And THIS Is What Happens When...
... I put almost everything I have into a drawing. My shading skills aren't that great, tho. But I would like some feedback on this, please! Like, not just the drawing, but how much it looks like a NF, or does the style I use make sense with the anatomy of a dragon?
Thanks in advance!
I looks just like a night fury!
The shading looks fine.
That's Pitch, right? It's really good!
Wow, that's really awesome-looking! And I feel you with the shading, I'm horrible at that. Top of my siggy is a pretty good example of that...
To me, that looks just like a Night Fury! The head is, I think the best part, but you got the proportions pretty darn good.
The one thing that I will say is a bit 'weird' is the random patch of scales on his ear flaps. I like the scales at the nose and wing tips because they're at the edges, but the ear flap scales, where they are, don't make much sense to me.
Looks great! :D
What you could improve on though are the wings. The part where the bones hold the wings together could be less skinny and short and could look more like this:
So all I am saying is that the wings need more support in them and maybe the neck could be a little more thicker too. Exelent job though, keep practicing :D
Whoop, here comes an art student:
So the actual artistic look is good. Not trying to blow your face off with 200 different colours and neons, softened by the background which is very pleasing to look at, and the few little dashes of red make for nice little focal points across the piece.
Anatomy, a bit iffy but then again I have very high standards. The head could be a tad longer or thinner, the neck could use a little bit of thickening- it's about the same width as the base of the skull- and having a clearer transition between the chest and neck would be nice. The wing arm could be much thicker- don't be afraid to let things go off the page. The wing elbow could have gone much further down, and maybe the shoulder could start a little bit behind the arm.
The muscle indentations/lines are in good spots, but the scales could use some work. It's better to draw them as slightly darker spots rather than having outlines, or having very thin broken outlines.
Eye shape is very nice, I like that bit most (wow what great english i can do?)
The ears could be dropped down a little, and flattened, with even spacing between them, and maybe add a few more along the lower jaw and curving around a bit. The mouth is nice, but some distinction between the lips on the edge would look really nice.
Spines could begin a bit higher up and have some spacing between them, and the point could be dulled a bit.
But all in all, pretty good!
That wing elbow could come down alot further though- each limb segment should be about the same length
