CANT USE A SINGLE BOWSER NOW?!!
We cant use a single browswer now? Everey single browser I've tried tells me to download your app. That's not happening because it over heats my lap top.
Can you please let us play in the browsers until you create an app that doesn't over heat our PC's?
Firefox and icedragon no longer support the unity web player needed to play SoD
I hope this doesn't make it harder for you to play yourself in Fireball Frenzy for your FIKANG clan in the tournament haha
admins posted a few days ago that it would no longer support the unity web player. Firefox and Icedragon I believe are by the same people/company. I must say, this made me so happy to see the good in browsers no longer working hahaha. no more easy access to using "dummy vikings" in fireball frenzy.
Hold on, what??? Are you taking this on the game? That's not how it works.
Thats not how it works.
If that is not what you mean, I misunderstood the "If it didnt support it it would ask to download unity player." Which is "It?" The browser, the game, or the gaming engine?
What do you mean the downloadable overheats your PC? I use it here and have not noticed anything like that. Any details you can give me on this?
Yes, we are also not thrilled that the browsers have all started to not support the unity web player but not much we can do about that.
Exactly. Weird how a program alone can overheat a computer. Just turn off you're monitor every once in a while, make sure you're vent is clean, and keep it away from you're fireplace and your computer is as cool as it can get. (Unless if you have a Windows Vista laptop, I've seen one randomly caught on fire, not really but it was really hot and smoking and I panicked mainly because it was not my computer :/)
If anything, SoD can only overload your CPU as the worst harm it can make. But I still have seen a program that is far worse. have you heard of Windows Movie Maker? If you like it when a program crashes and you lose you're 4 hours of work, you'll love this!
I do have to say that I use a laptop and wether it's the browser or download version my laptop still gets physically very hot
ESPECIALLY if it's charging
I try not to play while it's charging but it can still be alarming to see how hot it can get sometimes
Well, it still doesn't make any sense so I looked it up on Google. It turns out that SoD is not the only game that can cause a computer to overheat. There is Legue of Legends, Minecraft, The Elder Scrolls (not surprised at all), Roblox, and even playing on Steam. The irony. I looked up different solutions to overheating during gameplay.
-Make sure you're vent/ fans/ cooling system is clean and not filled with dust build-up that blocks you're vents from cooling down your laptop.
-Elevate your laptop by using a book so it can get the air out and away (Computers can breathe, did you know?)
-Try keeping your AC running or run the computer is a cool 60°F (Or a little bit around that) so that your computer can stay cold.
-Place your computer on a cooling mat I believe you can get them at Best Buy, they keep the surface cool that helps prevent overheating
-Lower your brightness
I guess this doesn't make sense to me because I have a Windows 10 Asus 10 point touch screen laptop running on an Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N2815 @ 1.86GHz Processor, and a 64-bit Operating system (So yah, its kinda outdated) and I never had the first sign of overheating while gameplay. Or any kind of play basically.
I get rare crashes (unless if I'm in Nightmare Tide), little lag, and absolutely smooth running all the way through. So I don't get the problems that others are getting.
Nope, not a single one... poor poor Bowser
It's not a thing SoD can help. Browsers have been slowly phasing out NPAPI support for years now. It was an expected change and it's not sudden, but porting the game to a different engine doesn't sound like something that could easily be done. However I think IE (and not Edge) still runs NPAPI-based plugins, so you could try that. Here's a list of browsers that support NPAPI.
How you use your laptop? A game shouldn't overheat it that quickly so there might be an underlying problem. Do you use the laptop on your lap or on a blanket? Laptops are prone to overheating when you do that because it blocks the airflow. You might also want to check whether there's dust accumulation inside as that's also a big cause of overheating. (spraying pressured air into the air vents should fix that)
Other than that, your laptop might not be up to the task. What are your specs?
I still can play via the Internet Explorer. Lets hope they dont put this away.
The Internet Explorer still supports Unity Webplayer, hopefully it'll always support it, Chrome and FireFox stopped which is very sad, it isn't JumpStarts or School of Dragons idea to stop users to play on FireFox, can people please just stop blaming School of Dragons or Jumpstart that everything is their fault ?
