Complete DPS list for Battle Events
So using the stats from the School of Dragons wiki, I thought it would be interesting to calculate which dragons have the matematically optimal DPS (Damage Per Second). Below is a full list of every dragon (including Titans) that you can use for Battle Events, ranked. (The number is the approximate amount of points of damage the dragon will average every second.)
This list does factor in criticals (both the likelyhood of them and the damage boost they give) as well as fire rate, but it ignores shot limit and long-term recharge speed, as well as range. So it will be way more relevant to people who like to "snipe" the ship from the recharge points rather than fight it traditionally.
You'll notice that many of the best dragons for battles (Scauldron, Prickleboggle, Screaming Death) are towards the lower end of this list - that's because in practise, shot limit and recharge time have a huge impact on how much time you can actually spend damaging the ship. I intentionally didn't factor in these things because they've been pretty well established just by people finding the "best" dragons, as well as the fact that the math is much less obvious to calculate there.
tl;dr - This is basically how much damage a dragon can do per second if it stayed within range of both its target and the spawn point, so it's somewhat hypothetical.

I did a bit of rounding where necessary. If you think there's a mistake (which could be either a miscalculation on my part or an error on the wiki) feel free to point it out, but it seems to line up somewhat logically. I did put it together rather hastily.
Hope someone out there finds this interesting/useful!

that's really cool, and very useful, it's also interesting to see that at the top of the list aren't the most "OP" dragons like Toothless and Light Fury,
it's also interesting to see that even the Gronckle is above the Light Fury (okay, maybe that's only interesting to me since the gronckle is often seen as less cool than the other dragons in most of the canon movies) coughcough I love the Gronckle, give it the recognition it deserves DreamWorks coughcough
I am terrible at math, so I can't even begin to imagine how you calculated all of this, so thank you!
even though battle events are calculated by the number of shots you get off, go by this it makes the ship die.
To calculat the DPS, it's ((1+(CriticalDamageChance/100))*Damage)/Cooldown, from the list you've given, some seem to be correct (Armorwing and Goregutter), others aren't (Titan Goregutter and Titan Deadly Nadder) to name a few - I can add the Damage Per Second to the Wiki if such is indeed useful with the proper results. ^^
I should also point out that all the Stats are directly ripped from the Game's assets and properly calculated.
If your curious, the formula I used was:
Calculate average Damage Per Shot:
((Damage x Critical Chance) + (Damage x 100))/ 100
Factor in fire rate:
Damage Per Shot / Fire Rate
And then it spits out the number, which is helpful. To calculate a more helpful and practical value that accounts for shot limit and such like is much harder, because then you need to compensate for however long the dragon takes to fly back to the spawn point, and... it just gets too messy. XD
What this does tell me, though, is that people who are trying to snipe the ship from afar should really be using Moldruffles. They only have three shots, but do absurd damage.
