyer said with a slight bitter undertone, before telling them, "Anyway, I'll guess I'll show you the interior of Cascade now. Follow me." He angled himself downwards and swooped towards the base door.
Firestorm fired a plasma blast after the deathgripper, but didn't pursue. He then turned he attention toward the recon dalek and growled "Right, I know you made an agreement of sorts with Harper, but you never made an agreement with me. I know Harper has asked me not to interfere, but I refuse to idly sit by and watch you take off with Harper. What do you even want with her anyway?"
"i know" shoutmon said sadly as something tckles shoutmon by accident it was wargreymon and something was on it's next as it was trying to get the the black metal band off
guardiandragmon flew to the roar and strikes at skullsatamon who got pushed back "great now the guardian is here" skullsatamon said before retreating
" i don't know" agumon said
∞ Recon Dalek ∞
The Recon Dalek didn't have time to question why Harper wanted to show him 'friendship' before Firestorm was confronting him. He calmly responded "I wish to use her power for my own means and purposes. I assume you have noticed by now how very powerful she is, yes?"
§ Cobra Commander §
Cobra Commander caught that bitter note in Destroyer's tone, and he couldn't really blame him. He'd felt that exact same way when HIS bases were destroyed. Again, it was nice to see this happening to someone else instead of him. He was very lucky that he had a mask on to hide the fact that he was smirking right now. He wasn't exactly even sure WHY he was smirking yet, but something about this situation amused him.
Shadow meanwhile felt a little bad for Destroyer, though she felt weird for doing so since.. his bad luck meant Firestorm remained free and alive and happy. It nagged her that the two seemed so similar yet so set apart. She wanted to get them to just talk things out, as they both seemed to be in tight situations here. But she didn't know how to do this just yet.
So instead she just silently followed Destroyer as he flew off deeper into the base.
Destroyer entered the base and indicated the large colosseum type room. "This was the central meeting area of Cascade. The twelve doors, six on each side from what you can see from the non collasped section, were for hangers and charging stations for my AI machine companions. As I said though, only half of them survived total annihilation from what I found. One of which is being repaired in the repair bay we started this tour from." He explained.
"Harper, he literally just admitted to wanting to use you just as a tool! Please don't do this. I didn't help protect you and fight by your side all this time just for you to just give yourself up." Firestorm pleaded to Harper, ignoring the recon dalek's question.
Rudy has noticed one of the digimon walked by. Rudy wasn't sure at first, but the digimon gestured him to follow. He bit his lip and followed the digimon. He was leading him to where Harper was. The thing was still on her back, which made him feel uncomfortable and anxious. He looked at Harper, refusing to be the first person to respond.
"Okay... good luck out there. I'll hold the portal... and.. make sure nothing comes wandering in," Virgil exclaimed with a but of a falter. "Sayonara Virgil, miss you already," One-One waved with his back turned away from the open door.
Virgil responded, half-sarcastically, "Yah, yah. Send me a postcard or something."
Once everyone enters the door, a green light emerges from out of the train car and it takes One-One, Elecmon, Cawley, and GLOOmer in a flash of light. The next thing they knew, they were awoken inside a different place. It was bright sunny and a green grassland with a few hills here and there. In the distance there is a village that looks like it is stuck in the late 1910s.
"Wa-ha-ha-ow, that was a doozie," cheered One-One, referring to the flash that consumed them into the new world. The train nor the station was in sight in the new land.
Meanwhile at Aperture, Virgil had seen the flash of green light and just like that, the train disappeared along with the train station as if nothing happened. He looked at the portal and it has inevitably shut down. He thought he could start it back up, but he can no longer punch in the same coordinates. Even when re-entering the right algorithm, it wouldn't work. Virgil stutters anxiously, "Uhh.. th-this isn't good."
((Yes, they will be able to make it back, so no I have not trapped your characters forever. Just to be clear))
Apart from the late 1920's town in sight, it's just an open plane with a small clusters of trees in parts of the terrain. If looked closer, you'll soon realize that the leaves on every tree are made up of currency. As in they are money trees. There is also small creek that leads up to the the town.
Rudy nodded 'yes' to the aformentioned response just before Harper goes introducing Shoutmon to Rudy. "This is your father?" Rudy asked to Harper.
