Centaurs of a Different Kind ~ Unlimited Spot Roleplay (Attempt 2)
Since the first thread is now unusable due to glitches, I've created a new thread. No, I didn't repost the information because it wouldn't let me copy/paste it, and I was NOT going to rewrite that whole thing. Sorry.
New people are still welcome to join, just please read all the information on this old thread:
Old forms need to stay on the old thread, but new forms should be posted here.
(That includes the forms in the PM)
Spots, Rules, and the Form will be in the DNR post.
Thanks for reading!

As of reading the rules, I, RedWind, have accepted each and every rule and would like to join this rp. Please save a spot for the 'Wild' slot as I think up my form.
Edit: Here is my form
Newbie or Wild: Wild
Animal Type: Basilisk Lizard(yes, the "Jesus Christ Lizard"), the Plumifrons variant.
He's taken the, walking on water, thing a little to far, and his entire body basically almost evolved to look like a Basilisk Lizard.
His head has the frill on the top and on the body. The lizard part of his body has the long back frill ending at the tail and those legs(haha). Markings included. If you touched him, anywhere on his body, you would feel scales upon scales that he does shed. Does in fact flick his tongue, and it is sticky to the touch.
He never shows his face, only wearing a mask like this:
that leads into the frill on his head. His eyes are a shade of blue-green, with the cat-eyed snake pupil.
He's very tall, being around 6'5 from head to his first set of legs(front half of the body), with all his appendages having long, sharp claws, and if he opened his mouth you would see a row of sharp fangs.
Rozol is the cunning, secretive type that will stare someone down to get what he, or someone he cares about wants. He can be outspoken and loud, if need be, if he is challenged. Being a centaur, Rozol is quite stubborn, but keeps it to himself. He can appreciate a good joke and be quite the charmer when he's relaxed(which, depending on the time of day, is not often), but can become the no nonsense not funny person if something goes wrong. He's a people watcher, taking in their likes and dislikes, including their weaknesses.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Because his body is the lizard called "Jesus Christ Lizard" , he can run on water, but cannot swim. With the Cryokinesis, he can make anything turn to ice, so when he runs, if he chooses to, he can create a pathway of ice. But he prefers to attack using those claws and teeth of his with swift, brutal attacks. Uses his long tail to sometimes smash others. However, he does not communicate well with others, and prefers to play dirty.
Cryokinesis, in which he has the ability to summon ice, ice armor, and wings(for running faster), but, he does not play far.
A large, ice blue ball about the size of his head, which drops snowflakes.
If he was to take off his mask, you'd see a shaved head with a design like this, hairstyle of the picture too.
Make sure to inculde...
"no images in your posts!"
Newbie or Wild: Newbie
Animal Type: Wolf
[lower appearance (without the head/neck, of course)]
(neither of these pictures belong to me. all credit goes to the original owners.)
Though Marix at first seems quite calm and quiet, he can be rather fiesty and stubborn at times and is not one to be afraid of getting into a fight, though he knows to back down when he is beaten.
Despite the fact he can be hotheaded and reckless, people will find Marix is actually very intelligent and quite the charmer once they come to know him. Marix respects those in ranks above his own and he is extremely loyal and protective of those he cares about.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Marix is both very strong and swift, a skilled fighter, but is known to get into trouble because of his recklessness. Marix is also very scared of fire and is extremely unsettled if he is around it.
His teleportation only works if he can visually see where he is teleporting to. Marix can't use the power more than a few times in a certain time span before becoming extremely exhausted and he can't teleport other living beings.
Magic Type: Teleportation
The center of Marix's soul flame is a white-blue light with white and blue tendrils swirling together and trailing upwards from it. (I'll go into more detail when we get to it in the rp.)
I ship it XD
I'll be joining this one!
Hey, would it be okay if I made Laci a newbie and Kapil a wild? I think it would work better for me. Sorry for the mind change.
Thanks! And sorry for asking but, how did the wilds get turned into centuars. We're they taken in by scientists as babies and we're just transformed? Did they volunteer? Or were they just forced? Same with the newbies.
I was planning to have Fido have been part of the original group, but he's not going to be that old. He's kind of supposed to have been with the experiment since he was like five or younger, so basically his whole life that he remembers. Is there a way one of the scientists could have made him even before the new group of centaurs were started?
Newbie or Wild: Wild
Animal Type: Hippo
She's usually pretty chill, but is known to react badly if other centaurs invade her personal boundaries or make fun of her for whatever reason. She can be somewhat brutally honest, but she usually means well. She doesn't use her power much, and prefers to stick to her normal skillset.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Her main strength is literally her physical strength. This gal can charge straight through you if provoked, at least, if you stayed still and allowed her to do it. She's not as fast as many centaur, and doesn't have an ounce of stealth in her entire body. Subletely isn't her style, and she is prone to saying whatever she thinks.
Magic Type: No magic.
Without magic, I don't know whether she could summon a soul flame, but here it is.
Can't wait ^^
Age: I don't even know anymore
Newbie or Wild: Newbie
Animal Type: Dog
Appearance: Dog hind legs, a human torso (faun type)
Personality: Very much absorbed the traits of the dog. He's very eager and friendly, and also strongly loyal. He's almost always cheerful.
Strengths and Weaknesses: He got speed boosts from the scientists, so he runs very quickly, but when not moving he has poor balance. Thus, instead of standing still, he's almost constantly pacing. He's not much of a climber. He can also be a little clutzy. Dog legs were never meant to be bipedal. He does have good arm and torso strength and an enhanced sense of smell.
Magic Type: Flight
Soul Flame: Kind of like just a glowing yellow orb?
Edit: Changed Fido's age twice. I was planning to have him be one of the originals but have been really young at the time, but then I saw that the Wild Centaurs are several generations removed from the original experiment. I wanted Fido to have been with the experiment since he was like five. What should I do? Is there a way somebody might have made him on the side in between the experiments?
(This is probably going to be bad XD, I hate the first posts. Oh and if I get too OP or just OP plz tell me I tend to forget what I'm doing at times so if it happenes plz tell me and I'll fix it :))
Namira was currently wondering around the pine wood forest that was not too far form the colony's settlement. The deer centaur was simply walking proudly around the woods. Namira's movements were graceful and perfectly matched her deer like nature. She smiled softly as she closed her eyes and inhed the sweet scent of the rainy forest. The air was wet and the sweet aroma from the pine trees was intoxicating for the back haired centaur. She loved the forest, even as her hoofs walked on the muddy ground. The birds were twittering around her and it was as if the rain from yesterday had brought the life to the woodlands. The plans around her were covered in raindrops and the water that was left on the trees occasionally dripped down on her. The sight was majestic, a black deer cantaur exactly where it belonged. As she moved forward the trees bend their branches to let the woman pass. Her huge white skeletal like antlers passing through the trees without any problem. Namira would often come here to get her head cleared and simply enjoy the day in tranquility. When she reached a little cliff that overlooked the centaur colony
Namira laid down on the soft wet grass and scanned the area. Her bright lilac colored eyes searching for any sight of trouble. She was Pidge flying in the air as she cleared out some of the clouds that hid the sunlight. Everything seemed pretty normal. Nimira sighed and stood up again. She didn't knew why but today she had this strange feeling as if something bad was going to happen or the say was simply not going to be as calm as it seemed right now. She shook away her thoughts blaming her on her overprotective nature and deciding it was just paranoid.
Namira decided it was best to get back to her home. She took a last glance at the landscape before heeding back into the forest, the tress welcoming their mistress's return with a slight caress as they opened the way back to the settlement
Rozol skidded to a halt as he saw Pidge pad into the main part of the main village. He grinned and bowed his head, mask tipping a bit. "Welcome back Pidge. Having fun up there?" he asked, moving his long body around her in a large, half circle movement, tail raised slightly above the ground, near her legs. He flicked his tongue, tasting the scent of watery clouds on her scales. "The hunters and I just returned, and fresh supply of bugs has caught my eye, though, must I really wait for todays meal after all the hard work I've done?" He laughed, lowering his tail to the ground finally and messing with the fallen leaves below his five toed legs.
(First posts are hard for me too, don't worry. I feel like I want to write Rozol as that really social, but moody person that knows everyone)
Sylvan lifted her silver wooden flute to her lips and played a soft tune, she reached out with a dainty hand and called for the small dove. The juvineeile flitted twoards her, then paused. Entranced it landed catiously on her outstretched hand. Syvlan smiled warmly at it.
She turned her head, small white rabbits and other assortments of forest creatues were perched around her glossy white hoves swaying to her song. Robins, small deer, cotten tail rabbits, skunks. The centaur raised her head twoards the clearing sky. From far below she watched teh figure dance in the air. Pidge no doubvt doing her daily chores. She watched as the fugred gracefully fought back some dark thundering clouds. It would be so dreary to have rain spoil a perfect day like this one.
Slyvan turned her unwavering gaze back to her animals. The small dove flew into the air spiraling upward and cooing, ths bough on more of the beautiful white birds. She continued her hyme as the forest creatures now familar with the unicorn gathered closers, ears slert and eyes focused.
Slyvan often spent her days away from the rest of the tribe. She felt more at home with the forest creatures.
'She doesnt like it' Azure observed as peridot trudged forward, shoulders slumped. Azure would admit she did not care for it either. The damp muddy ground at slquleshed its way into her toes. She had picked up her used to be fuzzy white paw daintily and scampered up a tree. And now, there she was. In the middle of the woods, hopping from branch to branch silently following the group from the shadows.
Azure's eyes were flickering to and fro observing everyones posture.
Who likes it? WHo doesnt? How can I get them to like me? Peridot has a booky vibe about her. Maybe she likes books. Hmmm... Is the the kind of person who prefers if I try a more peaceful way of negoiating or fight instead?' Suddenly Azure's mind was on a completely different topic.
'She seemed frightened when she was assigned the leader role. I mean, who wouldnt be scared. I totally would! But she was uncertain, probably wodering if any of us even liked her. I like her!' Azure observed warmly as she bunched up her muscles and sprang to the next branch effortlessly.
Meadowsong - Deer
Peridot said that they would be arriving soon. Meadowsong bounded up besides Peridot. She loved being a saytr, especially a deer satry. It was one of the coolest things she imaged. Since she'd been in an orphanage most of her life, it felt good to be with people that semi cared for her.
She didn't know much of the group yet, just Peridot. As she bounded towards Peridot, she hit someone with one of her antlers. She quickly spun around and apologized to the girl. Then trying not to upset the girl she focused her attention to her surroundings. "So..." She asked Peridot, "what are we supposed to be doing once we get to the colony? Are we supposed to make best friends with them? Or just, play it cool and pretend to make friends with them? Or what if they don't even let us in!"
Laci - Cow
The deer, of the group was over excited. Too excited. So far on the trip, she tripped over Laci, four times. She'd already tried to be helpful, which usually meant that she got them into trouble. And she just ran into her with her antler. It hurt really bad. It was like getting punched in the face but ten times harder. But instead of pure impact, it was getting stabbed with a needle. A needle made from bone. Laci didn't understand how Meadowsong was able to be okay with horns sticking out of her head. But at the same time, it shouldn't have been possible to have horns because Meadowsong was able girl, but Laci didn't say anything about it.
Laci was lost in though as she tripped over a tree root that stuck out of the ground. Her front legs fell onto the ground, leaving them scraped. She quickly regained herself and stood back up. She was still getting used to being a centuar. It felt so different. She wondered if any of the others were bothered of what stood he looked like. She pulled her cloak up a little bit more. She wore the cloak to try to hide her utters more. It felt so weird with them.
Nighthawk - Pegasus
Naka watched the deer from the distance. She couldn't lose this one. The predators of the village needed this. She raised her bow up and knocked her arrow. She quickly pulled by the arrow, trying not to make any noise in the process. The deer, continued nibbling the grass. The deer was preoccupied, perfect. She took aim at the deer and shot. The arrow went right through where the heart was and the deer dropped to the ground. Nighthawk walked over too too he deer and sung it over her shoulder, she knew the deer in her village wouldn't be very happy about too he his, but the predators should be excited. Her herself mostly stuck to berries, but occasionally she would nibble on a small bird or a rat.
After settling the deer on her shoulder, she took off to the sky. Above the clouds the weather was settle. She tried to find safe place to land within the village to drop off the meat but she couldn't find any. She would just have to keep circling.
Kapil - Okapi
Kapil was looking through her garden. She was looking for a special spice she needed to make something for the village. Then she finally found it, rare speckled mushroom. She picked it and headed back into her house. She found a glass jar and put it up in her shelf along with all of the rest of her fancy items she needed. She trotted over to her cauldron and brought it over to her fire and hung it from the hanger. She then filled the pot with water and began putting ingredients in it. When the liquid was setting she walked outside to all small stream that ran through the village. She lowered herself down to it, and began practicing some of her magic, forming little whirlpools or making fountains of water.
((I wasn't quite sure what to put for her magic. She doesn't really seem like an illusionist, but I'm not very good at coming up with powers. Does anybody have any ideas?))
My feet squelched through the mud of yesterday's rain, but I didn't mind. Being wet had never bothered me. At this time of the day, many centaur were out in the forest or up in the sky, but I prefered to stay by the village. Our homes were here, a river was just outside the boundary, what more could I need?
Although I suppose some centaurs have more adventure in them than I do.
I stood at the edge of the village, watching the centaur come and go, and watching as the sun slowly peaked over the clouds.
((idk what to write))
Stometimes I walked and I sometimes slithered if muddy ground allowed me to do that. Out of everyone I was probably the only one unfazed by the wet. Water floated about me in small spheres, I did not know why, water always acted wierdly around me since my transformation.
I had had little choice whether or not I wanted to become what I was now, took one trip to go camping on the coast and I never came home, I had no living close family so I suspected that not many morned my dissapearance that much. I made only one true friend while I was taught what I was and why I was changed, I trusted a few others slightly but she was the only one I trusted fully so far.
Not only did the water not bother me that much the cold didn't either, which was strange seeing how I was all scale and skin with only a leather jacket over my human half and I rarely buttoned the old thing up.
One of the spheres of floating water fell to the ground, they never stayed longer than a half an hour or so. I logged my own thoughts and sights in a small jornal I kept in my coat while Peridot logged our progress ((do the newbies have their own hand screens?)) on one of the screens the scientists gave us. The little book, no matter how bad the weather got, never got wet, even when I left it in the rain, another oddity about water and I.
I watched the deer saytr bounce around and caught the cow Centaur in the head with her antlers, I to knew the pain the the centaur felt, I had learned to always be aware of where the deer saytr was. I also saw the cow centaur trip on a root and fall to the ground. A few things had changed about when I became serpent like, like the fact that I was annoying attracted to shiny things, mostly metal and things of great value, and my sense of trust and friendship thought that was due more to my "apreciated volunteerance" to be apart of the project.
I heard Peridot's warning and nodded, though that didn't change anything. I frankly wanted our mission not really acomplish what the government wanted or for me to "dissapear", I had suspicions about the people who changed me, we were not given a clear answer as to why we were going to go learn from/about these wild centuars and saytrs.
((I hope you don't mind the parts about the water Random))
I think I might do that then. It'll be easier for me to play her.
((IGNORE THIS I POSTED AN UPDATE WITH FIDO'S BACKSTORY BUT I'M NOT SURE ABOUT HIS BACKSTORY ANYMORE))
Mystic skipped along after the group. Hopping over tree roots and pounds of mud. She hopped again and almost lost balance. She forgot that her new legs bend differently then human legs and she still wasn't used to it. Turning back to the group, she spoke. "Do you think they'll accept random centaurs that just magically appeared?"
"Don't know, our captors gaves us a fifty-fifty chance of being accepted or being kille,d" I told the lamb, I had made it known through our training that I was not a centar or in on this by personal choice, that demenur was why I had yet to make many friends.
((thinking of brining back Faolan but as a villiage elder and one of the last remaining that were changed into a centar by the government would that be alright Random))
Marix tugged at the hem of his shirt collar, grimacing slightly at the feeling of the still-faintly damp material rubbing against his neck. The centaur didn't particularly like or dislike water but he had gotten rather tired of it after trudging for three days through the forest while it seemed to continuously rain down on him and the rest of the group. Luckily the downpour had ceased for the time being, though the leftover droplets of water clinging to the leaves at the tops of the trees still dripped down on the group every down and then as they trekked along.
Marix made his way towards the edge of the party, taking a deep breath and inhaling the scent of moist soil and rain. He was still getting used to his lower centaur body, but Marix was able to navigate the twisty and uneven terrain with more ease than he had thought he would, though he had, like some of the others, stumbled over tree roots and fallen branches over the course of the journey.
His keen eyes caught sight of movement towards the front of the pack and he turned his gaze, noticing Peridot had turned around to face the group, informing them that they would soon be arriving to their destination. Almost as soon as the leading centaur had finished her announcement, Meadowsong, a satyr-like centaur, bounded up to Peridot's side. In her rush she accidently smacked her white antlers across the face of another group member.
Marix winced at the sight, knowing it must have hurt the cow centaur who was unfortunate enough to be the one to receive the hit to the face. The deer centaur quickly apologized to her antlers' victim before turning back to Peridot, a flurry of questions flooding out from her mouth.
"So... what are we supposed to be doing once we get to the colony? Are we supposed to make best friends with them? Or just, play it cool and pretend to make friends with them? Or what if they don't even let us in!"
"We've been instructed to infiltrate their group-" Peridot began in response. "So if that means acting as friendly as possible, then yes. We're meant to make friends with them. As for them letting us in..." The leader paused from speaking for a moment.
"If anything happens and they don't take kindly to us, I'll think of something. But for right now, we need to move or we'll never get there. Let's go!" Peridot raised her voice as she uttered the last few lines so that the whole group could hear her. She began picking up he pace and Marix followed suit, leaping over a fallen log and pushing aside a large tree branch blocking his path.
((this is a bit sudden but I'm just letting you guys know that I'll be on the road most of tomorrow as there is a family emergency. I'll most likely check in tomorrow evening and/or post but I can't guarantee when/if I will, so I'm just letting you all know in case I can't for the next few days.
I'm really sorry, like I said, I know this is sudden but I thought I'd let you guys know in case I disappear.))
@UltraGeek I hope everything turns out ok, thanks for letting us know :)
It didn't took long for Namira to find her way back to the village. On her way back her ears picked up a nice tune and she couldn't help but to look in the direction where the sound was coming from. The tree branches bend down to show a group of forest animals that were surrounding a centaur. Her violet eyes quickly spotted a familiar unicorn. Sylvan much like her liked to spend most of her time in the forest, but unlike Namira, Sylvan stayed at the forest much longer. Namira just preferred not to stay away from the village for too long in case she was needed or if something had happened. She smiled friendly at the unicorn centaur, not wanting to disturb her or scare the animals away. Even though Namira spend a lot of time in the forest most of it's residents didn't trust her much, she wasn't much interested in them anyway so it was normal for them not to know her like a friend. Whenever they saw her walking they'd simply move out of her way, Namira had no desire to interact with them so it was better this way. She pointed to the village with a nod of her head to let Sylvan know where she'd be if she was needed. With that the small part that the trees had opened dissapeared as the branches got back to normal. Namira contained on her way back and soon arrived at the village. She was getting a bit hungry and decided to visit the gardens. When she saw Fae sorting some of the fruits and vegetables Namira quickly trotted next to her.
"Morning Fae (is it morning ?or?) Mind if I "steal" an apple or two, or maybe some carrots? " The black deer centaur asked with an innocent smile, her eyes immediately drawn to the basket that was full of red apples.
All the food that was grown here was perfect. The centaurs knew how to tend to their gardens that was beyond question.
Angela sat at a small fire she had made for cooking. It was pretty hard to make fire without flint and steel, but she somehow managed it. The fish she had caught lay next to her, and she threw them in the pot. Stir..... Yummy......stir.
It was pretty much her duty to watch over the fish storage and supply. There was plenty of fish, becuase a small river flowed through their little village. But the waters froze during the winter, and fish had to be stored up.
Angela finished cooking the fish pot, and flew back to the village holding it in her hands. Her wings could only carry her short distances, so she made sure she never strayed far from the village.
After eating her fill, Angela left the pot in the center for anyone to eat.
Rozol grinned and took her hand, facading a gentleman's smile. "I'm sure the others won't mind if they notice the boar I caught missing," he whispered, seeing through her fake display of sadness. He let go and took off to where he remembered placing it, hoping Pidge was following him.
(I ran out of time due to school. Arrg why ;-;)
Centaur were trotting in and out of the village, doing their chores or simply enjoying themselves in the forest. My gaze drifted towards the sky, where the clouds were drifting apart to let the sun shine through. That was good. But something else caught my eye, circling above the village. A pegusas centaur, Nighthawk, who looked like whe was looking for a place to land. That's what I assumed anyway. Maybe she was just up there enjoying the view. In circles.
Near the entrance of the village, where I was, it wasn't too crowded, so I waved wildly up at Nighthawk, hoping she would see me and land.
As it being a usual morning routine of him, Berthamort was more than well aware of others' similar preference of taking a stoll in the forest. He would be happy if he walked into some of them to share a morning greet but he also accept the fact that they doing so as a mean to have sometime alone by themselves, therefore he took his own route in other to keep the distance and grant their privacy. Perhaps deep down, someone like him might want it for himself as well.
He stopped at the bed of flower, the same place he visits first every morning. He smile softly at the rare sight of sunlight that shine throught branches and thought about how silly of him to be carrying a bucket of water as he himself was worried that all these rain might do more harm than good to these flowers. A shadow case by non other than Pidge went passed brieftly as she's the one doing all the work with the rain. He would have to express his gratitude to her later. He shifted his gaze back to the bed of flowers again and simply stand there. A bird or two even took this opotunity to rest on his atlers. What would the others think of him if they found him lingered here again, not to mention the fact that there're things that's better to be done to help the community, a better fruitful garden that would benefit them more than this pretty things. However, Berthamort still feel a need to visit, it can be so lonely out here in the forest.
Finally he moved again, feeling slightly guilty that it cause the birds to be disturbed and flew away. Perhaps he will take the longer way back, this way he can perimeter check the area to make sure that things are okay in these areas.
She had to find a place to land, she had to. Then when she finished her circle, she spotted Kamaria on the ground. The area looked big enough for her to land in, so Nighthawk slowly brought herself closer to the ground. Once she got close enough, she put her legs on the ground and halted herslef. She looked over at Kamaria. "Thanks, Kamaria. I don't think I would have seen this opening if you hadn't been here. Thanks." She said. She turned her body so she was facing the direction of the village. "So, how as your day been?" She said, starting to walk into the forest. Then she relised that the dead deer was still viable on her back and she lifted her wings to cover it.
Doing water tricks in the river started to get boring. She stood up and looked at the village. She wondered where zecora was. She liked hanging around with Zecora. They seemed to have a bunch in common, except age, she was much younger than Zecora. Out of curiosity, she walked into the village. "Zecora! Zecora?" She called.
"Oh. Okay! I have faith in you! And if they don't let us in, I know you can get us in. I just know it!" Meadowsong then bounded off to meet another member of the newbie team. She then approached a lamb satry. "Hi! I'm Meadowsong, what's your name?"
Laci saw the deer satry bounce over to the lamb. Laci shook her head, that girl could never get enough. Laci pulled up her cloak more. The air was quite nippy and it was cold. She didn't really know anyone here. Not even the leaders name. Not that no one would even notice her, if a wolf suddenly came and ate her, no one would care. She looked behind, she was the last in the herd. She was falling behind, like always. Laci just hopped that no one would abandoned her.
One of the deer centaurs approached Mystic and introduced theirself as Meadowsong. She gave a little wave. "Um, hi. I'm Mystic." She said giving a small smile.
"Nice to meet you Mystic! How how are you doing today? Good or not so good?"
I wandered the villiage that I had helped found, I was one of the last remaining centaurs from the original group of transformed and the only reason I had fared so well in aging was because of my draconic atributes. Little ones ran around me as they played a game of tag, it was these moments that brought a smile to my face. Very few of the newer generations called me by my name, even if I told them to call me by Faolan, I was always elder or ancient dragon to the younger ones and elder Faolan to those of the same generation as my children and grandchildren.
I noticed that Pidge had cleared the clouds once again and smiled as the sun warmed my black scales. I looked over at Fae as she tended the gardens and noticed Namira with her. I walked over to the main gardener of the village, "hello Fae, Namira" I said, nodding to the two, "you woudn't happened to have a few of those strawberries you know I like?" I asked Fae with a humorsly pitiful lilt to my question. My age had made me a little abnoxious but had not dulled my mind.
I followed quickly after Peridot and listned to the conversations that went on as we walked. more floating water orbs followed me as the others bumped rain covered branches.
